• There are a number of community cats in and around the vicinity of LEXINGTON GARDEN
VILLAGE
• Cats multiply quickly
• Cats by instinct fight for a mate and will be noisy
• Kittens are sometimes thrown in the garbage or left on the streets
• If unaddressed, the cat population will continue to grow
• LEXINGTON GARDEN VILLAGE wishes to address/manage the population in a
humane manner
• Possible transmission of viral or bacterial infection

• Once a week (subject to agreement) CARA trained catchers will catch a minimum of 10
cats from the area
• Each cat will be placed in individual cages and will be labeled according to general
description, gender and exact location where they were caught
• Cats will be transported to the CARA spay and neuter clinic in Samat, Mandaluyong
• After surgery, each cat receives an ear notch (the tip of the ear is cut off), as a marker
(this is an internationally accepted standard for street cats)
• Cats will be injected with anti-rabies vaccine or choose 4-in-1 vaccine (with additional
P650)
• Cats will recover for 3 days either in the CARA clinic or at a resident’s home, where they
will be fed and managed
• Cats are injected with a long-acting antibiotic meant to address speedy recovery and to
prevent infection
• CARA will transport the cats back to the area where they were caught
