Trivia
Robert Reed did "Barefoot on the Park" on Broadway and wanted to star in the TV version. When they decided to make the cast all African-American, he ended up doing The Brady Bunch (1969) instead, much to his dismay.

Alternate versions
This brief series was retitled as episodes of Love, American Style (1969) for that show's reruns on the ABC network's daytime schedule, and subsequently retained in its syndication package.

Early Neil Simon-based TV show

I watched this show when I was in grade school, but I don't remember laughing at it much. When I saw it in reruns a few years later, I understood why. It would appear that Simon's touch was not on this series like it was on The Odd Couple. The sparkling dialogue is just not there, and the show looks no different from other domestic comedies that were on during that time.
