Following parents' divorce, she lived with her grandmother in Grodno, Belarus, and then moved to Moscow, Russia, to live with her mother not long prior to starting a school. When she was 10, her mother got remarried. Bortich has close relationship with her stepfather and doesn't like to speak about her relationship with biological father.
