Lady Gertrude has had enough of being posted into a backwater town far away from Vienna.

When she hears news that Gessler has issued a proclamation that anyone catching William Tell will be immediately promoted to a General.

Gertrude plans to lure Hedda into a trap. Her sister lives in the same district and she will send a false message to Hedda that she need to come down immediately.

William Tell needs to come down to rescue Heeda from being executed.

Harriette Johns is a hoot as the Lady Macbeth like Gertrude.

William Tell should had been more careful to let his wife go off like that.
