Soap fans are finding their way Beyond the Gates to the Fairmont Crest community, where the people are larger-than-life, and their problems are earth-shattering. The groundbreaking soap started off strong ratings-wise in its premiere week.
Strong Stats
The ratings for Beyond the Gates‘ first week in existence are in, and the news is good. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show “averaged 2.28 million cross-platform viewers” from Feb. 24 – 28. These numbers include streaming and other delayed viewings.
Overall, Btg is giving its timeslot competitor, General Hospital, a run for its money. On broadcast TV, the new CBS daytime drama was virtually tied with Gh, racking up a little over 2 million viewers over three days. However, it edged out the Emmy-winning ABC series in key demographics, “including adults and women 25-54.”
Read This: Here’s what happened in the Thursday, March 6 episode of Btg.
All in all, roughly 5.2 million people sampled a few minutes of the show.

Kelly Ripa makes for a pretty convincing Glinda. A few weeks ago the host was in costume as the “Wicked” character — as portrayed by Ariana Grande in the film — while taping the opening to the upcoming “Live with Kelly and Mark” post-Oscars episode. “The makeup and hair was so real that I FaceTimed Mark, and I FaceTimed my daughter and my daughter’s best friend, and fooled them,” Ripa told Variety. “They thought they were talking to Ariana Grande. Then I opened my mouth, and their entire energy shifted. They were back to treating me like me.
Ripa’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos backed her up: “Yeah, we thought she was Ariana Grande!” (Scroll down to watch the full open.)
Executive producer Michael Gelman said he was worried that Ripa’s transformation was almost too perfect: “At first I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness. Kelly looks so good that...

It’s hard to believe that nearly a year ago next month we learned that a broadcast network had not only discussed the possibility of putting a brand new daytime drama in development but that it had been having ongoing conversations over such a thing for quite a few years.
That network, CBS, formally announced a little show called “The Gates” on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, which would follow the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community.
Created by veteran soap opera writer Michele Val Jean, who would also serve as showrunner, executive producer and head writer, the new soap would be produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP production venture, led by Sheila Ducksworth, in partnership with P&g Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble.

If one of the newest products from consumer-goods giant Procter & Gamble reminds you of something the company made in the 1960s, 70s or 80s, well, there’s good reason.
When “Beyond the Gates” debuts Monday afternoon on CBS, it will mark a return by the company, one of the world’s biggest makers of household staples such as laundry detergent, deodorant and floor cleaner, to the world of soap operas. In a different era, Procter was a producer of some of the genre’s longest-running examples, including “Guiding Light” and “As the World Turns,” and they were as important to Procter as Mr. Clean, Pampers and Tide. P&g is teaming up with a joint venture between CBS and the NAACP to produce the show.

So much is happening in the soap world, and one of the biggest questions right now is whether Jon Lindstrom is done with General Hospital.
In less than a week, Beyond the Gates will debut on CBS. It marks the first hour-long Black soap ever, and it will take over the timeslot The Talk aired in before being canceled last year.
Over the weekend, it was announced that Jon Lindstrom was cast in the role of Joey Armstrong in the upcoming CBS soap.
So, where does that leave his role as Kevin Collins on ABC’s General Hospital?
Because General Hospital doesn’t comment on casting news, we don’t know for sure what will become of Kevin, and Jon has not commented on whether he will be solely focused on Beyond the Gates.
Here’s what we know about Jon Lindstrom and his relationship with General Hospital.
Did Jon Lindstrom leave General Hospital?...

Does any major network do wacky show titles as well as CBS? I don't think so. It's the home of such creatively, chaotically named shows as "Jake and the Fatman," "Gary Unmarried," "Joan of Arcadia," "United States of Al," "Syzyszynk," and -- my personal favorite, name-wise -- "God Friended Me." The network's wacky titles go all the way back to TV's golden age, but their schedule still features several weirdly named shows today. Without giving each of them a watch, it's hard to tell your "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" from your "Bob Hearts Abishola," but one unusually named show made its mark recently with a short but loved two-season run: "So Help Me Todd."

Margot Robbie just revealed the downside to filming that Wolf of Wall Street cash scene. Despite the glam, she had “a million paper cuts.” It turns out that fake money is way more complicated than it looks—not a sexy souvenir.
“Real money is a bit softer, but the fake money is like paper,” Robbie explained in a 2017 interview with The Daily Beast. “I got a million paper cuts on my back from all that money! It’s not as glamorous as it sounds.” As if that wasn’t enough, Robbie revealed the aftermath. “When I got off the bed and turned around to get my robe, everyone gasped,” she recalled. “I said, ‘What is it?’ And they said, ‘You look like you’ve been whipped a million times. Your back is covered in a thousand red scratches.'” Ouch!

Some viewers believed the show would ask some former hosts to appear for the finale, and one such personality included Sharon Osbourne, who acted as a host on the talk show that mirrored The View, from 2010 to 2021.

Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Natalie Morales bid farewell to “The Talk” on Friday as the CBS daytime show aired its series finale after 15 seasons.
Kloots, in particular, found herself tearing up over the emotional episode, as she offered a message to their loyal audience through tears.
“I live with a child, you know, so coming here every day and being able to talk to five, or four people, obviously — five, I’ll include you guys [the audience], cause you’re a part of it — about really fun, silly topics to important topics, but to be able to talk … I’m so grateful for that,” she shared. “I think we can’t forget that. Listen to each other, talk to one another, don’t fight with each other, really appreciate each other’s opinions, because that’s what we got to do everyday. And it was so beautiful.

After 15 seasons, over 2,000 episodes, and a week’s worth of final celebrations, The Talk has closed up shop. A lengthy video montage showed highlights of Underwood’s many episodes, from her comedic to more emotional moments, culminating in a standing ovation for the comedian. The hosts also looked back on what they loved most about their time on the series. Kloots, who started on the show when they were doing...

After 15 seasons (“2,993 episodes to be exact,” according to co-host Natalie Morales), CBS aired its final episode of The Talk on Friday, and the gang did not go quietly.
Amanda Kloots, who became a co-host in 2021 when The Talk was still being done over Zoom, was the first to break down as she reflected on what the show — specifically its title — has meant to her over the years.

The Talk aired its final episode on Friday, December 20. Some viewers will catch it live, while others will stream it the following day on Paramount Plus. But the Og co-hosts won’t be attending the finale. They still have beef with Sheryl Underwood.
Bad Blood
The Talk Og co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen Moonves, and Carrie Ann Inaba will not appear in the final episode. Only the current panel, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales, and Sherly Underwood, will be in attendance. An insider told The U.S. Sun that most of the bad blood stems from Sheryl.
The comedian was previously accused of encouraging a “toxic work environment” and “forcing out” the Og co-hosts. Another insider dished more details on the behind-the-scenes drama. Sharon was asked to return to the talk show but turned it down because of her feud with Sheryl. It turns out she wasn’t the only one.

With ten minutes to go before “The Talk” signed off for good, the champagne was already flowing on set. “The Talk” ended its 15-year run on Friday with one final live episode, and the show’s producers ended the show’s run by gathering its cast and crew on stage for a final, celebratory toast.
The crowd hit the stage to celebrate alongside hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood, as they gave their last farewell.
“We thank you all for watching and laughing, sometimes even crying along with us,” Morales said. “We thank everyone for being here with us. Our wonderful crew here with us every day, to the producing team, to our wonderful, loyal audience. So many of you who have filled these seats day after day, time after time. Our wonderful executive producers past and present. To the most wonderful people here in daytime,...

“I just wanted to know why everyone is being so nice today.”
That’s how host Jerry O’Connell kicked off the final episode Friday of The Talk, which is signing off at 2,993 episodes and 15 seasons on CBS. After receiving raucous applause from the studio audience — a handful of whom have been attending the Studio City, CA. taping of the daytime talk show since day one — host Amanda Kloots choked up as she reflected on how important it’s been to listen to one other and “really appreciate each other opinions.”
“That’s what we got to do everyday,” Kloots said through tears. “It’s about talking, not fighting, and being apart of each other’s family.”
For host Sheryl Underwood, her 14 seasons on the show has been about “fashion evolution.” “You’ve seen things happening for me,” said Underwood, who later admitted off-camera that she never really learned to walk in heels.

“The Talk” executive producer Rob Crabbe is getting a little too familiar with TV goodbyes. A year and a half after his previous talker, “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” signed off, he’s now doing the same thing on Friday with “The Talk.”
It’s a different kind of show, and therefore a different kind of goodbye. But still, there are similarities to the sign-off. “The emotional undercurrent of what the shows were trying to accomplish is the same,” Crabbe told Variety. “You’re trying to express joyfulness. You’re trying to make people feel something. And with ‘The Talk,’ we’re giving everybody a little break in their day, the routine of it. This is a respite in your day, where you can come and laugh and watch five people that really like each other have a really good time on television. That emotional currency will be...
