As the election approaches, the representative who will run for election becomes tenser.
The Filipino people are having difficulty selecting candidates, particularly for the role of President.
There have been several discussions, concerns, and debates about who is deserving of being
President of the Philippines. Every representative has the capability to lead, but there is one
individual who is more capable and capable of leading our country, the Philippines. Maria Leonor
Santo Tomas Gerona-Robredo, popularly known as Vice-President Leni Robredo, is a Filipino
politician. Thus this paper will talk Who is Vice President Leni Robredo? What is she capable of? &
Why is she deserving of the presidency of the Philippines?
First, Who is Leni Robredo? Maria Leonor Santo Tomas Gerona-Robredo, a mother of three
(daughters), is an alternate lawyer, a public worker, and the Philippines' current Vice President,
according to ovp.gov.ph. She carried on the legacy of her late husband, Jesse Robredo, who served
as mayor of Naga City and as Secretary of the Interior before dying in a plane crash. She entered
politics in 2013 when she was elected to the Third District of Camarines Sur as a Representative.
She created programs such as the Anti-Poverty Program and Istorya ng Pag-asa while serving as
Vice President; she also has six (6) advocacies, including food security and nutrition, women
empowerment, education, health care, rural development, and housing. Istorya ng Pag-asa is a
program that aims to spread hope and positivity that features the extraordinary stories of every
Filipino through portraits, films, and social media.
Next, What is she capable of? She is self-sufficient, making her a humble public servant, a
superb leader, and a selfless woman. According to ph.news.yahoo.com, she handled the response
from our former President Rodrigo Duterte, who said she should shut up, quit trying to be
important, and die, with ease, politeness, and respect, and she did not stop proving to the public
that she deserved the highest position in government. Leni Robredo's method of retaliation is to
stay a nice, decent, and honest public servant, something her other opponents lack. Leni Robredo is
a wonderful leader; although she lacks adequate supporters, she manages to keep working with her
team (OVP) although she is only provided a budget every year. Furthermore, throughout the
epidemic, she continued to do what a leader should have done and created the Bayanihan E-
Konsolta and Vaccine Express programs, relying on donations from her followers. Finally, she is a
selfless lady. According to rappler.com, she wanted to be a lawyer like her father (Antonio Gerona)
and wants to stay low profile, but the tragic occurrence that occurred to her husband led her down
an unexpected route, where she sacrificed her plan and maintained her husband's legacy.
Lastly, Why is she deserving of the presidency of the Philippines? She possesses the
integrity, competence, and track record necessary to successfully lead the country, and she is not
hesitant to demonstrate her political opinions. According to aljazeera.com, Jason Gonzales, a mayor,
and provincial legislator, only Leni Robredo has remained true to her values despite Rodrigo
Duterte's supremacy. Leni Robredo also declared that Rodrigo's War on Drugs is a failure due to
extrajudicial executions, even though she tried to assist with the issue but was fired after only 18
days. According to John Nery, jhonnery.wordpress.com, a Filipino journalist, Leni Robredo is the
only national leader left standing who represents both real opposition and great constituency, as
well as a credible candidate who shared both testimony and courage during the pandemic, and her
OVP (Office of Vice President) has proven to be one of the best performing governments, having
done many extraordinary works for the past 18 months (1 year and 4 months) and counting.
Despite the neglection and degrading, she has received from the former president, as well as the
charge from Bongbong Marcus stated she cheated during the election, she continues to serve her
people and the country she loves.
Therefore, Leni Robredo is deserving, worthy, and qualified to lead the Filipino people, as
well as the suitable person for the role of President. She has shown herself to be a decent, honest,
and good person in the community. Many people have faith in her and have never doubted her.
Although she was mistreated and abused by President Rodrigo Duterte, and Bongbong Marcus
accused her of infidelity, she went on to become an amazing leader. She gave up her previous life to
carry on with what her husband had entrusted to her. To summarize, we all know that one of the
qualities of a good and exceptional leader is the ability to communicate and listen to her people. I
highly believe Leni Robredo has that characteristic that other candidates don't have. That woman
can lead and woman can win.
