PASS Composite Bushing

• Allows connecting the PASS bay to overhead Line and Bus Bars
• Composite type  Epoxy impregnated Fiberglass tube with Silicon Rubber sheds. The metal flanges
are heat shrunk and glued onto the tube for maximum robustness and gas tightness
• The hydrophobic Silicon Rubber sheds are cast onto the tube and chemically bonded to it, allowing
no moisture or contamination infiltration
• Designed and tested according to IEC 61462 and IEC 62217
• Pollution Level (IEC 60815): d (Heavy) / e (Very Heavy)

Monitoring example: maintenance optimization of a car

Fixed schedule maintenance of an old car Event-driven maintenance of a modern car

Manual checks required e.g. oil level, screen water, tire pressure No manual checks required
Car condition is not continuously verified Thanks to sensors and data processing, Continuous monitoring of the
car is feasible
Maintenance based on fixed schedule
Event-drive maintenance; indication provided by the communication
This maintenance scheme leads to:
system
• Over maintained car
Monitoring allows to:
• Higher operational cost
• Optimize car maintenance
• Risk for unplanned shutdowns still high
• Lower operational cost
• Reduce the risk for unplanned shutdowns

Monitoring is simplifying the maintenance of the asset, reducing operational cost and the risk of unplanned shutdowns
