concepts and practicing Parallel structure means using the same pattern of words to show that
new skills #1 two or more ideas have the same level of importance. This can happen
at the word, phrase, or clause level. The usual way to join parallel
structures is with the use of coordinating conjunctions such as "and" or
"or."

Examples:
 Not Parallel: dig, cook, dance , singing
 Parallel: dig , cook , dance , sing

 Not Parallel: Ryan likes swimming, hiking, and to ride a


motorcycle (phrase).
Parallel: Ryan likes swimming, hiking, and riding a motorcycle

 Not Parallel: He loves singing, dancing , and to eat


 Parrallel: He loves singing , dancing , and eating.
