Queen Emma was an extremely likable, extraordinary woman who was kind
natured and cared for others dearly. She helped the people of Hawaii by improving their
health and access to healthcare. At this time the people that lived in the state of Hawaii
did not have much reliable or affordable places to go while in need. She did this by
figuring out a way to provide these resources for them. Queen Emma helped her people
center, the St. Cross school and helped build St. Andrews cathedral.
Queens medical center on Oahu with King Kamehameha. This hospital was founded at
a time when multiple epidemics were around the island. This was when the race of
native hawaiians were in danger due to new diseases being brought over from other
civilizations. Queen Emma's likeable and persuasive personality helped convince Native
Hawaiian people to donate to help establish all of this. Queen Emma as well as King
Kamehameha both strongly supported this idea of the hospital so they worked hard to
make it a reality.
She also was the founder of the Queen Emmas Land Company. This company is
a public foundation located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This organization was founded in 1979
medical center. This company is able to do this by helping out with life insurance and
bequests.
Queen Emma also helped develop the St. Andrews Cathedral and St. Cross
school. To come up with the money to build the cathedral Queen Emma went to
England to raise funds for architects to design it. The cathedral was made up of cutting
stone. The St. Cross school was established to give girls “the very best in Christian
culture” she also wanted these young women to be prepared to nurse the sick and
injured. The Queen's virtuous efforts to help the next generation of native hawaiian girls
Queen Emma of Hawaii's kind efforts; such as founding Queens Land Company,
Queens Medical Center, The St. Cross school and helping build the St. Andrews
cathedral has helped the people of Hawaii's wellbeing. Her actions made a huge impact
and helped save many lives. Many years later her hospital and foundation is still in
action which shows that what she did made a difference. Queen Emma was a very
important woman who impacted and saved the lives of many Native Hawaiian people in
a time of need.
