Thoroughly enjoyed this documentary about the last WWI veteran who passed away at 110 years of age. He led an extraordinary life. He survived the trenches of WWI and a POW camp for the better part of WW2. The amount of death and privation this man experienced was unbelievable.
The documentary does a great job of integrating Frank Buckles family photos with the new footage. Likewise it excels at showcasing Buckles life and highlighting efforts to honor the WW1 generation that was sadly in some respects forgotten. After viewing the documentary I was genuinely upset that he was not allowed to lie in the state at the capital as desired.
Glad I stumbled upon this on Tubi.
