Learning Episode 8 – Establishing My Own Classroom Routines and Procedures in a Face-to-Face /

Participate and Assist

To ensure that I can carry out/ perform my task efficiently and effectively in
participating and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures, in the
classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following by the following questions:

1. How will I gain student attention in the classroom/ remote learning?

2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and after my classes
whether on a face to face or remote learning?
3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that students need help/attention
in the classroom/remote learning?
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and others in the classroom/
remote learning?
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the classroom /
remote learning?
6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal necessities in the
classroom/ online classes?
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early/ and for those cannot complete work on
time?
8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness/ early dismissals?
9. What procedures must be done when submitting homework/ performance tasks in the classroom/
remote learning?
10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the classroom/ remote
learning?

Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the possible assistance or
participation that you can do to help her/ him in doing the classroom routines. Complete the matrix
for the routines that you can employ before, during and after classes in the classroom/ remote
learning to ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down the problems which you have
encountered while implementing these routines.

How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your procedures in the
classroom/ remote learning?

  Classroom routines can increase student confidence and comfort levels since learners know
what is expected of them in different situations. Set routines are especially helpful when
working with young learners and teens that need extra support in regulating their behavior.

How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures?

 Routines enable pupils to complete day-to-day duties that are expected of both teachers and
students in a timely manner. Routines also aid in the creation of phase change process
among activities, reducing the likelihood of disruptions. A consistent routine provides
students with a sense of order as well as shows them the importance of prioritizing their
time, objectives, and goals.

What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and procedures?

 In order for pupils to succeed in the classroom, they must pay close attention. Unrelated
information, background noise, visual distractions, and even one's own thoughts can all be
"tuned out" by paying attention. Students will be able to concentrate and focus on the
crucial information provided by teachers as a result of this.

 I simply based my answers on my understanding about the given topic. Also, I took some
research to support my details and ideas about it, that includes their references to avoid
plagiarism and to showcase its legitimacy!

Was there a change in the classroom environment/ teaching-learning process after you have
implemented your classroom routines and procedures?

 No, this is the same type of rule as the other teachers used. I find it effective and useful. This
teaching-learning process has been a helpful tactics of teachers for years and decades.

 There are many factors or conditions that really prompted me to establish those
classroom routines and procedures, but to at least list a few, one of which is the

 network carrier may crash and it causes an internet issue or unstable connectivity, so
it is justifiable that one of the procedures is to give learners a homework or
performance tasks. Secondly, mood, this is a factor that is very considerable to
establish such routine in a classroom, and this is to set up the mood by always
engaging learners to a motivational activity. Lastly, presence, presence is one of the
factors that prompted me to establish a certain routine in my online classroom, and
this routine is to always incorporate verbal and non-verbal gestures or cues, because
it really helps me to notice or to check if my students really pay attention or active in
participating.

2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your

classroom routines?
 Teaching is a profession that needs clear analytical skills for you to produce desired
results.

 Students in one year may behave totally different from students in the following
year, this calls for a change in strategy since according to experience behavior affect
personal performance.

 Class routines either in online or in a physical teaching class are made to ensure that
the learners are able to get the desired results.
 Once implemented a class routine might be rejected by learners because of several
things;

3. Did the teaching learning process improve? Justify your answer.

 Yes, in today’s learning processes there have been a lot of action research conducted
already where in the teacher may refers when it comes to student’s characteristics
and behavior to create strategies that will help not only the students but the teacher
itself to have and effective conducive learning environment.

 That it is very essential in dealing the learners and in transmitting knowledge,

 There are a lot of ways to improve classroom management like organizing my lessons
in transmitting the knowledge to the learners.

 Being a good example to the students, if the students see that you as a teacher
follow the rules, they will obey it too.

 Another one is being prepared, a prepared teacher gives the students the assurance
that they will learn something since the teacher is well-equipped.
