March 28- 29, 30-31, 2022
2:00pm-3:00pm
ENGLISH

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the sixty minute period, the students should be able to;

A. define what evidence


B. judge the validity of the evidence from the listening/reading text

MELC: Judge the validity of the evidence listened to (EN9LC-IVh-2.15)

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. Topic: Judge the Validity of the Evidence from the Text
B. Resources: Self-Learning Module, Google.com, Youtube.com
C. Integration: Science, Mathematics
D. Skills: Listening, Analyzing, Interpreting

III. PROCEDURES
A. PRE-LESSON PRESENTATION
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Motivation
-the teacher asks students to study a dialogue between two friends. (SLM page 7)
- the students will answer the Pretest on pages 1-6.

B. LESSON PROPER
- The teacher introduces to the students what evidence and a claim is.
- The teacher discusses the steps in assessing or identifying evidences.
- The teacher tackles on the set of criteria of how we evaluate the validity of evidence.
- The teacher shows a video to expand the discussion on identifying the validity of evidence.
- The teacher let the student answer Let Us Practice on page 11-12 (Activity)

C. APPLICATION
-The students will open their self-learning module on Let Us Practice More, page 13-14 (Activity
4: Appraisal). The teacher will call names to share their answer for every item in front of the
class. The chosen students give explanation of how s/he arrived with such answer.
- The teacher will tell the class the correct answers for every item.
D. GENERALIZATION
-Ask students to organize the information based from the topic being discussed.
-The students will tell how do we assess the evidence in written text.
- The teacher will throw 3 questions to wrap up the lesson.

IV. EVALUATION

- The teacher gives a 25 item quiz for the topic being discussed. Write your answer on a separate sheet of
paper. Use ½ sheet of paper in answering.
