Born in North Adams, Ma, Hansis and his family moved to Greenfield when he was in the third grade. He began performing in theater camp as a child. He later attended Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick before attending Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated with a BA in acting from the School of Drama.

Hansis has appeared in guest roles on several television series, including The Mentalist and FBI, and starred in the 2011 thriller, Occupant, which premiered at the Gotham Screen International Film Festival in New York City in 2011.

Prime Video has officially ordered two seasons of Scarpetta, more than 18 months after Nicole Kidman’s name was first attached to the series adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta novels.

Kidman will indeed headline the mystery-thriller as medical examiner Kay Scarpetta, who returns to Virginia, and her former job, amid complex personal and professional relationships — including the one with her sister, Dorothy, to be played by recent Emmy winner Jamie Lee Curtis.

Prime Video is hitting the books once again.

The Amazon-owned streamer has greenlit Scarpetta, a crime drama based on author Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling series of novels about Virginia medical examiner Kay Scarpetta. The series, in the works for more than a year, landed a two-season order at Prime Video; Nicole Kidman will play the title character and star opposite Jamie Lee Curtis. Kidman and Curtis will also be executive producers.

In addition to Kidman and Curtis, the show has lined up an A-list cast that includes Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen and Jake Cannavale.

Blumhouse Television, which along with Curtis acquired rights to Cornwell’s novels in 2021, is producing the series along with Amazon MGM Studios, Kidman’s Blossom Films and Curtis’ Comet Pictures. The Mentalist star Simon Baker has avoided a conviction despite pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. As reported by NBC News, Baker appeared at the Mullumbimby Local Court in New South Wales, Australia, on Wednesday, September 11, where he admitted to drunk driving in an incident on July 20. He was released on a nine-month good behavior bond with no conviction recorded. In a statement from the New South Wales Police, obtained by People, police stopped a man driving a gray Tesla on Booyung Road at Nashua on July 20 at around 2:10 am. after he was seen driving “in an alleged erratic manner.” “Officers spoke to the driver and sole occupant, a 55-year-old man, before subjecting him to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result,” the police stated. “Due to an extensive system outage across the country, the man was subjected to a sobriety test that was conducted at the scene.

Two Dick Wolf joints, CBS’ FBI and NBC’s Chicago Med, have named new showrunners for their coming seasons, our sister site Deadline reports.

Last month it was announced that Rick Eid was stepping down as showrunner of FBI, after having launched the hit drama six years ago.

The Kathy Bates-led reboot of "Matlock" may not hit TV screens for a while longer, but in the meantime, fans of the much-loved legal drama can still catch old episodes of the original run, well, pretty much everywhere. For cable-watchers, the show airs reruns in syndication, while home media junkies can get a DVD box set and those who prefer to stream can catch all nine seasons on Prime Video or PlutoTV.

"Matlock" aired for nine years, moving from NBC to ABC partway through its run and switching up its cast list throughout. Though several actors played more than one character throughout the series' run, only a handful appeared in more than 30 episodes of the series, most of them as Ben Matlock's legal associates. Amazon Prime Video’s “Butterfly” TV series, starring Daniel Dae Kim, has cast five additional actors in recurring and guest star roles.

Sean Dulake, Kim Ji-hoon and Charles Parnell join the series as recurring characters, while Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa are set to guest star.

Other previously announced cast members of the cast include Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo, Louis Landau, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee and Nayoon Kim.

“Butterfly,” an adaptation of the graphic novel written by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, is a character-driven spy thriller focusing on Kim’s character, David Jung, an “enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him.”

Neva Howell takes over from Daine Lane as Martha Kent and Pruitt Taylor Vince has landed the role of Jonathan Kent. The role of Superman’s mother was also portrayed by Phyllis Thaxter in the 1978 film and Eva Marie Saint in the 2006 film. The Georgia-born actress joined the production of Gunn’s film, currently progressing in her hometown.

I can’t say that’s who I expected to play Clark Kent’s adoptive human father in the movie, but I’ve always been a big fan of the actor, who has appeared in everything from The X-Files to Deadwood to The Walking Dead.

Pruitt Taylor-Vince will join the long line of actors who have brought Jonathan Kent to life in movies and television, including Glenn Ford in the original Superman movie, John Schneider in Smallville, Kevin Costner in Man of Steel, and many more. As I mentioned above, Taylor-Vince might not feel like the obvious choice for the role, but he’s a true talent and I hope fans give him a chance.

After months of testing, Disney has made it official with the launch of Hulu on Disney+. This new one-app experience will bring a significant portion of Hulu’s on-demand and next-day streaming libraries to the company’s flagship streaming service Disney+. While the beta tests that launched in December gave many subscribers an opportunity to check out what this new evolution of Disney streaming was all about, now that it is live for Disney Bundle subscribers in the United States, The Streamable is giving you a first look at the refreshed platform and diving into what content is and isn’t available.

The 54-year-old Australian actor – best known for his roles in The Devil Wears Prada and The Mentalist – walked along the beach after going for a dip in the ocean on Thursday afternoon (March 14) at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

For his beach outing, Simon showed off his fit physique while going shirtless in a blue bathing suit.

After drying off, Simon put on a cream-colored button-down shirt and tan hat as he left the beach and headed home.

A few months ago, Simon was seen enjoying another day at the beach with one of his three kids.

Best known for leading roles on Fox’s Prison Break, CBS’s The Mentalist and The Fix, ABC’s legal drama co-created by famed attorney Marcia Clark, Tunney was most recently seen recurring opposite Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling on Jason Katims’ Apple TV+ drama series Dear Edward, based on Ann Napolitano’s novel of the same name.

The actress made her film debut opposite Brendan Fraser in 1992’s Encino Man and quickly rose to prominence with roles in cult classics like Empire Records, The Craft and Niagara, Niagara, for which she was nominated for Gotham and Independent Spirit Awards.

Most recently appearing on the film side in Jeff Baena’s film Horsegirl starring Allison Brie, Tunney continues to be repped by Gersh.

Mitchell was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Als) in August 2018 and has been bound to a wheelchair since October 2019. The actor publicized his diagnosis in February 2020.
