Demise is a movie that makes you uncomfortable in a good way. I found it compelling, shocking and a well oiled emotional train wreck you can't look away from. I found the acting fantastic, especially that of Liz Fenning, the actress who played Celine. I was invested in the story from beginning till end and found this not so typical complicated love story to be sexy, edgy and realistic. Demise is not your average cookie cutter romantic thriller and that's what sets it apart and makes it good. I thought direction was great, the cast, music. All of which bundled together in superb editing makes "Demise" a psychological rollercoaster that is unforgettable.

What I loved most about this film was how it evoked memories of one of my all-time favorites, "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle." Writer and director Yara Estrada Lowe masterfully blends elements of suspense and psychological intrigue, crafting a modern-day, more seductive thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. With its captivating storyline and intense performances, this movie promises an unforgettable cinematic experience that's perfect for a thrilling night in with your significant other. Even better, the movie grows on you with each viewing, revealing new layers and nuances that make it even more compelling the second or third time around.

I love a good date night movie with lies, deceit and lots of twists and turns. If you do too you will love this movie. This is the directorial debut for Yara Estrada Lowe and she does a terrific job. She captures the genre perfectly and gives us a spicy dramatic tale. She also wrote this movie which is all the more impressive. It moves along at a nice pace and has just the right amount of suspense and twists. The cast is great lead by Carlo Mendez who gives a great performance. Without giving anything away he really had me wondering if his character was a nice guy who was confused or just a womanizing jerk. Liz Fenning and Crystal Hernandez are also very strong as the female leads. I recommend this movie and can't wait to see what Yara does next.

I absolutely loved Demise!!
It's an incredibly entertaining film that had me glued to my seat from start to finish. Without spoiling anything, I have to say the twists took me completely by surprise-I did not see them coming at all! The acting is particularly impressive, with Liz Fenning delivering a standout performance. Playing such a complex character must have been challenging, but she absolutely nailed it.
You can really tell how much heart went into this, a great movie for a fun lil movie night. If you're considering watching Demise, I highly encourage you to do so! It's a thrilling ride that will keep you engaged and guessing throughout.

This movie offers a truly fantastic storyline, packed with imaginative twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout. The plot is both creative and original, making it a standout in its genre. While the film is compelling, I believe the runtime could have been trimmed slightly to maintain a tighter pace, which would have enhanced the overall experience. Additionally, a bit more focus on character development-particularly exploring the motivations of one of the main characters earlier on-could have added an extra layer of depth to the story.
The acting, for the most part, was a highlight, with several strong performances that brought the characters to life. However, the portrayal of the wife felt a little over the top at times, which momentarily pulled me out of the movie's otherwise immersive atmosphere. Even so, the film as a whole delivered an entertaining and memorable journey, showcasing a creative approach to storytelling that deserves recognition.

The cast is great and the lead actor was perfect for the role! Highly recommend - the comments with the spoilers that the plot is predictable are not true, you won't see it coming. I'm a chick and assume that some of the jealous comments about the lead actor are from trolling beta men who don't have abs or charm or uber handsome face like him and who would never get away with what he did in the film - he is hot, cute and fun and carried the whole film with the two gorgeous female actors - but also the smaller roles were great!
The movie manages to evoke empathy for the seriously flawed leading man which I found surprising - I usually take sides quickly when a make character acts out of place and hurts women but as I said, the actor did a great job and I still rooted for him throughout the film. A refreshing approach in a world that is so divisive and the characters showed many layers and revealed why people act in certain ways - I really couldn't condemn him at all, despite his lying.
On a totally different note, both actresses in the love triangle are stunningly gorgeous and so talented. Also I was really glad to see Latino culture in a new light without the usual low budget look, but instead a mainstream feel - finally Latinas shown with great careers and there are still little details like the bodega or family celebrations that show that the director knows and loves the culture! Truly enjoyed it and I watched the film a few times and still see new details.

I can tell you that Yara Estrada Lowe is a rising star. She put her all into this movie. The stellar directing, writing, photgraphy, the perfTo ect cast to make each character come alive and make this movie shine bright like a diamond. When I watched this movie, I was completely mad at each character..lol. After watching this movie, I gave my own standing ovation. I hope FOX or ABC picks this up and make it into episodes because this is too good and worth it! Each Actor/Actress did this movie justice. Carlos Mendez, you brought your A game and delivered a Oscar and or Emmy Award worthy performance.
