So, despite something as momentous as India’s win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup, we didn’t get a slew of films around that topic. Registrations are now open for the 2013 edition of India Film Project. To be held from September 20-28, India Film Project is a platform for amateurs and professional filmmakers to take a challenge and make a film in duration of only 48 hours.

At the beginning of 48 hours, Friday, September 20, 8pm, a common theme and genre will be given to participating teams. These teams shall script, shoot, edit and submit the film by Sunday, September 22, 8pm. Apart from filmmaking competition, the project will also feature a 5-day film festival online, workshops by eminent filmmakers and technicians, film marketing related panel-discussions, cinema exhibitions, etc.

Mumbai, June 27: Filmmaker Nikhil Advani says he is "comfortable" working with a veteran like Rishi Kapoor, but admits the actor is a "tough taskmaster" to handle.

Rishi, 60, has an important role in Advani's new crime thriller "D-Day".

It was a year of transition as well, where indie films rose up and featured fabulous acting and where the publicity machine for the biggies went into overdrive with lacklustre results. All through this, these actors all brought searing, novel, and dedication to their roles which offered them a chance to prove their mettle. Here’s to some of the men that entertained us over the year:

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and take a look at the jodis that we loved, the ones we didn’t quite enjoy and also those that made their own category in between the two extremes.

2011 was a great year for music in the Hindi film industry with an eclectic mix of styles, moods, vibes, beats, fresh new sounds and cool grooves. The songs ranged from romantic ballads, to full on rock, to the playful, the funny, the traditional, the internationally flavored ones and everything in-between and even some with the track tinged with a little bit of each. So many of the soundtracks this year were so good that it was not just one song that was killer good, it was most of them. Because so many albums this year were such a good collection of brilliant songs, think Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Delhi Belly, Rockstar and more, we had a tough time limiting ourselves to 25 Best Songs of the year, so we thought why try and decided to go with 50! No one does a mass entertainer quite like Mika Singh and 2011 was no different with crowd-pleasing hits like like ‘Desi Beats’ (Bodyguard), ‘Dhinka Chika’ (Ready), ‘Saj Dhaj Ke’ (Mausam), ‘Pyaar Do’ (Thank You), ‘F.A.L.T.U’ and ‘Hero’ (Desi Boyz).

Shankar Mahadevan began the year with a brilliant desi/urban mesh-up, ‘Rola Pe Gaya’ (Patiala House) and followed through with thought provoking ‘Der Lagi’ (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara) and ‘Roshni’ (Aarakshan). However, it was the obscure ‘Chand Pal Ke Humsafar’ (Mod) that was the most impressive.

The forthcoming Imran Khan (I Hate Luv Storys) and Kareena Kapoor (Ra.One) starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu has Amit Trivdei as its composer and Amitabh Bhattacharya as lyricist. The recent unveiling of the theatrical trailer points to a predictable new age romantic comedy trying hard to disguise itself as an off-beat/indie love story.
