The Emperor's l{ew Clothes
(Part 1) I
Many years ago, there lived a vain Emperor who spent
all of his money on clothes. One day, two men came to
his kingdom. They looked and sounded like tailors. They
carried bags full of shiny cloth.
"We make wonderful clothes," they said. "But only
intelligent people can see them. Fools can't see them."
When the Emperor heard this, he sent for the tailors.
"Is it true that fools can't see the clothes you make?" the
Emperor asked the tailors.
"It is," they answered confidently. "But our clothes
are very expensive."

"Here are five hundred gold coins," the
\
Emperor said. "I want a beautiful spotted jacket."
"Our striped jacket is better," said the men. "But it
costs seven hundred and fifty coins."
"Stripes it is!" cried the Emperor, and he gave them
more money.

Would you like to eat insects as part of your daily diet?
The idea makes some people feel sick, but studies show that
eating insects could be good for you!
People eat different insects in different parts of the world.
For example, salty grasshoppers are popular in some parts
of lt4exico. Add a little lime juice and they make a delicious
crunchy snack.
Or how about a juicy caterpillar casserole? This is a dish in

Biography: Ryan Hreljac
Ryan Hreljac was born in Canada in 1991. In first grade,
he was in a class that changed his lif'e. It was about people in
Africa who did not have access to clean water. Although he was
only six years old, Ryan decided to do something.
He did extra chores to raise money for a well. In four months, he sa
seventy dollars to build a well inAfrica. However, he then found out that a
well costs $2,000. Eventually, after two more years of fund-raising, he got the money.
In 2001, Ryan started the Ryan's Well Foundation. Since then, the foundation
has improved the lives of around one million people with community projects.
Also, Ryan has traveled all over the world to give talks.
Ryan has won many awards, including the World of Children Award in20}3.
He was twelve years old. He completed his studies in 2013 and has been project
manager at the foundation since 2015.
