Born in Brooklyn, New York to Puerto Rican and Polish parents, Ryan grew up between New York, Puerto Rico, and Texas. After high school, he joined the Army National Guard. He spent 6 years as a Combat Infantryman and 240 Gunner, becoming known for his expert marksmanship and leadership skills.
Ryan studied acting on the GI Bill and booked Blue Bloods during his first year of school. He then went on to shoot a string of television shows and action films, leading to his breakout in Blowback.
Ryan has been singing, playing guitar and composing since his early teens and composes music in several of his films. His combat training in the Army has led him to do most of his own stunts, stunt driving and weapons handling.
