Hallmark+ has dropped its second Aurora Teagarden Mystery entitled Death At The Diner. Originally, Candace Cameron Bure starred in this role. Now, it is a prequel spinoff of the early days of the librarian-sleuth.

This stars Skyler Samuels and Evan Roderick. In addition, Og star Marilu Henner is also back as Aida, and there is a special guest star, Kimberley Sustad, as well as a Garage Sale Mysteries reunion.

David B. Grelck wrote this script, and Jessica Harmon is the director, who were both behind the excellent Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Lesson In Murder.

Aurora Teagarden Mystery fans were more than disappointed when Candace Cameron Bure jumped shipped from Hallmark to Great American Family (Gaf), as it meant the series was not returning.

De-aging the characters worked exceptionally well, and the most questionable choice -- to retain Marilu Henner as Aurora's mom, Aida -- gave the series an unexpected tether to the earlier episodes.

There's no doubt that this was a gamble that paid off handsomely for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries announced Thursday it had picked up a new Aurora Teagarden Mysteries movie.

The flick becomes the 19th movie in the franchise, but the first without Candace Cameron Bure, who departed the cabler for a lucrative deal with Gac Family in 2022.

At the time, it seemed like the franchise was dead and buried, but the easiest way for the cabler to switch things up is to take a trip to the past with Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New.

Hallmark dropped the news about the upcoming Aurora Teagarden movie in a March 9 social media update.

“Big news, #Sleuthers! An Aurora Teagarden reboot is coming that will explore her young years and origin story,” Hallmark Movies & Mysteries shared on its Instagram Story.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will continue its popular Aurora Teagarden Mysteries without longtime star Candace Cameron Bure. It has green-lit the prequel Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New that will premiere later this year.

Skyler Samuels (The Gabby Petito Story, The Gifted) will take over the lead role as young Aurora, while Evan Roderick (A Tale of Two Christmases, Autumn in the City) will play young Arthur and Marilu Henner (A Kismet Christmas, Evening Shade) will reprise her role as Aida Teagarden.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is bringing back “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries” with a new Aurora.

On Thursday, the network announced the return of the franchise with a new prequel series, “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New,” set to premiere later this year. Skyler Samuels will star as young Aurora, while Evan Roderick will play young Arthur. Marilu Henner will return as Aida Teagarden.

The forthcoming female-led reboot of Doogie Howser has found its lead in Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack).

The series is titled Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., and is a female-led reimagining of the classic ABC medical dramedy, the streamer announced Thursday.

The streamer also dropped the logline:

Set in modern-day Hawaii, the 10-episode comedy follows Lahela "Doogie" Kamealoha, a mixed race 16-year-old girl, juggling a budding medical career and life as a teenager.

Guiding Lahela (and also complicating things) is her family, including her spit-fire Irish mother who’s also her supervisor at the hospital, and her ‘Local Boy’ father struggling to accept that his daughter is no longer his little girl.

The original Doogie Howser starred Neil Patrick Harris, and aired on ABC from 1989 to 1993.

The rest of the cast will be announced at a later date.

The inaugural committee for President-elect Joe Biden has unveiled the lineup for next Wednesday’s event, and it includes not one but two music superstars: Lady Gaga will sing national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20. Netflix has canceled the figure skating drama “Spinning Out” after just one season, Variety has confirmed.

The news comes just over a month after the show premiered on Jan 1. The 10-episode series follows Kat Baker (Kaya Scodelario), a talented, up-and-coming elite figure skater who’s ready to turn in her skates after a disastrous fall took her off the competition track. However, when she’s presented a second chance as a pair skater, she seizes the opportunity to continue her career and pairs up with talent pair skater and resident bad boy Justin (Evan Roderick).

The cast also included January Jones, Willow Shields, Amanda Zhou, Will Kemp, Svetlana Efremova, Mitchell Edwards, Sarah Wright Olsen, David James Elliott, Johnny Weir, Kaitlyn Leeb, and Jonathan Van Ness. Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Samantha Stratton, and Lara Olsen served as executive producers. Stratton and Olsen served as co-showrunners.

Evan Roderick, January Jones, Willow Shields, Amanda Zhou, Sarah Wright Olsen and Svetlana Efremova also starred in the drama, which premiered on Jan. 1.

When your job entails watching several new shows a week, overlapping themes are inevitable. Still, similarities between shows are rarely as stark as those between the first seasons of Netflix’s “Spinning Out” (out Jan. 2) and USA’s “Dare Me” (which premiered Dec. 20). Both dramas focus on teen girls as restless as they are talented, a combination that serves them well in their respective competitive sports — figure skating for “Spinning Out,” cheerleading for “Dare Me” — and have them scrambling to survive in their daily lives. Both examine motherhood, and how adults can blur the lines in their relationships to the teenagers in their care to devastating effect. Both are pulpy and propulsive as they set their bleeding hearts on a silver platter for the audience to eat up. And yet,

Netflix released the first trailer for its upcoming figure-skating drama “Spinning Out” on Tuesday, and everybody’s mad.

Led by “The Maze Runner” alum Kaya Scodelario, the series centers on Kat Baker, a high-level figure skater whose career is derailed after a disastrous fall. In an effort to stay in competition, she teams up with bad-boy pairs skater, Justin Davis (Evan Roderick), and risks exposing a fiercely kept secret that has the potential to unravel her entire life.

And judging by the amount of angry glaring between the two in the trailer, it does not go smoothly.

“I’m used to skating alone. I need time to adjust, ” Kat tells her new partner.

The new horror film “Crawl” from Paramount Pictures is the story of a father and daughter trapped in a hurricane who find themselves hunted by vicious, monster-sized alligators.

Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper star in the latest film from “The Hills Have Eyes” director Alexandre Aja, and producers Sam Raimi and Craig Flores. And yes, the first trailer for the film is as predictably wild as you’d expect.

Netflix is set to help “Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness live his dream of becoming an Olympic-level figure skater (fictionally) with a guest role on the upcoming scripted series “Spinning Out.”

Van Ness has been cast in the figure-skating drama from creator Samantha Stratton as the larger-than-life figure skating coach Bruce. Per Netflix, “Bruce is a former skater turned big-time choreographer from Michigan. He will create Kat and Justin’s main competitors’ program and have some fun confusing his clients along the way.”

Van Ness joins series stars Kaya Scodelario, January Jones and Willow Shields. The cast also includes Evan Roderick, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Sarah Wright Olsen, Will Kemp, Kaitlyn Leeb, Amanda Zhou and Mitchell Edwards.
