This is a US-Thai collaboration. Ninety-nine per cent of the film was shot in Thailand, but full of American cast. They are not well recognisable cast. Precisely to say, a B movie. And we all know the first rule watching such film, that never expect anything. But if it serves, even least would be a good achievement. Sometimes they do surprise us too. In this case, it was not. It was average, though not bad as you might have heard.
Yep, it was very slow. Especially in the opening segment. A bit confusing as well. Within 10-15 minutes, that problem was solved. Yet the pace of the story posed a great annoyance. So if you get over with that, then you might find it an okay film. As I said, for a such small film, the effort was not bad. That includes the actors. Except the story. Very familiar theme, characters and the whole scenario. You could predict most of the parts, but you know when there's a diversion, you can't say which way particularly it Would head. That's I'm saying because of the ending.
Erik, Joanna, David and Miranda are the central characters. But primarily it focused on the relationship between Erik and Joanna. They are an average young American couple. It all starts when Joanna concerned about her work project. She needs to go to Thailand, and as per the plan, Erik meets her later as what the title meant. So there will be a few weeks gap between them. That's where the tale takes a twist. Being parted, their relationship put to a test. So when finally they meet up again, what will be their position regarding their relationship, is what discloses to us.
❝You were just accidentally funny.❞
Very challenging first quarter to watch, and so the following one. But once you passed that, its a watchable film. Worth a watch too, though not a must see or for everyone. As I always say, if you had seen plenty of films themed romance and relationship, then this will be in some way another boring repetition. But if you watch films rarely, then you need to be patience, in order to enjoy or like it. In the end, I'm saying it again that is not a bad film, they just did not make it in a right way. Trimming a few scenes to make it a quick and shorter film would have made a trick.
As for the story, I feel sorry for Joanna. Of course she did not handle the given situation. But she had a professional pressure. And while fully engaged in that, the people took advantage of it. Then, if you think of Erik, it was mostly a case of misunderstanding and self-discovery. So any tale, especially in romance and relationship, these things are the basic ingredient to lay a platform. The writers should have seen beyond that and tried to add a little fresh perspective.
I hope the director had learnt a lesson. This is his first feature film and I felt he was good, except he did not get best screenplay. I mean the basic story was good, but the screenplay lacks for the production level. What it needed was a bit cheerful. Because the entire stretch was so serious. All it talks about the relations, tried to develop even in a small gap. What I meant was, the narration has a flashback. Not a single flashback, but pieces that attached throughout the film. Those flashback pieces come into play only when the story was going other direction, to remind us with the previous account, how it was before to this point.
A big disadvantage watching it was the intentional scenes and its dialogues. You predict them or not, but surely they have deliberately done them in that way. Particularly in the scenes of jealous, misunderstanding, taking advantages. After watching the whole story, at that point when it reached the final stage, minutes away to conclude, you could still anticipate or curious to know how it's going to end. But that's not a twist or even close to one. For a poor start and average middle part, the final act was fine. Just fine. I would say a fitting end. I always happy to give a try the B movies, and so I did the same for this. But blaming things around it is unnecessary, if you knew the risk you're taking, otherwise don't watch it.

I have to ask myself what drugs were people taking when this movie was given such great reviews? I mean, if this were an 8th grade movie project then maybe, just maybe this would be a 6 at best. Frankly, I would avoid this movie at all costs. It could be 45 minutes shorter and still the viewer would be left bored. Slow moving, a pretty shallow plot, a travel movie to support tourism in Thailand, two wooden actors who look like they are two anorexics in search of acting classes and there you have the basics of this movie that took about 102 minutes out of my life that I will never get back. I would highly recommend this movie as one to ignore and go watch something else with a plot, some meaningful dialogue, and two main characters who actually can portray some moods other than angry or depressed.
You should have stopped reading at the title of my comment. Leave this page and never again look back on this movie, I watched it because of the great rating that this movie has gotten. MAJOR MISTAKE. This was one of the most boring and slow paced movies I've ever watched. This movie has made me a more boring person. It's changed me in ways I cold not explain, run my friends run. Never look back.
Some bored Americans hang around in Thailand with their smartphones, laptops and ipads trying to have a better day. it does not work. no good music, no good scenes. better watch something else or much better, live your own live than watching this... And why do I have to write five lines in my review when there is nothing more to say? there's really no story-line that would be worth being talked about. bored lives in a bored overrated and sensation-flooded world. no spirit, spice and fire anymore...

The movie really reminded me memories of my travel trips and how my relationships were changed. Many people won't understand why they cheated and might call them sluts, but you don't really understand until you are in their shoes. It is a well directed movie and definitely something worth watching if you have traveled and experienced a lot in life already.
I have waited for more than an hour to see why this film has that rating and I don't really understand it. The movie is itself boring, sooooo boring and pretty slow. As I have seen in other review, the first and the only thing you would have to do is run and don't look back. I don't recommend under any circumstance to watching it and at least, for me, it such a waste of time. I don't want to bother to write more lines about this move. It doesn't make any sense.
It is the first time that I am writting a negative critics in Imdb. I usually avoid of expressing my dislikes on movies because I know how hard is film making process. But this film really deserved my negative critics. I watched this movie upon some positive critics. I waited till the middle of the movie. Nothing changed! Firstly, the sound recording is so disturbing. It looks like a student took a video recorder and decided to shoot his term assigment for a short movie. What is it? Is it a romance? Is it a kind of sentimental questioning? Or is it a vacation movie with egzotic backgrund? It can't be none of them. Performance of the artists are so poor. The chosen artists look like fashion models gathered for summer apparels. This movie couldn't catch me. I have been very disappointed about my decision to watch! After movie, I said "It neans that everyone can be director if you got a video recorder and some contacts."
(*) It can be freely broadcast in YouTube. But please as a short movie.

Many have said this movie is rather slow or boring, but I like to think that it's meditative and serene. Saying a movie is slow doesn't really define it well. A travel journey can feel confusing, slow, fast, heartbreaking and exhaustive. Erik & Joanna are young and in love, and whatever happens there will remain in their memories forever. And the feeling left at the end as to what'll occur is sad but wonderful. Whether slow, boring, shitty, beautiful, insightful or experimental, this indie film made me feel. Don't expect Hollywood drama nor sequences that will blow you away, just watch it and watch these people exist in their pensive points in time.

This is an excellent indie adventure drama. The execution of this low budget independent film is very impressive. The script is very solid and the dialogue is real not only because of the writing but because of the cast and direction.
Although it starts of slow and I recommend this film to an indie lover who has not had two glasses of wine before watching, it truly builds more and more and 35 min in, I love the main character and the journey that has begun in Thailand.
The other characters, the backpackers are introduced midway and adds a lot to the pacing of the film.
After finishing it I was left with both emotions and relief.
I highly recommend this film to any art house, indie film lovers also people who like ultra realism in acting and a thought through screenplay. Not too much action I'd say more feeling than through for your mind!

I very much agree with the critic's review regarding 'Til We Meet Again.
It's a well-written peace of art that does not write me on the nose.
I could relate to all characters that are written and directed in such an ultra realistic way. It made me dream myself away and enjoy being abroad for 103 minutes.
Also not the stereotypical happy love drama that I expected, the fact that these films showcase a break up rather than a meeting made me love it!
Please stay with it all the way through and you'll be sure to love it as much as I did! It rings true all the way and the characters that gets introduced half way in brings that main characters to life more when we see a growing change in them!

Till We Meet Again surprised me in many ways, the raw indie feel was more than I expected with a title that resembled something I thought would be a cheesy love drama. This film is much more real than most top tier cast dramas out there and brought more emotions and depth than most films I've seen 2016. Although great reviews I'm surprised this film has not gained more recognition.
A most see if you ask me. Especially you love films like Blue Valentine or Weekend! I also enjoyed that the films take place in New York and Thailand. It gives a little extra value. I'm puzzled by the filmmakers and producers capacity to afford shooting on two continents on 130K.
Very well put together and a beautifully written story with many great scenes! Watch all the way to the end though it starts off a bit slow at first.
