I was very excited to see this Carol Burnett Show reunion: Show Stoppers. I couldn't wait for the day it would air. I enjoyed this special as I did the other two reunions they had in the past. However, the outtake clips were all too short. I think the reunion shows should be a 2-hour event. Thanks to CBS for allowing the most daring and adult outtakes and bloopers to be shown. It was so much fun to see Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman back together again and able to laugh at themselves as we laughed with them at home. Yes! I hope CBS will have many more Carol Burnett Show reunions and soon. We love to laugh. And we like variety.

Carol and friends, in this reunion video, show why they stayed on top for all those years and why they were the best TV sketch comedy show, in this country at least, ever. The outtakes are, perhaps, even funnier than what was shown at the time.
It's interesting about the "second bananas" on the show in that Vicki was the only one to be somewhat successful on her own with the spinoff "Mama's Family" even though Tim and Harvey were and are immensely gifted.
10 out of 10!

It was my good fortune to have been in the audience at CBS Television City for this August 2001 show, which featured the cast members we have come to know and love. That event is even more meaningful, given the passing of one of the great comedians of our day, Tim Conway. Carol Burnett fans will not be disappointed in Show Stoppers!
Eagerly watched this, hoping for a collection of some of the many wonderful skits I remembered seeing from the Carol Burnett Show. Unfortunately, about half the time, the "show stoppers" emphasized vulgarity or profanity to elicit appropriate giggles. I will say that Tim Conway gave this some fantastic moments in his "current" appearance, and Harvey Korman added some great moments too. Carol and Vicki were wonderful too. But the clips themselves were in general, for my tastes, not well selected, and a sad reflection on what was chosen to be "memorable" some 30 or so years later. Carol Burnett & Co. had wonderful talent, and produced years of wonderful programming. This special does a disservice to that legacy.
