What I loved about Chris Esper's short-film "Imposter" is its subtlety. The music, the mood, the atmosphere all build on you moment by moment. And in doing that, he makes a strong statement about Depression and Alienation in today's world. But he accomplishes that without beating you over the head with a heavy Message. Not an easy thing to do in 13 minutes!
I was lucky enough to catch "Imposter" during its Film Festival circuit.
I would happily watch a feature-version of "Imposter" because I found the characters to be very compelling. The one who stood out for me the most was the Woman standing alone at the Art Gallery. Her wordless expressions were quite heart-breaking.
Kudos to the Director for bringing us into the worlds of these damaged souls. Great pacing!
