You may not recognize this Hollywood hunk from this old-school photo he recently tweeted. Now he’s all grown-up ... and seriously buff.Yup, it's Stephen Amell of "Arrow" fame. Stephen, a Canada native, got his start starring on gay (as in Lgbt) TV shows "Dante's Cove" and "Queer as Folk" before appearing in a slew of CW dramas like "Vampire Diaries" and "90210." Last year, he was tapped to play the superhero archer in his own series.Stephen has been approached to play Christian Grey in the big-screen adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey," which could solidify him as a superstar. But judging by his insane good looks and body, we're sure he already has a huge following.Click on the "Launch Gallery" above to see more stars before they were famous. Phew -- I just surveyed the upcoming fall season of network TV and realized there are a sufficient number of hotties to keep us occupied 'til spring. One problem: There's very little diversity to go around, and that's an upsetting fact. Come on, network TV. It's time to not suck.
But without further ado, here are your ten best hotties of the fall season. And who better to land at #1 than an out and proud dude with acting chops galore?
10. Ed Weeks (Fox's The Mindy Project)
Primarily, The Mindy Projet is a showcase for Mindy Kaling's aw-shucks-y humor and deadpan delivery, but could it be a breakout vehicle for Ed Weeks, who plays Kaling's British, "Hugh Grant-like" coworker?
9. Jesse Bradford (NBC's Guys With Kids)
This 33-year-old alum of Swimfan and Flags of Our Fathers was last seen in the failed NBC drama Outlaw with Jimmy Smits, but I'm rooting...

Last month, as the fate of ABC's Gcb hung in the balance, we were worried it would become a member of the "Gone Too Soon" club, TV shows that were snuffed out before they had a chance to flourish, or at least before we had a chance to grow tired of them.
Sadly, Gcb has gone to that big Upn in the sky, where it can run happily in the meadow with the likes of Firefly, Pushing Daisies, and Manimal.
While we mourn Gcb's loss, let's take a look at more shows that were ended too quickly. They were unappreciated at the the time, but they were either too good or too ... interesting ... not to have been offered the opportunity to flourish. Or flame out. Which is just as good.

Filmmaker David DeCoteau has become famous for two things - creating his own genre of film (boxer briefs horror), and for casting hot young actors who may or may not go on to bigger things, but more than likely would rather have all evidence of their involvement (see above) wiped from their resumes.
Under a myriad of alternate names (my favorite being Richard Chasen), David has brought us such memorable trash as The Brotherhood Series, Leeches!, Wolves Of Wall Street, and well, too many to list. If you go further down his filmography, you'll find a soft core classic (Leather Jacket Love Story), and some more ... directly sexual films.
But for whatever reason, David has turned his attention to carving out his own niche, and is now expanding on it with an ambitious new series of films titled 1313. They combine those DeCoteau...

Warning: This article contains minor spoilers about the upcoming season of Hung.
There's a new male prostitute in town, and he's young, hot, and maybe even heteroflexible – all things that are quite threatening to Ray Decker, the football-coach-turned-gigalo at the center of Hung, the provocative HBO series about a man whose most valuable asset is in his pants.
The show's star, Thomas Jane, raised eyebrows last month with some intemperate remarks that seemed to indicate that the actor had issues with same-sex sexuality as well.
"I told HBO, the year I end up with a penis in my mouth is the last year of the show," he said. "If they want to keep me around, there's certain guidelines they have to follow. Not all of us can be bloodsucking vampires. That's not all they're sucking, you know!"

What's Jon Fleming, of the deliciously gory slasher opus Camp Slaughter (aka Camp Haze) and the recently released Frat House Massacre, all about? ....Well in his own words - Sex, drugs and rock and roll. Ever since starring in Camp Slaughter, Jon Fleming has either surprised, shocked or titillated horror fans either playing the type of killers that audiences love to hate, a love interest in the cult favorite Dante's Cove or using his sex appeal to provoke a response. Jon Fleming is certainly one actor that can't be labeled as boring. We here at Big Daddy Horror Reviews will be keeping an eye out to see what bold movie Mr. Fleming will be making next. In the meantime, check out what Jon Fleming had to say when we picked apart his brain with this interview.
So who is Jon Fleming and what are you all about?
Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

Anderson Cooper will interview Gerard Depardieu (who inspired his uncontrollable giggles on his old nighttime show) on his new daytime show, . The question is how polite-to-a-fault Cooper can manage to be in the interview without cracking up to Depardieu's face.
Universal has bought the rights to 364 for Ron Howard to direct. While details are slim, the title refers to the 364 days out of the year that a man plans what heroic acts he will perform on the one day of the year he has super powers. It's unclear if he's the only one who gets powers for a day, or if everyone does. But it does pose an interesting question: What would you do if you got super powers one day each year?
The new Tea Party Michigan governor has signed into law a new bill that will limit welfare benefits to 48 months, after which, I guess you become starving and homeless.

The 1996 film Foxfire was based on a novel by best-selling author Joyce Carol Oates. Though the film had no outright lesbian content, it was very much about the relationships between the young women, and their love for one another surpassed friendship, bringing them to a point of commitment secured by tattoos and general bad-assery. Bonded by their rebelling against a predatory teacher, they found one another to be a safe haven from the judgmental high school halls.
So whatever happened to those girls who ran with foxes?
Hedy Burress (Maddy, the photographer who hates her teacher)
Since Foxfire, Hedy has largely worked in television, notably in her roles as Joanie Moore on ER and as Laurie Cooper on Southland. She also does a lot of voiceover work for video games, including Final Fantasy and Terminator Salvation.
Angelina Jolie (Legs, the drifter with an attitude)

Daniel Dugan, Marray Bartlett
Two of the leading actors in the new gay indie film August, Murray Bartlett and Adrian Gonzalez, have at least a brief history in the world of soap operas (All My Children and The Bold and the Beautiful, respectively). It's an interesting coincidence, because — its moody atmosphere and obvious arthouse pretensions aside — the movie is angst-y and full of impossibly pretty boys, just like, well, a soap opera.
On the other hand, what's the problem with that? Trust me: you've never seen a soap opera quite this "gay" before, nor have you ever seen one this joyously sensual.
Five years ago, Troy (Bartlett) and Jonathan (Daniel Dugan) were in the middle of a passionate relationship — but it was not a healthy relationship for Jonathan, who almost lost himself in Troy's smoldering sensuality. Maybe it was a good thing Troy eventually dumped Jonathan and moved to Spain.

Stephen in The Vampire Diaries
Who's that gigolo on the street, with his hands in his pockets and his crocodile feet?
It's none other than Canadian hunk Stephen Amell, who will join the cast of HBO's Hung when the show comes back for its Third Season in October.
Specifics are sketchy, but we do know that Stephen will play the new hooker in town, and find himself in competition with wide-wanged Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane), who may have to break with his "no gay sex" vow in order to keep up with the new guy's open-minded business principle:
"But when a rival anything-goes gigolo hones in on Ray's territory in Hung's third season, Ray inches closer to the forbidden Lgbt zone. Mid-season, he'll bed down with a pre-op transgender receptionist named Kyla before contemplating a full same-sex encounter."
It's best to skip the rest of that article. It's a bit cringe-inducing.

John Barrowman talks about the new season of Torchwood: Miracle Day, saying “I’m naked in one episode – I am full-on naked. I am bumping and grinding in this one. I am having man sex. The true die-hard fans know Jack is omnisexual – he likes men and women. People who tune into this series will just think Jack is gay, because he just has full-on man sex. It was really fun. One day, I get to shoot a helicopter and save the world, and a couple of days later, I get to have sex with a 24-year-old. It’s the most perfect job in the world.”

Frat House Massacre Synapse Entertainment is getting set to unleash director Alex Pucci's (Camp Slaughter) latest horror film effort onto an unsuspecting movie public. Filled with all sorts of sordid situations including tasteless nudity & sexual situations, brutal hazings, disco dancing and, for good measure, a few thoughtful moments of character development, Frat House Massacre stood out as one of the ten best horror films of 2000 -2009. And now it is finally coming to DVD in its Uncut version!
During its theatrical and festival run, Frat House Massacre was presented in both 95 minute and 116 minute versions. Frat House Massacre will be arriving to DVD in the latter version (116 mins.) on August 9th. Special features include:
• Audio commentary by Pucci
• Audio commentary by the crew
• Making-of featurette
• Deleted scenes
The two male leads of Frat House Massacre are both veterans of campy horror themselves. Rane Jameson starred in Skullheads for Full Moon Entertainment.

As science-fiction fans, the concept is classic: What if you really did have a chance to fix the mistakes of your past. Would you do it? Could you do it? Hell, would you even recognize that you actually made mistakes in the first place? Those are the questions Carlos Pedraza posed in his screenplay for "Judas Kiss," an independent film starring Charlie David ("Dante's Cove"), Richard Harmon ("Caprica," "The Killing"), Sean Paul Lockhart ("Milk") and Timo Descamps ("Spring"). Pedraza, best known to genre fans for his work in online productions such as "Star Trek: New Voyages" and "Star Trek: Hidden Frontier," made a huge leap to the big screen ... and survived to tell about it. What can you say about "Judas Kiss" without giving away the store. It's hard to do. What I can tell ...

A Teaser trailer has been released for the supernatural horror film Blood Fare whose cast includes sci-fi icon Gil Gerard, star of the classic series Buck Rogers.
But Gerard isn't waking up in the glossy space-age future of the 25th century this time. The indie horror flick, from writer/director Ja Steel and co-producer Christian K. Koch, is described as a Civil War ghost story with a modern twist, as you can see from the trailer below.
It centres on Corporal Henry Trout (S. Edward Meek; Wild Stallion), who in 1861 fought valiantly in a forgotten skirmish after the first battle of Bull Run. He comes face to face with his descendants as the battle for blood continues on a haunted battlefield 150 years later.
Tyler and her brother Chad (Adrian West), Henry's fifth generation grandchildren, "will challenge the very legend of Charon the Ferryman, as the lines between the living and the dead become blurred.

Tyler and her brother Chad (Adrian West), Henry's fifth generation grandchildren, "will challenge the very legend of Charon the Ferryman, as the lines between the living and the dead become blurred.

Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (right) in Baby Jane
How's this for a provocative take on Joan Crawford? Although she is one of the most-written-about women of the 20th century (and the subject of the most famous celebrity tell-all of all time, Mommie Dearest, written by her daughter Christina), much of what was written about her was ... an outright lie, or at least partially wrong.
That's the very interesting perspective behind Possessed: The Life of Joan Crawford by Donald Spoto (William Morrow, $25.99).
Spoto is a long-time biography veteran with dozens of other titles to his name (about Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and many others). But he seems to have a particular affinity for Joan, and even opens the book with her very kind and detailed response to a fan letter he wrote to her when he was eleven years old.
What's been written about Joan that isn't true?...

Here at Twitterwatch, mostly what we watch is celebrities. We don't really get out to the theater, or sit back in or recliners watching movies. We stare at a continuous stream of tweets, just hoping that something funny will cross our screen to share with you.
When Randy Rainbow, met Miss Coco Peru, he had nothing but good things to say about her show, which I'm betting means she had nothing but bad things to say in her show. But the fun kind of bad things, best said over martinis.

I assuming that Gavin Creel is talking about the opening of Pee Wee's Playhouse on Broadway, but his phrasing made me giggle, because I'm 12-years-old.

Canadian actor Stephen Amell, British actor Aiden Turner and Australian actor Liam McIntyre have emerged as the three main candidates to replace outgoing leading man Andy Whitfield in Starz' "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" series reports Deadline.
Whitfield had to drop out of the ancient Roman gladiator-themed cable series in order to receive further treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma which it was previously announced that he had managed to recover from.
Starz apparently had been heavily weighing up its options and ultimately have decided to recast the role for the second season. Last month "Prison Break" star Wentworh Miller apparently expressed interest, however that deal never seemed to materialise.
All three candidates are being flown to New Zealand for screen tests and to meet with the show's cast and crew with the final decision expected as early as the end of this week.

I've got two late additions to today's Queerview. Nightline is going to air a two part report on a Texas retreat to help people deal with their unwanted same-sex attractions. And while you were probably going to watch How I Met Your Mother tonight anyhow, we've been told Scooter aka David Burtka is making an appearance. Last night on Fox's Animation Domination, we had three gay jokes. Since so many people say we have no sense of humor when it comes to Family Guy and American Dad, I wanted to say that I found two funny, and one just O.K. Feel free to check them out and let us know what you think in the poll. Another One Two Bites The Dust
After making it until nearly November without losing one of our new TV 'mos, the ax fell this week on not one, but two gay characters. Getting pinkslipped first was Alejo on ABC's The Whole Truth followed by Sam Adama on Caprica.
And that just sucks Imho. While neither show is perfect, I have to say it's disheartening to live in a world where Charlie Sheen gets to wreak havoc and Two and a Half Morons still continues to rake in bucks and ratings. Meanwhile, two of the more interesting and well-developed gay characters in quite some time can't even manage two dozen episodes between them.
But the news isn't all bad. As I mentioned in the last column, this week saw the addition of Jesse on HBO's In Treatment. Trust me when I say Jesse is going to make United States of Tara...

Aahh! Giant leeches! They're ripping my clothes off!
Halloween is nearly upon us once again, and for some of us it conjures memories we would rather keep suppressed. For instance, the little boy who went out one Halloween wearing a Thundarr mask he got from Woolworth and a fabulous sun sword he made from a whiffle bat.
The night went well until he got home and emptied the contents of his goodie bag and found 2 business cards, 3 mini-bibles, used wax lips, a brown banana, and someone's dentures. Oh, and worst of all - candy corn.
Needless to say, that child was scarred for life from properly celebrating the gayest holiday of them all.
Fortunately, the energy he could have spent trick-or-treating every year was instead spent becoming a horror aficionado, with a special focus on the hot guys that provided eye candy in between the, well, horror.

This Is Still CBS. So Let's Not Get Carried Away...
I know we're only a couple of weeks into the fall television season, but it seems like there is already a fair bit to say about what is working ... and what isn't.
First the bad news for the two of you watching ABC's The Whole Truth. While it won't be the first show to get canceled (hello, Lone Star and My Generation!) it looks pretty well doomed. Which is a shame as Alejo (Anthony Ruviviar) is pretty great and last week's episode not only featured a funny moment in a strip club where he made it very clear he wasn't interested in the ladies shaking their bon-bons, but the episode also frequently referenced the fact Alejo is gay in completely casual ways. It truly seems like a shame we're never going to get to see where this character might have gone.

July 1st is Canada Day, and we thought we'd take a moment to honor our friends to the north. Canada has always seemed like a friendlier version of the U.S., and is far ahead of us when it comes to marriage-equality. Plus they've given us such fabulous pop culture treasures as Sctv, The Kids In The Hall, Degrassi, Bumper Stumpers, You Can't Do That On Television and Ryan Reynolds.
Most importantly, they taught as that no one, no one! can take away our right to fight and to never surrender.
Canada can also be proud of their contributions to gay visibility, and we're spotlighting some of those men here. This is just a smattering of the out Canadians we admire, and feel free to add your own favorites.
Btw, we haven't forgotten about Canadian lesbian icons k.d. Lang and Tegan & Sara, but this list is just about dudes.

Brent Corrigan will star in the mainstream gay film "Judas Kiss", set to begin shooting in Seattle on August 13, 2010. Also starring is Charlie David of "Dante's Cove" and Richard Harmon of the Syfy Channel's hit show "Caprica." The film is scheduled to start the film festival circuit in January 2011.
"Judas Kiss" is about taking risks, seeking second chances, and finding the inspiration to succeed in an ever-evolving gay society. This is Brent's breakout role and he is already pouring himself into developing his character.
Four years in development, the screenplay is written by Carlos Pedraza and J.T. Tepnapa, already veteran filmmakers. The quality of their work is apparent on their You Tube Channel. Tepnapa, an award-winning director of short films, will direct Judas Kiss.
Principal funding by private investors to shoot the film on location in Seattle is nearly secured, though investment units for funding post-production costs are still available.

Fred Olen Ray has just announced plans for the flick on his Retromedia message board, and an official Sasquatch vs. Chupacabra website is already online.
There's nothing on the website other than a "contact us" link and the following:
From director Fred Olen Ray (Sea Snakes, Turbulent Skies, The Lair) and producer Kimberly A. Ray (Woke Up Dead, Komodo Vs Cobra, Megaconda, Dante's Cove).
No other details at this time aside from the temporary artwork you see below. But it's Bigfoot grappling with a goatsucker; what more do you need?

Digital auditions via IMDb, Facebook and Skype facilitated the cross-Atlantic casting of Belgian star Timo Descamps.
Los Angeles -- Rising European actor, television host and pop singer Timo Descamps has been cast in the time-bending campus drama, "Judas Kiss," the film's producers announced today.
The 23-year-old Belgian was recognized last year by the preeminent Dutch and Belgian musical awards. Nominated in both nations, he won the Belgian award for Rising Talent. Descamps recently began a stint as a host on Belgium's VT4 channel.
In "Judas Kiss," Descamps will play Shane Lyons, an amoral college senior who will do whatever it takes to win the love of film student Danny Reyes. But it’s true: plenty of viewers were perplexed by the curious case of the pixilation of the underwear of Amazing Race’s hot gay brothers.

Q: One of my friends has recently turned me on to country music (I am not sure whether to thank him yet or not). Are there any who are out, or who are known to have a positive relationship with the Lgbt community? -- Megan, Canton, Ohio
A: No out mainstream acts, but some country acts have been open, vocal supporters of us – most notably, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw, and even Marie Osmond (who, as we all know, is both “a little bit country” and the mother of a lesbian). And, of course, most of the cool alt-country acts that I personally adore are on record as supporting us: Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, etc.
But can I just say?...

Julia Jones and BooBoo Stewart are the latest casting additions to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and will be playing the roles of brother and sister team Leah and Seth Clearwater.

Stewart is a 15-year-old Californian, with a varied acting resume that includes the TV shows Dante's Cove and Everybody Hates Chris. Both actors look like they could easily be part of the Quileute Indian Tribe, and should fit in nicely with Taylor Lautner and Co.
Jodelle Ferland has also been officially announced for the role of vampire Bree, after much fan speculation about which part she would play. What do you think of the new castings? Is this how you imagined the characters? We're betting Twilighters everywhere have breathed a huge sigh of relief that Vanessa Hudgens won't be...

In other words, yes, your prayers have finally been answered, and you’ve finally managed to shut me up!

A New comic book is being launched by American actor and reality TV star Reichen Lehmkuhl.
The 35-year-old is a former Air Force captain who moved into acting after he won the fourth series of Us reality game show The Amazing Race.
He is now penning a new action adventure comic, The Wasps, and is also set to star in a film adaptation of the story.
The Wasps is inspired by the exploits of Lehmkuhl's grandmother, Betty Turner Stagg, who was a member of Wasp (Women Airforce Service Pilots) - a group of thousands of civilian female aviators employed to fly military aircraft on non-combat missions during the Second World War, in order to free up male pilots for combat service.
The comic, to be published by Bluewater Productions next year, is a time-travel tale that follows the adventures of a modern-day Air Force pilot trapped back in 1942. The hero fights Nazis,...

Since a bunch of you have asked, no, Series 4 of Dante's Cove has not started shooting yet. I checked. It is still in development for a Fall shoot. It's still a money-maker for Regent/here! so there's little doubt that cameras will roll on the naked and nearly naked flesh of all the denizens of DC sometime this year.
Dantes isn't one of my favorite shows. I applaud every year that another season gets produced. I truly love the fact that queer genre is being made, year in and year out. Like with the The Lair, it's awesome that there's an audience for the supernatural shenanigans on both shows. I just wish both shows were... better. Better written, better acted, better produced. I want our stuff to be great, regardless of the gayness of it. I've never been convinced that Dantes or The Lair does that.
I've posted below the...

Q: So Gregory Michael, who plays gay on Dante’s Cove, is now playing Calvin’s love interest on Greek. So what gives? Gay guy or just a really cool straight one? – Jason, Milwaukee, Wi
A: A really cool straight one.
“I didn't have any reservations about it being gay or what kind of character it was,” Gregory tells AfterElton.com. “Just, ‘It's another role – are you ready to do it?’ You look at everything. I just got back from the holidays [when I did it]. Did I eat too much? Am I going to look good? You look at those things, not, ‘Oh, I'm doing another gay role.’”
Gregory Michael
Interestingly, Gregory didn’t even consider the aspect of doing two prominent gay roles until his manager said to him, "You know you're doing another gay role.

MSNBC (of all places) has an article up about creepy Dante's Cove vampire actor Dylan Vox making the leap from porn to sucessful "legit" film and TV work.
And then there’s actor Dylan Vox: After a successful career in gay porn under the name “Brad Benton,” he’s managed to find work on the campy cable horror soap “The Lair” and in various independent feature films. “I think people get hung up on where you came from as opposed to where you’re going,” notes Vox, 30, about his unusual entrée into show business.
The article took its launching point from Steven Soderbergh's new film The Girlfriend Experience, which stars porn starlet Sasha Grey in the lead in a decidely non-porn film. Article author Alonso Duralde suggests that porn now is just another way into the acting world and quotes Vox about it: "I have a following — it may not be a conventional following,...

It's like a match made in Hell.
CW has announced that the new The Vampire Diaries, about immortal brothers lusting over a human girl, with air back to back with classic genre fave Supernatural, about mortal brothers lusting over each other.
I made part of that description up.
Vampire will air Thursdays at 8Pm while Supernatural will remain at 9Pm.
This means that super Smallville will be flying over to Friday nights. I'm not sure about the logic of that -- are Tom Welling's pecs really enough to get people to watch on Fridays -- but it does make for a dark and morose Thursday theme.
Vampire Diaries stars Paul Wesley and the always adorable Ian Somerhalder.
I have absolutely no idea if this series will be any good. Having Kevin Williamson as the series creator gives me some hope that it won't just be beautiful brooding bare-chested but...

While African-American men only nabbed 4% of the slots on the Hot 100 list, they pretty much ruled the roost when it came to this category. Indeed, it was nearly a Top 10 sweep with only Wilson Cruz and Mario López sneaking in at the end. As for Asians, B.D. Wong landed at #14 and Daniel Dae Kim came in at #18 while Sendhil Ramamurthy pretty much carried the torch for Indian representation by placing #12. The next highest-ranking man of Indian descent was British native Dev Patel, who made quite an impact in Slumdog Millionaire (2008). Alas, the success of that movie only propelled Dev to #28.
After Cruz and López, the next highest ranking men of Hispanic descent were Gael García Bernal and Guillermo Díaz at #s 20 and 21, respectively. Pop singer Ricky Martin clocked in at #26 followed by soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo at #40.
With any luck, the election of Barack Obama will remind all of us...
