Let's get started!

Stingrays are so cute, so I'm sure you'll love this pattern! This is a great
pattern for beginners and experts alike. You will need experience
working in a round, making basic stitches, and working around a chain.

The great thing about this stingray is it's made in one piece! No sewing
required! That also means that this is a fantastic project for your scrap
yarns.

You can make this project in any weight yarn. Using bulky (size 6) yarn
will create a larger stingray, and medium (size 4) yarn will create a
smaller stingray. Let's get started!

Head/Body
In any color

We will create the body by creating a chain and working completely around the chain to
form a round.
Round 1: Ch 9. Sc 3 times in the 2nd chain from the 1 2
hook. Sc in the next 6 st. Sc 3 times in the last chain.

Now we meet the end of the chains. Turn your work to

the OTHER side of the chain, where we haven’t made

any stitches yet. Continuing on that other side, Sc in

the next 6 st (18) 3 4

Round 2: *Inc* in the next 3 st, Sc in the next 6 st,
*Inc* in the next 3 st, Sc in the next 6 st (24)

Round 3: *Sc* all around (24)

Now we will mark where to place the safety eyes later.

Add a different colored stitch marker into the 7th and

5
13th stitch in Round 3.

Round 4-5: *Sc* all around (24)

In the next round we will make the arms of the stingray.

We will do this by creating chains and working around

the chains

Round 6: Sc in the next 4 st (Pic 1). Ch 5 (Pic 2), Sc 2 times in the 2nd chain from the hook. Sc in
the next 3 ch (Pic 3). Working back on body (Pic 4), Sc in the next 13 st (Pic 5).

Stuff the body here. I did not stuff where the wings

of the stingray are, but you can if you'd like.

Continue stuffing after each round.

Round 20: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (12)

Round 21-22: *Sc* all around (12)
Round 23: *Dec, Sc in the next st* all around (8)
Round 24-32: *Sc* all around (8)
You can add in a strong pipecleaner to the tail now. However, I bent the tail to one side with

no pipecleaner and it holds it's shape fine. Now finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew

the remaining stitches closed and weave in ends.

All done!
