Teacher Activity
The instructor will ask the question: What is empathy?
In their groups, students should define the word empathy, then create a
poster that briefly explains it. (either by drawing or writing key words) Then
post it on the white board.
After all teams define empathy, the instructor will briefly emphasize the
meaning using all posters displayed in order to ensure all students are
comfortable with the word empathy.
This will be followed by a brief introduction, and class objectives and
learning goals.
Show a 4 minute video about the empathy map.
Students are instructed to write notes directly on to the empathy map
template provided, as they watch the video. (An empathy map template is
handed out as support.)
