LESSON PLAN IN EMPOWERMENT TECHNOLOGIES

Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the key learnings from the from the previous
weeks, which they will synthesize into an integrated ICT content through collaboration with classmate
and teacher as both peer and partner.

Performance Standard:
The learners shall be able to at the end of the 2-week period and quarter collaboratively
develop an online portal or website to showcase and share existing or previously developed content.

These may include but not limited to:

1. Online newsletter
2. Blog
3. Issuu online”magazine”

Learning Competencies:
The learners…
1. Evaluate the quality, value, and appropriateness of peers existing or previously developed
ICT content in relation to the theme or intended audience/ viewer of an ICT
project(CS_ICT11/12ICTPT-Ii-j-12); AND
2. Share and showcase existing or previously developed material in the form of a
collaboratively designed newsletter or blog site intended for a specific audience or viewer
(CS_ICT11/12-ICTPT-Ii-j-13).
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the learners will be able to:
1. Identify and enumerate different online collaborative tools and their uses;
2. Use an online collaborative tool to effectively monitor group tasks;
3. Cite the advantages of using online collaborative tools; and
4. Create a project that requires team member cooperation.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic: Online Platforms for ICT Content Development
B. Concepts:
Terminologies
 Content Management System (CMS) – a computer application that
allows you to publish, edit, manipulate, organize, and delete web
content.
 Blogging- focuses on content and design. It typically looks like a
newsletter where you are given options to change the design to your
liking.
 Social Media Platforms – allow you to create not only personal accounts
but also pages and groups where you can share content.
 Word Press – a free blogging platform
 Theme – the overall design of a website

 Allow learners to think of an infographics that they have previously
created.
2. Analysis
Guide Questions:
1. Who is my target audience of my information graphics?
2. Are my post graphics of good quality?
3. Is the Content updated regularly?
4. Who usually views and comments on my information graphics?
3. Application

Performance Task: Creating a Portal Using Jimdo or WordPress

1. Inside the classroom, find at least four people you have mutual
interst with.
2. Create a web portal using Jimdo or WordPressincluding links to your
different posts.
3. Create a list of tasks and use Trello to organize your tasks as a group
and to make sure that no task is left undone.
4. Design a web portal that fits your groups interest. Alternatively ,
you can also modify the individual blogs to make them more similar.
5. Design graphics for your portal and place them on all your blogs to
create a common identity to your blogs.

Scoring Criteria:
Completeness: 25 points
Content: 50 points
Collaboration: 25 points
Total: 100 points
