P1 Examine, using examples, the terms ‘Business Process’ and ‘Supporting Process
1.Business Process
- A business process has been designated as a business venture, it will accomplish the organization's mission. The process must
include a clear set of inputs and a single output. These inputs are made up of all the factors that contribute to the added value of a
service or product (directly or indirectly). These factors are addressed in the management process. Managing the operations of a
particular organizational system of management processes operations. Operations form the main business. Support processes such
as human resources and statistics are in place to support key business processes. (kissflow, n.d.)
- Dataset: My data is used to discuss pizza sales. The data consists of tables: a table that stores complete data with the names of
cities, zip codes, addresses of stores; the second table saves the menu, the price of money; The final table stores the transaction, order
date, date received, and price of each cake

Strategy\ report process
2.Supporting Processes
- Is performed to maintain the integrity of the product or service developed by “primary processes” as well as ensures that products
and processes comply with predefined provisions and plans. Supporting processes accompany the “primary processes”, which do not
typically result in final products of the organization, but rather indirectly contributes to the value-added. Documentation, configuration
management, verification, training, and audit process are all supporting processes
P2.Compare the types of support available for business decision-making at varying levels within an organisation.
1.Type of control
- Operational control : Operational business controlling is used to regulate the internal processes necessary to monitor and direct
the company in the short term. It allows making business decisions related to ongoing business operations. The main tasks of
operational controlling include
+ Controlling the results
+ liquidity planning
+ Monitoring of profitability
+ Improving the effectiveness of the use of existing resources.
- Manage control : Control is a function of management which helps to check errors in order to take corrective actions. This is done
to minimize deviation from standards and ensure that the stated goals of the organization are achieved in the desired manner.
- Strategic planning : In terms of the overall long-term goals or desires of a company, strategic planning is the art of creating specific
business strategies, implementing them, and evaluating the results of executing the plan. It is a concept that focuses on integrating
different departments within a company (such as accounting and finance, marketing, and human resources) to achieve its strategic
objectives. Essentially, the term strategic planning is synonymous with strategic management.
2.Type of decision
- Structured data : Structured data exists in a format created to be captured, stored, organized, and analyzed. It’s neatly organized
for easy access. If structured data was an office it would contain many file cabinets that are efficiently set up, clearly labeled, and easy
to access. For that reason, structured data brings inherent benefits when dealing with high volumes of information.
- Semi-structured data : semi-structured data as a type of data that contains semantic tags, but does not conform to the structure
associated with typical relational databases. While semi-structured entities belong in the same class, they may have different
attributes.
- Unstructured data : Unstructured data is not organized in any discernable manner and has no associated data model. This type of
information is usually text-heavy and often includes multiple types of data. Examples of file types commonly considered as
unstructured data are: books, some health records, satellite imagery.
