1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
QCU formerly known as Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU), is a city government-
funded university in Quezon City, Philippines. It was established on March 1, 1994 as the Quezon
City Polytechnic offering technical and vocational courses. It was renamed as Quezon City
Polytechnic University when it was elevated into university status in 2001. It was again renamed as
the Quezon City University on July 2019 by virtue of Ordinance No. SP-2812, series of 2019,
changing its University Charter, which qualifies QCU as a beneficiary of Republic Act 10931, also

The system will use Web based, HTTPS, SSL and Email Verification Technology, It is a
desktop tool or online services (both software-as-a-service or plugins) that allow admin and
students to verify a single email address or a whole list of email addresses, and be sure the
contacts exist, working and valid. HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is a protocol used
to provide security over the Internet. HTTPS prevents interceptions and interruptions from
occurring while the content is in transit.
To create a secure online connection, website also needs an SSL Certificate. If your website asks
visitors to register, sign-up, or make a transaction of any kind, you need to encrypt your

connection. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is another necessary site protocol. This transfers visitor’s
personal information between the website and your database. SSL encrypts information to prevent
it from others reading it while in transit.
Quezon City University handles a lot of students, since it increases annually, the
dissemination of information can be very hard. Handling large amount of information can be
managed with the use of a computerized system. We, the proponents, decided to propose an
Online Enrollment System for Quezon City Polytechnic University. The system will provide the
grades, and allow the students to enroll via online in Quezon City University (QCU) to reduce
queue line, paper-based processes (manual This system will help the school to get-in-touch with
their students and also increase the speed of enrollment for the coming years because the school
profile can be easily promoted via internet.
1.2 Objectives of the Study
The main objective of the study is to develop an online enrollment system for the Quezon
City University
a. To design a module for user log-in;
b. To design a dashboard for student access
c. To record the student’s information for enrollment;
d. To keep information about student’s missing requirements
e. To have more secure storage of databases;
f. To generate and print temporary registration form for payment from the enrollment
details and student information review;

1.3 Significance of the Study
The study is useful to the following:
Quezon City University. The school deserves to provide an efficient, faster, and accurate Online
Enrollment Systems for the Students, for their school to preserve its name and for the school to attract
more students to enroll.
Admission Dept. This study will help in the process of enrollment procedure and it will make registration
easier and faster
Proponent. The proponent is the one who will benefit from this study because the proponents will apply
their acquired knowledge and skills.
Future Researchers. The system maybe a guide or a reference in a related research proposal.
1.4 Scope and Delimitations
This web-based system will be an Online Enrollment System for Quezon City University, a
portal type that covers the major processes in the online enrollment of freshmen, old, and
transferee students. This system can accept input of a student, it includes the basic
information, contacts and address and the students' course and year that will be the
enrollment form. It can only give access or permission to the administrators to confirm the
students who are currently registering, and/or enrolling through the system. It can only be
used by the students to enrol and to download or print the registration form. It can also gives
further information about the enrollment process as to know how many students enrolled in
the university.
The proposed Online Enrollment System in Quezon City University delimits the concern of
each student. It is limited only for the administrators and students who registered. It cannot
run without the use of internet and the system also not giving any charges for any
transaction fees of the students.
