OBJECTIVE:
A challenging position that will acquire skills, expertise and experience in the field of Corrosion and Cathodic
Protection Engineering.
NUTSHELL:
Having overall six years’ experience in the field of Corrosion Science and Cathodic Protection Engineering,
Starting from Pre Design Survey, Design and Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Inspection, Installation,
Testing and Commissioning.
CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEERING:
 Pre design surveys such as soil resistivity surveys, soil chemical analysis and additional data collections.
 Design and detailed engineering of SACP (Sacrificial Anode Cathodic Protection) & ICCP (Impressed
Current Cathodic Protection) for Cross Country Pipelines, Plant Piping, Above Ground Storage Tanks,
Underground Vessels and Offshore Piles.
 CP material selection and preparation of various procedures/ method statements, commissioning works of
CP systems including preparation of As-built drawings and final documentation.
INSTALLATION, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING:
 Installation, Testing and Commissioning of SACP and ICCP related all activities.
 Final restoration and handling over the system and closure of the contract.
INSPECTION & QUALITY CONTROL:
 Inspection of all incoming materials in accordance with respective ITP.
 Preparation of ITP for supply, erection, commissioning and survey works.
KEY TASK HANDLED:
 Potential monitoring of pipeline, Tanks, and Vessels as per NACE/IS standards.
 Measurement of PSP and CP (Cathodic Protection) parameters data of SACP and ICCP system and
corrective measures provided if required.
 Maintenance of TR units, anode beds, polarization cells, surge diverters and IJ.

 Mitigation of AC/DC interference on the CP system.
 Maintenance at Pipeline installations and Electrical maintenance of Power Distribution Board, UPS,
Battery Bank etc.
 Responsible for supervising and optimizing the pipeline surveillance.
 Prepares Work permit request, notifications to ensure safety, Compliance and risk as per company policy.

As a CP quality engineer, handled various SACP and ICCP activities of Installation, Testing and
Commissioning for J3 Underground Pipelines, Above Ground Storage Tanks and Vessels.
Successfully commissioned more than 400 TR units for UG Piping, Tanks and Vessels in J3 plants.

 To check and ensure the adherence of cathodic protection system for overall project.
 To interface with discipline engineers and CP contractors for engineering documents.
 Inspection of all CP activities: Soil resistivity survey, finalization of anode beds, etc.
 Review of installation of CP equipment: Anodes, reference electrodes, JB’s and TRU.
 Review and validation of Inspection, monitoring and commissioning reports of CP contractors.
 Co-ordinate and visit across the plants for site quality checks.
 Trade validation of CP engineers and technician and create awareness regarding corrosion and its
mitigation of Cathodic Protection System amongst site engineers
