“Yellowjackets” is officially returning in February. This will mark a nearly two year gap from when Season 2 premiered.

Hilariously given its dark subject matter, the first two episodes of the Showtime original will debut Feb. 14 on both streaming and on demand for those subscribed to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. Season 3’s linear premiere will then take place on Feb. 16. Internationally, the season will premiere on Paramount+ in the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria on Feb. 14. It will then debut in France later this year.

This season will introduce two new stars to the Emmy-nominated drama’s twisted story. Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank (“Million Dollar Baby”) will guest star along with “Community” and “Animal Control” star Joel McHale.

Netflix has been sued for copyright infringement by a producer, who alleges that his script for a project he’s producing was ripped off to make Rez Ball.

Rob Grabow, in a lawsuit filed on Thursday in California federal court, says the movie copied elements of his script for The Gift of the Game. Like Rez Ball, it follows a high school basketball team on a Native American reservation with state championship aspirations while exploring issues of community, race relations and poverty.

In 2024, Grabow says he reached out to Brit Hensel, who worked in the camera department on Reservation Dogs, to introduce himself and gauge her interest in directing his screenplay. She was sent a copy of his copyrighted script, along with a nondisclosure agreement.

A reboot of Sylvester Stallone’s action classic “Cliffhanger” is currently in production, but the film will look a lot different from the package initially announced nearly 18 months ago.

Stallone will no longer star in the update meant to be directed by Ric Roman Waugh (“Greenland”) from a script by Mark Bianculli (“Hunters”). A creative overhaul has meant that actor Lily James will take on the lead role. Pierce Brosnan will co-star and Jaume Collet-Serra will direct. The project hails from Rocket Science in partnership with Thank You Pictures and Supernix.

Black As Night director Maritte Lee Go explores the horrors of motherhood in the new “Tales From the Void” episode “Carry,” which premiered yesterday on Screambox.

The original series delivers six chilling tales adapted from the extremely popular r/No Sleep (18M subs) stories from series creator Francesco Loschiavo.

Two episodes premiere exclusively on Screambox every Sunday, through October 27. The episodes will also be available to buy or rent via electronic sell-through platforms the following Tuesday.

“Carry” adapts the r/NoSleep story “Pro-Life” by Grayson Grume, a story that struck a personal and timely chord for Maritte Lee Go. “‘Carry’ is about a young woman who gets married,” the filmmaker tells us. “She comes from a very, very religious family, with a religious new husband, and she becomes pregnant. The baby is diagnosed with anencephaly, which is a condition where the brain is exposed, and the skull is not present.

Another day, another small-town mayor refusing to acknowledge that his town could be in grave danger. That's the gist of newly ordered-to-series Widow's Bay, an upcoming 10-episode horror-comedy set for Apple TV+.

1428 Elm has learned that the show will be created by Katie Dippold, best known for writing The Heat, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Filmmaker Hiro Murai (Atlanta) will direct the pilot episode.

Apple didn't share much else about Widow's Bay just yet, unfortunately, except that it will be produced in-house by Apple Studios and the series is set in a cursed New England town. As mentioned above, something supernatural starts to threaten town residents but the mayor refuses to believe anything is wrong. Sounds like maybe the mayor from Amity Island relocated.

Dippold is credited as the showrunner and creator of the new series, which she also executive produces. Murai will executive produce as well, alongside Carver Karaszewski and Claudia Shin.

“‘Harbinger’ feels like the end of the world is suddenly happening, so that’s what the lyrics are about,” the singer commented via press release.

On the recordings for The Light Age, Buckley was joined by drummer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Bellmore and his brother, guitarist Charlie Bellmore. Nick also produced the record, with Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta serving as executive producer.

Based on the BBC’s BAFTA Award-winning crime anthology and developed by Howard Gordon, Fox’s Accused each season serves up collection of topical and human stories of crime and punishment. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, each episode promises a provocative thriller, exploring a different crime, in a different city, and with an entirely original cast.

Exclusive: Jerrika Hinton (Hunters) and Elvis Nolasco (Godfather of Harlem) have wrapped lead roles in Mr. Crocket, a horror film produced for Hulu Originals by WorthenBrooks (formerly 20th Digital Studio), which will premiere exclusively on Hulu later this year.

Directed by up-and-comer Brandon Espy, from his script written with Carl Reid, Mr. Crocket is based on the 2022 short of the same name, written and directed by Espy for Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween. The story is about a mother who goes on a dangerous journey to get her son back when a demonic children’s show host begins kidnapping children.

With production underway in Belfast, Ireland on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO has announced five new additions to the cast, along with a new director.

New cast members include Finn Bennett (True Detective: Night Country), Bertie Carvel (The Crown), Tanzyn Crawford (Tiny Beautiful Things), Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen) and Sam Spruell (Fargo). Bennett plays Aerion Targaryen, with Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Crawford as Tanselle, Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, and Spruell as Maekar Targaryen.

Emma Roberts worked with global media company Stampede Ventures on the romantic comedy Space Cadet, which is set to be released through the Prime Video streaming service on July 4th, and Coming Soon reports that Roberts is now set to re-team with Stampede Ventures on the showbusiness thriller Fourth Wall, which has director Alexis Ostrander at the helm.

Ostrander’s previous directing credits include multiple short films and episodes of twenty different TV shows, among them Interview with the Vampire, Mayfair Witches, Cruel Summer, Sweet Tooth, Supergirl, Servant, Nancy Drew, Swat Team, Swamp Thing, Light as a Feather, Shadowhunters, Riverdale, and American Horror Story. For Fourth Wall, she’ll be working from a screenplay by Jerry Kontogiorgis, who primarily works as a post-production coordinator.

That's the plot of the upcoming thriller Fourth Wall, starring American Horror Story and Scream Queens alum Emma Roberts.

Stampede Pictures is producing the new film. They previously worked with Roberts on the comedy film Space Cadets, which will be released on Prime Video this Fourth of July and also stars Gabrielle Union, Tom Hopper, and Poppy Liu.

Fourth Wall features Roberts in the leading role as an actress from a popular '90s series who gets kidnapped one day and wakes up to find herself on a set that has been painstakingly recreated to look like the show's, and all of her castmates are with her.
