Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004)
Not worthy of SRK!
As much as I love SRK..this film..well I was going to say sucks.. but thats putting it mildly! For Pete's sake, they even dubbed over SRK's speaking voice! Other than being able to actually look at SRK, there is nothing good about THIS film. Usually one can say "yeah but it had good songs", or "good dances", "a nice ending" or SOMETHING...but this film had SRK and that was it. But even at that, they put these huge glasses on him for some reason. This is one of those films that no amount of editing or re-shooting would have made things any better...story line, cinematography, costumes, sets...the lot...all bad.
I swear they had Rs.10 to make this film!
So save the popcorn and tears of frustration, unless your trying to complete the SRK film list...avoid (as Lucky says in Main Hoon Na...lol).
Deewana (1992)
What a cutie!
First, before one watches this film, one must remember it was one of Shah Rukh Khans first films, filmed in 1992. Therefore, it may seem a bit dated. The clothes, hairstyles (all but SRKs, as his hair is classic and timeless...lol), and dance routines may all seem a bit odd at first, but you soon get use to it, as one would watching a Hollywood film from the sixties.
The viewer must also remember that Shah Rukh Khan is not the star of the film, Kapoor is the star, all be it, an ageing one. Which does make it a bit difficult to believe he could be the love interest and object of desire of young girls. You will have to wait a while before Shah Rukh finally appears on screen, but trust me, it will be well worth the wait.
Although at times one must suspend disbelief through must of the film, this is a very sweet film.
Guddu (1995)
Sweet film
The viewer must remember this film is 10 years old, and at times may seem a bit dated, but it does not distract too much. At times, one must suspend disbelief and allow yourself to be taking on the journey.
Shah Rukh Khan is very watchable in this film, as always; other than the over the top acting in regard to a medical condition...won't say what. :oP
As long as you can allow yourself to be carried along the journey this film takes, and over look the over the top scenes that do occur with increasing frequency toward the end, you will enjoy it. And the ending is very sweet in its attempt to teach us all a small, but ultimately important lesson.
Baazigar (1993)
Good!
This is a good one.
Shah Rukh Khan in a completely different type of role. Very complex and interesting. One is torn between feeling sorry for him, hoping he "gets away with murder", and yet hoping he does get caught and get some much needed help...lol.
Some of the fight scenes are a bit over the top, and it is not one for those who are squeamish at the sight of blood, as towards the end there is a bit.
Kajol is OK, in this film, not one of her better roles, I think. But, I think she is much better than, Shilpa Shetty.
Over all, it is one I recommend.
King Uncle (1993)
Very Sweet!
You will really like this film... If you can get past your first impressions of Pooja Ruparel .... Munna (orphan girl), you will soon come to love this film. Granted Pooja is a bit over the top in her portrayal, a bit like watching the stage production of Annie, but she does seem to manage to steal your heart in the end, just as she does in the film.
Just remember, this is an older film, from Shah Rukh Khan's early days in films, so things may seem a bit dated, but you will soon get past that, and come to love the characters and story.
This is a very sweet film.
Mickybo and Me (2004)
Wonderful!!
I loved this film! The boys were a delight, I laughed so hard, and must admit I saw a bit of my husband as a child in Mickeybo. I enjoyed the adventures, or rather misadventures, of the boys, and enjoyed watching their characters develop. I am sure we all knew a Mickybo when we were kids, and as mad as we might have thought they were at times, we admired them as wished we could be a bit more like them. As for "treacle-coated ending", as one review said, it was no such thing. I felt it showed that things are not always as they seem and through it all, people can learn to to understand and accept each other. And not before time. I highly recommend this film!
