Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more from Tony Khan’s weekly drug trip. Also, there are a shit-load of perverts who have been allegedly revealed, including Jim Cornette & Synn, Dave Lagana, Jordan Devlin & numerous others in Nxt UK and David Starr (along with Alberto Del Rio a few months back and Jay Lethal numerous times over the years). The stories are horrifying and include male and female victims. If you are reading this and have ever been abused, don’t hold that sh*t in. Say that sh*t so everybody can see it and it can’t be hidden anymore. Every time someone gets away with a crime, that leaves them available to hurt more people. Hell, if anyone ever felt like I had ever done anything to them, I’d want them...

After haunting Beatrice High School drama students in The Gallows, The Hangman returns with a vengeance this Halloween season in The Gallows Act II, and with the film now in theaters and on VOD and Digital from Lionsgate, we caught up with co-writers/directors Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing to discuss expanding the mythology of The Hangman, reteaming with Blumhouse, and how the marketing campaign for The Gallows impacted their story idea for the sequel.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, Travis and Chris, and congratulations on The Gallows Act II! Did you always envision doing a sequel to The Gallows? How did the idea for the follow-up film come about?
You know when you set out to make a movie, you really just focus on making the best singular story as possible, and being indie guys, filming outside the system, we had no idea how...

Remember The Gallows? It was a 2015 found-footage film that didn’t exactly score the best reviews but ended up hauling in $43 million worldwide on a $100,000 budget. That’s the type of hit that immediately earns a sequel, and sure enough, a Gallows sequel did get the greenlight in 2017. But all has been quiet on The Gallows front […]

What I’ve come to gather about Matt Reeves’ The Batman is that this particular filmmaker is going to flesh out an onscreen universe for the Dark Knight quicker than any other to precede it. As you may have heard, up to six villains are expected to appear. That’s a lot for one picture, sure, but it all comes down to how well the screenplay is balanced.
But when it comes to the heroic side of the coin, it appears as though that won’t be neglected, either. According to Forbes’ own Mark Hughes, Batgirl and Nightwing may very well find themselves integrated into the world occupied by Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader, and that’s why their solo flicks are being held off until The Batman can first establish itself.
Based on what Hughes has heard, “Dick Grayson is expected to make an appearance in one of the Reeves movies,...

We've got your exclusive look at how the various facets of Archie Comics' history will unite on the printed page!
Sure, connected universes may be all the rage these days, but Archie Comics has been ahead of this curve for decades. Long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe or Crisis on Infinite Earths were even a glimmer in a young nerd's eye, the plucky publisher had Archie and the gang interacting with Josie and the Pussycats and Sabrina the Teenage Witch in their various titles..
In the past, Archie has occasionally published crossover stories uniting all the works from their nearly 80-year history (most notably in their Archie: The Married Life series), but never to a game-changing degree. All that is about to change. With the current Archie vs. Predator II and Jughead's Time Police titles weaving together the narrative threads that unite all permutations of these characters,...

I was happy to see that an extended version of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight was released on Netflix. What I wasn’t expecting was that it would be split up into a four-part miniseries! Each part runs about 50 minutes long.
The four episodes are titled, “Last Stage to Red Rock” (50 minutes), “Minnie’s Haberdashery” (51 minutes), “Domergue’s Got A Secret” (53 minutes), and “The Last Chapter” (56 minutes). For those of you who don’t want to do any math, the total length of the film is 210 minutes. The original cut had a run-time of 168 minutes.
I’m not sure why Netflix decided to break it up into four parts. Maybe for people who don’t want to watch it in one sitting? This extended cut of the film was released in select theaters for a brief time, which I wish I would have been able to see, but at...

He may have multiple Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and even two Tony Awards, but Al Pacino’s newest movie, “The Hangman,” has received the rare 0 percent critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, TheWrap has learned. Pacino’s latest bomb joins Adam Sandler’s “The Ridiculous 6” in the zero percent club along with Elle Fanning’s “The Nutcracker in 3D,” and the “Saturday Night Fever” sequel “Staying Alive.” “The Hangman” centers on decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Pacino) who partners with criminal profiler Will Ruiney (Karl Urban) to catch one of the city’s notoriously vicious serial killers, who is playing a twisted version of murder.

Well, the dog days of summer are fast approaching, and what better way to duck out of the heat than by spending a cool day inside, AC-blasting, with your Blu-ray player and an endless supply of chilled adult beverages. June sees the release of an Alfred Hitchcock classic (beautifully restored), a trio of Lina Wertmüller gems, a nearly lost Michael Curtiz effort, a movie about the sex lives of ghosts, and a plane crash survival tale sold on the, er, ample merits of its female lead.

The actor Fess Parker, who has died aged 85, was a quintessential westerner, a tall, rugged, Texas-born athlete turned actor, famous for his portrayals of two frontiersmen, Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, as well as sheriffs, cowboys and ranchers. He greatly appreciated the commercial success of these two title roles, and himself became a substantial businessman.
The Walt Disney Studio was the first in Hollywood to move wholeheartedly into television, and had the bright idea of combining three episodes of the Davy Crockett series Parker had made for them in 1954 into a feature. The result, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier (1955), spawned the craze for "racoon-fur" hats and became a box-office hit on the back of its singalong theme - Bill Hayes's recording of The Ballad of Davy Crockett topped the charts for three months,...
