Soap fans are finding their way Beyond the Gates to the Fairmont Crest community, where the people are larger-than-life, and their problems are earth-shattering. The groundbreaking soap started off strong ratings-wise in its premiere week.

The ratings for Beyond the Gates‘ first week in existence are in, and the news is good. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show “averaged 2.28 million cross-platform viewers” from Feb. 24 – 28. These numbers include streaming and other delayed viewings.

Overall, Btg is giving its timeslot competitor, General Hospital, a run for its money. On broadcast TV, the new CBS daytime drama was virtually tied with Gh, racking up a little over 2 million viewers over three days. However, it edged out the Emmy-winning ABC series in key demographics, “including adults and women 25-54.”

All in all, roughly 5.2 million people sampled a few minutes of the show.

While soap opera fans continue to warm up to Beyond the Gates, the new daytime drama received some promising news in terms of Nielsen ratings.

Fairmont Crest Tops Port Charles In The Ratings

As most know, Beyond the Gates (Btg) and General Hospital (Gh) directly compete with each other, as the CBS soap airs at the same time as the ABC daytime drama.

As per a Soap Opera Network report, for the Women 18-49 demographic, Beyond the Gates ranked 6th for the week of February 24-28 (its premiere week) when it came to all daytime broadcast shows and had a rating of 0.25.

Meanwhile, for Women 25-54, it also ranked 6th for the week, averaging a 0.39 rating. Both these numbers reflected an increase from the show that the soap replaced in that CBS timeslot, The Talk.

The CBS daytime drama Beyond the Gates brought a good-sized number of viewers into its world during the show’s premiere week.

The soap opera, the first daytime drama centered on Black characters in more than 35 years, averaged 2.28 million cross-platform viewers for its premiere week, including three days of streaming and other delayed viewing. Beyond the Gates premiered Feb. 24.

On CBS alone, the show averaged a little over 2 million viewers over three days, finishing in a virtual tie with ABC’s General Hospital. It also beat out the long-running ABC series in key demographics, including adults and women 25-54. Streaming added another 272,000 viewers to Beyond the Gates‘ average for the opening week. About 5.2 million people watched at least a few minutes of the show.

Beyond the Gates also significantly outperformed the year-ago ratings for The Talk, which it replaced in CBS’ daytime lineup. The show’s total audience is up by 78 percent vs.

So much is happening in the soap world, and one of the biggest questions right now is whether Jon Lindstrom is done with General Hospital.

In less than a week, Beyond the Gates will debut on CBS. It marks the first hour-long Black soap ever, and it will take over the timeslot The Talk aired in before being canceled last year.

Compared to the same week last year, encores of “The Price is Right” were up substantially from the performance of “The Talk,” which averaged just 1.352 million viewers during the week of February 5-9, 2024. Ironically, that particular week marked one of the better performances for the show compared to its 14th season average among Total Viewers.

According to the press release, CBS and Entertainment Tonight are teaming up to bring soap fans an inside look at Beyond the Gates before the premiere.

Entertainment Tonight correspondent Kevin Frazier and former The Talk host Sheryl Underwood will host the week-long special.

CBS is slated to give soap fans a sneak peek into the world of the new daytime drama series, Beyond the Gates (BTS).

The network has scheduled a five-part behind-the-scenes special titled, “Beyond the Gates”: Welcome to the Neighborhood”.

Since the reimagined game show starring Drew Barrymore first launched on Jan. 16, “Hollywood Squares” has averaged 5.4 million viewers in primetime alone, according to Nielsen most current data, and has reached nearly 24 million unique viewers.

When adding in episodes that aired outside of primetime, the average viewership for “Hollywood Squares” reached 6.84 million across daytime and primetime, growing by 27% from its primetime average.

The show, which stars Drew Barrymore and is hosted by Nate Burleson, debuted to an audience of 5.05 million viewers as it premiered on Thursday, Jan. 16 from 10:00-11:00 p.m. Et/Pt.

It then grew its audience to a whopping 8.36 million viewers on Sunday, Jan. 19 when it aired at 10:00-11:00 p.m. Et/7:00-8:00 p.m. Pt after the AFC Divisional Playoff Game.

According to ratings data released by Nielsen, “Hollywood Squares” topped the performance of former timeslot holder “The Talk” in 12 of the 13 weeks of the show’s 15th and final season among Women 18-49 rating, while tying the chat show for at least one of those weeks.

Similarly, the daytime airings of the game show beat “The Talk” in 11 of the 13 weeks among Women 25-54 rating, and tied the performance of the talker for two of those 13 weeks.

Compared to the same week last year, “Hollywood Squares” was up over the performance of “The Talk,” jumping +0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.27 rating vs. 0.23 rating), but remained flat year-to-year with the talk show among Women 18-49, both with a 0.18 rating.

Among Women 25-54, “The Talk” pulled in a 0.23 rating, on par with its performance one week prior. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54 viewers, the show attracted its third smallest audience of the season with just 145,000 viewers falling within the demo.
