[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the grown-ish series finale “Grown.”] Grown-ish bid farewell after six seasons in an emotional series finale on May 22. In the penultimate episode, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) bolted after Aaron’s (Trevor Jackson) romantic proposal, and she consulted Ana (Francia Raisa), Nomi (Emily Arlook), Vivek (Jordan Buhat), and more about how to handle this delicate situation. So, did Zoey and Aaron get their happy ending? Luka (Luka Sabbat) tried one last time to win Zoey’s heart, but barely tried at all. He FaceTimed Zoey and told her that he’d always loved her. Zoey put him firmly in the friend zone and said they’d forever be “long distance pals.” A big L for Team Luka. Zoey and Aaron were forced to confront their future at Junior’s graduation boat party. She explained that she’s spent the last year trying to be “less selfish” and a “more balanced person.” Zoey admitted that she “...

Taking cues from The Cosby Show’s iconic spinoff A Different World but updated for some 30 years later, Grown-ish, the Black-ish spawn premiered on Freeform in January 2018 by following Yara Shahidi’s Zoey Johnson, Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) firstborn, to college. Similar to its predecessor, Grown-ish tackled many controversial topics, including university investment in the prison system, drug use, pre-nil exploitation of college athletes, sex, the value of college and more, but did so with a fresh voice and perspective.
Zoey’s college world included her competing love interests — woke Black campus activist Aaron (Trevor Jackson) and ultimate hipster Luca (Luka Sabbat) — as well as Latina Republican Ana (Francia Raìsa), Jewish rebel Nomi (Emily Arlook), first-generation Indian American and all-around hustler Vivek (Jordan Buhat), Olympic-bound South Los Angeles track stars Jazz and Sky (sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey, who perform the show’s theme song) and later,...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the series finale of Freeform’s grown-ish.
It’s the end of an era.
Freeform’s grown-ish ended its run Wednesday night after six seasons with Junior (Marcus Scribner) celebrating his graduation in a bit of an unexpected way.
While he and his friends are hoping for one last hoorah before their adult life begins, Junior’s plans for a graduation party are interrupted by his new boss, who needs him to tend to a client’s yacht all day instead. Fresh off a rejected proposal, Aaron (Trevor Jackson) decides to join him and hopefully avoid Zoey (Yara Shahidi) at all costs.
Their friends have other ideas, though. Before long, this stranger’s yacht is filled to the brim with 20-somethings and bottles of alcohol.
Junior spends much of the party pretty frantically trying to make sure his boss doesn’t find out...

In “Prom Dates,” two high school besties are sent reeling after their carefully orchestrated plans for the future take an abrupt turn, forcing them on a wild overnight adventure across town. If this set-up sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because director Kim O. Nguyen and screenwriter D.J. Mausner have combined a handful of ingredients from “Booksmart” and mixed them with some of the farcical odyssey of “After Hours.” However, unlike this teen raunch-com’s brilliantly conceived inspirations, its main friendship dynamic and ensuing shenanigans fail to resonate due to sloppy character construction and a cadre of cringe-worthy circumstances.
As innocent middle schoolers, Hannah (Millie Thorpe) and Jess (Hailey Philip) took a blood oath – one that went hilariously awry – to make their prom night the best night of their lives. But as seniors, the besties are finding that making good on their pact might prove difficult. Hannah (Julia Lester) is struggling with her sexuality,...

Fans have watched Yara Shahidi's "Black-ish" character, Zoey Johnson, grow up on our screens for nearly nine years - first in three seasons of the ABC show, and then through five seasons of its Freeform spinoff "Grown-ish." Now, it's time to say goodbye to the iconic character, as Freeform announced "Grown-ish" has been renewed for a sixth and final season.
In a video posted to Freeform's YouTube channel on March 29, Shahidi (who will next star as Tinkerbell in Disney+'s latest adaptation "Peter Pan and Wendy") made the announcement herself, promising the show's "day ones" that the final season will not disappoint.
"Hey, 'Grown-ish' fam. It's Yara, and I wanted to share the news with you guys, our day ones, that season six of 'Grown-ish' will be our final season. But don't be sad because we are going to do it up big," Shahidi began, before detailing...

At its best, horror seeks to move us, entertain us, scare our pants off and elicit similar kinds of thrills as roller coasters do. But for those that aim a little higher — no, not in an "elevated horror" sort of way (whatever that means), but simply in terms of ambition — there's also an added responsibility to sneak in some clever observations about our world that we've generally taken for granted, done in ways that other genres simply aren't capable of accomplishing. In other words, with copious amounts of blood, guts, and gnarly kills.
When a particular movie or show manages to hit all those pleasure centers in our impressionable brains, it elicits the kind of cathartic responses found in something like Jordan Peele's deeply provocative "Nope." When an otherwise promising piece of horror media stumbles in that pursuit, well, let's just say that things can go sideways pretty quickly.

Introducing ‘31 Days’ A Collection Of Halloween Inspired Photo Sets By Rae Mystic, One For Each Day Of The Spookiest Month Of The Year: "What began as a photography challenge to capture 31 different halloween or horror-themed looks throughout the month of October in 2018 has now transformed into ‘31 Days,’ a physical collection of horror and spooky themed photography from renowned photographer, Rae Mystic.
“After completion I thought, ‘How cool would it be to turn it into a physical collection?’ but imposter syndrome and a global pandemic stopped me from moving forward with it,” says Rae Mystic. “But I was still growing in my craft.”
In the years since starting the project, Rae Mystic has grown into a full-time photography and production business complete with a photo house, themed rooms, and a collection of wonderful clients.
“Three and a half years later, I decided it was time to pick back up this passion project.

"I have quite the weekend in store for you…" Paramount Movies has unveiled an official trailer for a freaky horror thriller Margaux, the latest bland creation from B-movie action director Steven C. Miller. Yet another new "Artificial Intelligent turns against people" uninspired thriller, especially one that's about a smart home that turns deadly (why this again?). A group of college friends rent a smart house for a weekend of partying. Later, they start to realize that "Margaux", the house's super advanced AI system, has sinister designs for them. The cast features Madison Pettis, Vanessa Morgan, Richard Harmon, Lochlyn Munro, Jedidiah Goodacre, Phoebe Miu, Jordan Buhat, Brittany Mitchell, and Louis Lay. This is another of these "how does this junk keep getting made" kind of movies. It looks so cheesy and forgettable. ›››

"Grown-ish" is finally returning for its fifth season on July 20, but this installment will look different in more ways than one. For starters, six original cast members who were part of Zoey's (Yara Shahidi) core group of Cal U buddies are bidding goodbye to the popular show. Season five of the Freeform coming-of-age comedy will follow a brand-new batch of freshmen. While we'll be reuniting with some "Grown-ish" favorites as season regulars - like Zoey, Trevor Jackson's Aaron, and Diggy Simmons's Doug (plus "Black-ish" star Marcus Scribner as Zoey's little brother Junior) - season four officially marks the end of an epic era for most of the original "Grown-ish" cast.

This is not a happy hump day for Zoey Johnson. Freeform on Wednesday released the trailer for grown-ish‘s upcoming fifth season, which welcomes Junior (black-ish‘s Marcus Scribner) to Cal U as a full-time student — and a full-time problem for Zoey.
Let’s just cut right to it: The trailer’s 40-second mark finds Zoey walking in on Junior going to pound town with Luca’s younger sister Kiela (Daniella Perkins), and her reaction is pretty spot-on for someone who just witnessed their younger brother doing their ex-boyfriend’s sister against a bathroom sink.

Sam has come a long way since almost turning her boss into a cyclops, back in Single Drunk Female’s first episode. She got sober, got real about why she drank so much, and has spent the past year trying to atone for her reckless behavior.
All of that culminated in Thursday’s season finale with an “alcoholic anxiety dream,” during which she drank shots with her deceased father and mulled over her guilt for leaving him high and dry while he was sick. While not the most pleasant slumber, it suggested that she’s processing more of the grief she’s been holding onto.
