- Shaleen Sangha began writing and directing at the age of nine when she staged a play in front of her grade four class, using her classmates as actors. She has continued to have this kind of passion and dedication to storytelling throughout her life. Her progression into filmmaking began in Highschool where she began receiving honors for her short films. Shaleen went on to study film at Humber College where she wrote her award-winning short screenplay "Sohni Sapna (Beautiful Dream)". The screenplay, meant to be her thesis project, caught the attention of "Bollywood/Hollywood" co-star Jazz Mann who jumped on board to produce and brought with him veteran composer Mychael Danna ("Monsoon Wedding") to do the score. Shaleen's films combine lush, visual images with complex and emotional stories.
