WHAT IS DOST-SEI MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship
under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and
are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.

The RA 7687 Scholarship (RA 7687) provides scholarship slots to poor but deserving students
whose families’ annual gross incomes do not exceed the poverty threshold limit. The scholar
must pursue a course in the field of science, mathematics and engineering leading to a
Bachelor of Science degree.

What are the responsibilities of a DOST Scholar?

One of the responsibilities of a DOST-SEI scholar is meeting the set grade


requirements and enrolling with the prescribed academic loads based on their
submitted program of study. Thus, all the scholars are made to report their grades
and registration form every start and end of each semester/term.

What is the main purpose of DOST?


The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the primary science and
technology body in the country, charged with pursuing the state policy of supporting
local efforts in science, technology, and research and development.

Who are the beneficiaries of DOST scholarship?


The beneficiaries are incoming college students who wish to pursue careers in the
DOST identified priority courses in basic, and applied sciences, engineering and
science teaching.
