This second episode of LWT's disappointing 1989 series of The Saint, starring Simon Dutton, is far and away the worst of the six two-hour episodes. The unevenness of the series is largely due to the ill-advised decision to co-produce with different national companies (the Germans turned in the only really excellent episode, "Wrong Number"). The French casting in this case was particularly disastrous; most of the other actors were spared the humiliation of being associated with such a prize turkey when the decision was made to remove the cast list from the credits. However, the storyline is also impenetrable, the editing is clumsy and the cinematography may charitably be described as "uninspired".

The acting in this is so bad I was glad when it was over.
None of the actors seemed to know how to act. Perhaps they hadn't acted before.
The first movie was much better.

I loved this movie. Out of the 4 or 5 movies Dutton was in. This one was the best. Wrong Number was really good too I loved how Simon used the Villains own greed against him. John Astin played a good villain too. Along with the Twins who was damn Fine looking BTW. Being in France added to the movie.
I wished they would release this one on DVD. I don,t see why they haven,t released all of Dutton,s movies on DVD. He was really good as Simon. When I read the books he comes really close to the Simon in the books. Roger was good as Simon too. But I think Dutton was better.
I never though of John Astin as a bad guy before. He pulls it off rather well here. The best scenes are when Simon and Astin,s role are doing the 20 questions and Simon had all the answers to the annoyance of the villain. Then when Simon used the fact the villain dozen,t know the girls are twins against him. Awesome Movie. If u haven,t seen it. U should. It,s one of the best Saint movies.
