1. Rationale of the Study

Logo is as a simple visual mark to identify your company product or service. A

logo is just one part of an overall brand or corporate identity, but obviously a very

important part. This study was conducted to find out the impact of logo design to the

product salability. The researchers have chosen this study to discuss, examine and

identify if the logo of every business has really an impact to its salability to the ABM

learners of Mandaluyong High School. It sought to get the viewpoint of the participants

on the impact of logo designs for them to patronize or purchase the product.

2. Statement of the Problem

The target of the study is to answer and determine the following questions that are

related to the said study.

1. What is the significant impact of the logo design to the product salability in terms of :

1.1 Colors

1.2 Symbols

1.3 Shapes

iv

2. What is the impact of logo design to the customer’s buying decision?

3. What is the importance of logo design in the increase of product salability?

4. Based on the findings, what strategy can be done to help the future entrepreneurs in

making their product salable using their own logo design?

3. Research Method Used

The researchers used descriptive approach. This method includes the data

collection method, measurements of variables and data analysis procedure. It is

compatible to use in the study, logo design and its impact to the product salability. It

involves collecting data in an unbiased manner.

The researchers used this approach to measure the participants' behavior and

knowledge and the relationship of the variables.

Research Locale

This was conducted on the premises of Mandaluyong High School. The location

that the researchers intend to conduct survey is at Mandaluyong High School (MHS)

located at 67 Rev. G. Aglipay Street, Barangay Poblacion, Mandaluyong City. Through

the years Mandaluyong High School prevails as the bastion of quality education serving

Respondents of the Study

The researchers chosen respondents were the ABM learners both Grade 11 and 12

because they are equipped and knowledgeable to answer the questions regarding the

study which entitled “Logo Design and its Impact to the Product Salability”.

Sampling Procedure

The researchers used strata as sampling procedure. The researchers of this study

utilized stratified random sampling to choose their respondents. This is said to be the

most efficient sampling procedure.

Research Data Instruments

In order to gather the data needed, the researchers used survey questionnaires to

be answered by the respondents which composed of eight questions in the form of Likert

scale (Degree of Agreement). It was composed of statements about elements of logo

design, impact of logo design and the product salability which measured the agreement of

respondents towards each statement.

Data Analysis

Using the data gathered, the researchers used weighted mean as statistical tool for

data analysis. In addition, verbal interpretation is needed for interpreting the computed

weighted mean. The scale of verbal interpretation for computed weighted means is

computed with the mark for each verbal interpretation.

4. Summary of Findings and Conclusions

The following are the findings of this study based on the data presented, discussed and

interpreted.

1. It has been revealed that the use of bright colors and colorful design is unlikely to be a

great impact to the customers to buy the certain product. These statements received a

computed mean of 2.50 with a corresponding verbal interpretation of “Disagree.”

2. Symbols that was uniquely used in designing a logo has an impact to the buying

decisions of the customers. These statement received a computed mean of 2.56 with a

corresponding verbal interpretation of “Agree”.

3. Majority of the respondents disagree on buying the product if the logo uses variety of

shapes. These statements received a computed mean of 2.45 with descriptive value of

“Disagree”.

4. The ABM students admit that the product brand remains in their mind easily because

of the logo design, they even think that the logo design reflects the quality of the product.

These statements received a computed mean of 3.01 and a descriptive value of “Agree”.

5. Senior High School students particularly, ABM, did look into the product logo design

when they purchased a product. They even slightly affected by it that is why they

purchased it. These statements received a computed mean of 2.81 and corresponding

verbal interpretation of “Agree”.

vii
MANDALUYONG HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

1. Based on the findings, the used of bright colors and colorful design have no impact to

ABM students, since the taste of the customers nowadays are continuously changing and

they only prefer a color that was not irritable in their eyes at first glance.

2. It can be concluded that symbols that are used in designing a logo has an impact to the

buying decisions of the ABM students, because humans this day can easily remember the

brand through visual representation of a product and that is the symbol.

3. It has clearly stated that the utilization of various shapes in a single logo is unlikely to

be the reason for ABM students to buy a product, rather, they prefer simple logo that do

not jumbled with many opposing ideas because today human brain tend to hard to

memorize and assign meaning to them also a distinctive shape remains stored within the

banks of our memory long after seeing it.

4. This research found out that logo design thus affect the minds of the ABM students. It

is because they believe logo serves as the business' nor the company's first introduction to

the customers so if the logo is designed well, it can easily catch the interest and attention

of the consumers. In fact, logos are a point of identification, they are the symbol that

customers use to recognize the brand. In addition to this, trust is built in a well-designed

logo, and brand loyalty is quick to follow.

5. According to the research, having a logo design in a company affect the ABM students

on how they look at the company’s brand that is why they purchased a product. In

addition, customers do purchase a product because the logo itself helps the customer to

recognize, differentiate and chose goods. Thus, the hypothesis of the research is rejected.

6. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected: thereupon, the logo design has an impact to the buying

decision of the ABM learners as a result, affecting also the product salability of every

business.
