The History of Coffee

Coffee is one of the world's most popular beverages, enjoyed by millions of people every day. Its
history dates back to ancient times. Legend has it that coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat
herder named Kaldi in the 9th century. Kaldi noticed that his goats became more energetic after
eating berries from a certain tree. Curious, he tried the berries himself and experienced a similar
burst of energy. Word of this discovery spread, and coffee cultivation began in Ethiopia.

In the 15th century, coffee found its way to the Arabian Peninsula, where it became an integral part
of the culture. Coffeehouses, known as "qahveh khaneh," began to spring up in cities like Mecca and
Constantinople, serving as hubs for social interaction and intellectual discussion. By the 17th century,
coffee had spread to Europe, where it quickly gained popularity.

Today, coffee is a global phenomenon, with a diverse array of brewing methods and coffee cultures
worldwide. It's more than just a drink; it's a social ritual, a source of inspiration, and an integral part
of many people's daily routines.
