in performing measurements and calculations
IV. LEARNING PHASES AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES
I. Introduction (Time Frame: 30 mins.)
This Lesson is concerned with measuring, calculating, and estimating lengths, areas, and volumes, as well as the construction
of three-dimensional (3D) objects.
In the broadest sense, mensuration is all about the process of measurement. Mensuration is based on the use of algebraic
equations and geometric calculations to provide measurement data regarding the width, depth and volume of a given
object or group of objects.
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to:
a. select measuring instrument.
b. carry out measurements and calculation.
c. maintain measuring instruments.
Read the direction in every activity carefully.
Before you start the lesson answer the preliminary activity

TASK #6
Answer the following questions based on what you have learned in the lesson. Write your answer on a separate sheet of
paper.
1. Why is it necessary to select measuring tools in line with job requirements?
2. Enumerate the ways of proper handling of measuring instruments to avoid damage.

TASK #7 True or False

Direction: Write True if the statement is correct and False if it is wrong.
____________1. You also need to take steps to keep the humidity of the storage space at a suitable level and to take care of
any moisture issues that may arise.
____________2. It is not also helpful to take time to organize your devices in a cart, tray, inspection station or other location.
____________3. Not leaving your instruments in contact with dirt or oil for long periods, as oils can cause corrosion.
____________4. You should have a regular cleaning schedule in place for your devices.
____________5. Every measuring tool has different maintenance needs, and you should receive guidelines in the user manual
for each device you purchase.
____________6. If you go through your regular production process with the result being defective products, you will go at a
huge loss.
____________7. Not leaving your instruments in contact with dirt or oil for long periods, as oils cannot cause corrosion.
____________8. Any slight mistake in measurement readings will not cause time delays and possible safety concerns for your
business.
____________9. Be sure to follow the recommendations for how to store each tool you use.
____________10. Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to clean your instruments and ensuring the cloth is clean before using it.
V. ASSESSMENT (Time Frame: 45 mins.)
(Learning Activity Sheets for Enrichment, Remediation, or Assessment to be given on Weeks 3 and 6)
POST-TEST LESSON 3
Direction: Below are the possible answer to each question. Write your answer in the space provided before each number.

DRAM SRAM ROM DIMM PROM

Zero-Ohm Adjustment Knob Multi tester

1 MEGA BYTE BYTE Zero-Ohm Adjustment Knob

____________1. It is permanent memory location that offer huge types of standards to save data.
____________2. It is a RAM which is faster than DRAM, but more expensive and bulker, having six transistors in each cell.
____________3. It is the best instrument that can measure voltage, resistance and current.
____________4. It describes the physical format of the RAM.
____________5. It is equal to 1,000 KBs
____________6. It is the unit that computers use to represent a character such as a letter, number or a typographic symbol
____________7. It is the smallest unit of memory measurement but greater than a byte.
____________8. It uses more energy than SRAM because it constantly needs to be refreshed to maintain data integrity.
____________9. IT is used to calibrate the multi tester when you want to measure the resistance of an object.
____________10. It maintains large storage media but cannot offer the erase features in ROM.

VI. REFLECTION (Time Frame: 15 minutes)
