MODULE 3: The K to 12 Curriculum

This module starts out in an easy way to introduce the K to 12 curriculum. Just like how a
learner starts on his preparatory years with 1,2,3 and A,B,C, this module starts out with the
learner’s earlier domains for learning. It tackles the different early cognitive domain of the
learning which would be beneficial to further assess a learner’s learning style and to be able to
determine the background of the learner. The next session talks about flexible learning options
which is beneficial for the teacher to be able to practice more ways of teaching such as flipped
classroom, online learning, e-learning and many more. It is then followed by the topics of the K
to 12 Inclusive education which talks about how all learners must be included and given a chance
in the educative process. Whether they have special needs or unusual background, different
learning styles and capabilities, all have a right to education. This module also tackles the
different stages of the basic education program, special education, the diversity of learners,
Muslim education, and other special interest programs in the Enhanced Basic Education
curriculum, and finally the indigenous people’s education program.
In conclusion, the mentee has successfully answered all the questions, activities,
reflections and other tasks included in this module.
