My advice is to anyone wanting to watch this is if you don't like films where there is very little dialogue and things that remain unexplained and left to the imagination then maybe skip this one. However the concept and execution of what this is trying to be was well done. Not sure why one of the other reviewers had to have a pop at the director / dad of the star of this as it doesn't really describe the film to the rest of us in any way. But If you like "film" and have patience and enjoy a little bit of horror and suspense thrown in there, you'll enjoy it.
I didn't expect much and it turned out to be quite alright. Makes you want to keep watching and maybe this is the effect of the current lockdown in 2021 but felt like it was intense and mysterious till the end. Always liked a sea film and this doesn't disappoint despite a one man, one place scenario.
I decided to watch this film on a whim to learn a little bit more about boats. I was planning on sailing with my wife for our honeymoon this summer and wanted to see how boating is. Well not anymore! After watching this terrifying film about a man and this evil boat I don't think I will step foot on a boat ever again. My wife has now left me once she learned I canceled our sailing honeymoon. I just can't do it now. The thought of being on a boat in the middle of the ocean and having these horrible evil things happen is too much for me to bare. This is a great film but please avoid if you are planning any honeymoon sailing trips in the future.

Quite a piece of filmmaking by the director and solo actor. I found the story very interesting as a whole. Although it may only have 1 page of dialogue through out the whole film, I think the director is trying to put the viewer through the same loneliness and despair as the character. If the protagonist had narrated or spoke more it might disturb the sombre direction of the film.
The plot is very light. It's basically about a guy trapped on a boat... Not much else to say, besides the subtle instances where he might not be alone... I'll leave it at that.
Overall this isn't a great film or a film I'll give a 2nd viewing but it was intriguing and kept me glued till the very end. The film longs for some better editing though. Anyone who says it's terrible really doesn't understand the message or slow burn journey the filmmakers are taking them on.
Overall it's worth the watch if you're into something a little less mainstream.

This movie could be described by some as boring, and I see that as fair, but my problem with this movie lies elsewhere. There are many excruciatingly long scenes of the character preforming a mundane action, but the cinematography and setting make this mostly easy to watch - great shots of the water and sky throughout. And the main character behaves in a logical manner throughout the film, something you can't take for granted in film today. The film works like a procedural, with Joe Azzopardi giving a serviceable performance as "The Sailor", encountering increasingly peculiar problems, silently tackling each snag with reasoning and intelligence.
This all should add up to an enjoyable experience for me; I don't need a bombastic soundtrack to tell me what to feel (the sparse rumblings and frequencies that serve as a soundtrack here do a good enough job), and I don't need constant mind-numbing action scenes, either. What I do need is some kind of meat on the bones of a story. This whole plot could be described in a few sentences, and you'd miss no symbolism or visual language, minus a few jumpscares. The mood is mysterious and sullen, and without any cherry on top, there's no reason to seek out this frame of mind. A strong ending, or some sort of esoteric wrinkle would've done this movie a world of good (naming the boat after a Mediterranean demigod doesn't count). It's one re-write away from being a great low-budget film. As it stands, it's an artsy movie minus the art.

Slow paced, but couldn't take my eyes off his struggles. Claustrophobic. The gaze up through the water, heart beat... Is he drowning? Is the boat ferrying him to hell or being resuscitated back to life, punishing him?

What you see in the trailer is what you get. All that is needed is a good climax. But a 90 minute feature length film is a tad too much. This could have been easily done within 20 minutes. OK, even 20 minutes is too much, 10 minutes would have been a suspenseful drama. I fast forwarded a lot of scenes. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. The climax is an ode to 'All's well that ends well'. But sitting through 90 minutes is a torture. The trailer was good though.

If you want a bunch of special effects, this is not the movie for you. If you want to be spoon fed a neat little story, this is not the movie for you.
If, on the other hand, you want a thriller or a movie that makes you think even after it's over, check this out.
A movie with one character can be difficult to pull off but this one is done so well. The acting was believable and you really felt his fear and frustration. There are some very tense and claustrophobic moments and they were filmed perfectly.
The makeup was also extremely well done and consistent. This is a miss on many movies in my opinion. Bad makeup "injuries" can really pull me out of the story but that was not an issue with this movie.
Put your stupid phone down and let yourself get lost in the tension of a great film.

I agree with the other reviewers who wondered about the low ratings. This was an all-round good movie; part suspense, part thriller, and part horror. We both really enjoyed it!

I don't usually write reviews but since it have kinda bad ratings I have to. To tell what is bad and what is good so you give it a fair shot... Or not. The movie idea not bad a guy alone in the sea and no much talking, remind you of something? Yeah castaway, most likely was trying to make it like it but a little more... Idk paranormal stuff? The movie itself not bad at all actually was cool and fun here and there and kinda type of confusing movie that you have to come with your own explanation. The only problem like most of people here say; it's just too long, like for real a lot of parts are just like watching nothing happening just waiting and no much talking to care about*in castaway the script made it interesting by making some talking here and some crafting there*, if it just was shorter movie like 30 minutes man oh man it would be the best. Or you know what? 40 minutes would be fair and even more than fair but hour and 30 is just too long for nothing happening. It's a good movie, it deserve a fair shot. Also the type of movie that won't lose anything if you felt bored and skipped couple of second/minutes from.

I normally love odd indie thrillers but micro budget mystery thriller about a "possessed" boat leads absolutely nowhere. The movie adds nothing to the ghost ship genre, except sleep aid. If you are looking for a solid boat mystery, watch "Triangle". This was a complete waste of time.

Whilst well filmed, the film was far too long, boring, hard to categorise as not horror and hardly a thriller. It only kept me watching as I kept hoping it would pick up, but it didn't!

It depends on whether you like these kind of films, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definite scary moments, and some things I definitely wouldn't have done, but watch it, don't go on reviews, cos I nearly didn't watch it be use of the negativity, and I'm glad I ignored them...was captivated throughout the film....good thing about the end.......well that would be telling.....watch it and see for yourself 👌👌

This isn't actually that bad of a film but it just lacks that something too give if a bit of a boost. It gets to a certain point and then just seems to fall and get a bit boring. It starts off OK and it keeps your interest up to a certain moment but it becomes repetitive and your interest starts to fade.
There are a few moments where the main (and only character) makes you scratch your head and ask "What are you doing?" Now I KNOW it's easy for people to say what they'd do when they're not in that situation, but some decisions just make you wonder. But desperate situations usually do make people not think clearly so can give benefit of the doubt.
There's no real closure to the movie either. My best guess is that it's open to interpretation on what happened to the main character. Paranormal, hallucinations, a kind of "worm hole" effect when going through the thick fog? Who knows so it's a wee bit frustrating in that respect that you don't know 100% exactly what happens, but I guess that can be part of the story that keeps you watching.
A decent wee time filler that is worth a watch.
