3 Reading Approach LP
I. Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the parallel structures used in a text;
b. apply rules of parallel structures to complete a text; and
c. appreciate the importance of parallel structure in reading a text.
II.Subject Matter
a. Topic: Parallel Structures (First Quarter)
b. Materials: reading materials, visual presentations, worksheets
c. Reference: English Grade 8- Learning Module pp. 55-56
III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities
1.Opening Prayer
The teacher will call a student to lead the : (A student will lead the prayer.)

B. Activity
The teacher will distribute a reading material- an
informative text about African literature which
contains parallel structures. She will ask the : (The students will read.)

C. Analysis
All answers will be checked by the teacher. Then,

D. Abstraction
The teacher will show the definition and an
example of parallel structures in a visual
presentation. Next, she will show a narrative text : (The students will read the narrative and

E. Application
The teacher will distribute worksheets which has

IV. Evaluation
The teacher will distribute a problem-solution text. They have to complete the text applying
rules of parallel structures. The teacher will allot 10 minutes for them to complete the text.
V. Assignment
The teacher will give a process text, then the students will underline the parallel structures
found there.
