C. DISCUSSION
1. What is analytical listening skills? It is the ability and the capacity to properly analyze what is being said. The act of
trying to see the other’s point of view without becoming “mentally argumentative.” It is all about feeling and meaning.
Like in music- listening to an audio composition whereby the meaning of the sounds are interpreted.
2. What are the four types of listening skills?
Appreciative is a way of listening in which someone actively goes in search of certain auditory information that this
person personally appreciates or likes.
Emphatic is a structured listening and questioning technique that allows you to develop and enhance relationships
with a stronger understanding of what is being conveyed, both intellectually and emotionally.
Comprehensive is the overall category that covers most other forms of listening that critical listeners utilize.
Critical Is a process for understanding what is said and evaluating, judging, and forming an opinion on what you hear.
3. Give the importance of analytical skills and problem solving? Analytical listening helps bring balance to a
conversation and process information objectively. In conversation with others, feelings play an important role. When
the atmosphere of the conversation is good, chances are objectivity will disappear into the background. Being mindful
of this allows for a balance to be created between feelings and logical reasoning. Analyses of causes can be made,
after which the consequences of a problem can be better detected as well.
D. APPLICATION
