The stars were out for Saturday’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which included a tribute to the ‘Goddess of Pop’.
Zendaya and Dua Lipa channelled their inner ‘Dark Lady’ on the red carpet as Cher was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Lipa joined the pop music legend in a performance of her 1998 single ‘Believe’, and Zendaya took the stage for her induction, which airs Jan. 1 on ABC.
“Where do I even begin? Cher is not one person. Her name is just as legendary as her legacy,” said the Euphoria star, adding: “Cher has got the goods.”
Cher, who also performed her 1989 hit ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, said in her speech, “The one thing I got from my mom is to never give up. I never give up. I’m talking to the women — down and out, we keep going.

The clock was rapidly approaching midnight when Ozzy Osbourne first appeared on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony stage at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio Saturday night. Due to a variety of health ailments, including Parkinson’s Disease, Osbourne’s mobility is severely limited, and he rarely appears in public. But there he was accepting the award on a leather throne with skull armrests, and a giant vampire bat perched on top.

On Saturday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted Ozzy Osbourne as a solo artist. It was the second time the institution recognized the singer, following his induction as a member of Black Sabbath in 2006.
The honor was long overdue. Osbourne made one of rock’s most incredible comebacks after Black Sabbath fired him in 1979. With the help of guitarist Randy Rhoads, who was posthumously inducted into the Hall in 2021, he recorded energetic, almost gothic rockers like “Crazy Train,” “Mr. Crowley,” and “Flying High Again” that helped him eclipse Sabbath’s career commercially.

How do you induct the Prince of Darkness into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? With an all-star celebration. On Saturday night, Billy Idol, Jelly Roll, and Tool frontman Maynard Keenan gathered to sing songs from throughout Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career.
After Osbourne himself kicked things off by bellowing the words, “All aboard,” the tribute started with “Crazy Train,” with Wolfgang Van Halen playing a ripping solo as Keenan took on the vocals. Jelly Roll stepped up next, singing Osbourne’s iconic power ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home.

Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night (October 19th) in Cleveland with a rousing and highly entertaining speech by Jack Black. The Prince of Darkness was also honored with a three-song performance fronted by Maynard James Keenan, Jelly Roll, and Billy Idol.
Jack Black gave an all-time Rock Hall speech, with his face turning beet red as he hilariously screamed his way through a highly animated rundown of Ozzy’s various achievements.
Ozzy himself followed, sitting in a giant leather bat-design chair. The metal icon singled out his late guitarist Randy Rhoads and his wife Sharon during his brief speech.
The all-star performance was next, as Tool’s Maynard James Keenan sang “Crazy Train” alongside Wolfgang Van Halen on lead guitar, with a backing band of Chad Smith on drums, Robert Trujillo on bass, Andrew Watt on rhythm guitar, and Adam Wakeman on keyboards.

Do you feel the need – the need for speed? Well, just make sure that speed is set at 33 ½ Rpm because the soundtracks for two Tom Cruise classics, Top Gun and Days of Thunder, are coming to vinyl. But these aren’t any ordinary releases, as both are going to be available in their extended forms.
As per Variety, the Top Gun and Days of Thunder vinyl releases will drop on this Friday, October 18th. While these soundtracks were previously released on CD, these are on 140 gram vinyl. They are also remarkably different from the original albums, as the 1986 Top Gun soundtrack featured only one track from composer Harold Faltemeyer (“Mighty Wings”), with the real selling point being Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” and Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away”, which would win the Oscar for Best Original Song.

Zakk Wylde is stepping away from the remaining dates of the ongoing “Experience Hendrix” tour as he prepares for Ozzy Osbourne‘s second Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Wylde is a man of many projects, from Black Label Society to Pantera, but the journeyman guitarist can only be in one place at a time. His involvement in Ozzy’s induction — which honors Osbourne’s solo career, including years of work alongside Wylde — has taken precedence over the remaining five shows of the Experience Hendrix tour (October 15th through the 19th).

While the “Experience Tour” will no longer feature Wylde, fans can still look forward to seeing the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Taj Mahal, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Johnson, and more performing during the upcoming shows (get tickets here).

When Tobe Hooper passed away in 2017, the majority of the press coverage focused on him as the man behind The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Poltergeist. Little was said about his other work, which includes a documentary on Peter, Paul and Mary, an experimental film about the ’60s counterculture called Eggshells, several made-for-tv movies, numerous TV episodes, and his influential music video for Billy Idol’s “Dancing with Myself.”
Now comes American Twilight: The Cinema of Tobe Hooper, newly published in paperback by the University of Texas Press, to remedy that oversight. Nearly every work in Hooper’s oeuvre is covered at some length by one of the essays in this volume.
Because this is an academic publication, there’s a certain amount of technical jargon to contend with. Luckily for readers, editors Kristopher Woofter and Will Dodson have endeavored to keep things eminently readable. And whenever the jargon does show up,...

Once an indie underdog, Kevin Smith has, in middle age, devoted himself to making what critics and fans alike might characterize as glorified, self-referential home movies, cast with friends and family members and filled with callbacks, in-jokes, and the same familiar anxieties about friendship, romance, and growing up. This is not an original observation.

Corey Taylor, Billy Morrison, and Steve Vai have unveiled an animated music video for their collaborative new single “Incite the Watch.”
The track hails from Morrison’s recent solo album, The Morrison Project, which was released earlier this year and features a stacked list of guest spots from the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, and more.
Taylor and Vai are among the big names on the album, contributing vocals and guitar, respectively, on “Incite the Watch” — one of the LP’s more experimental tracks. The jumps between muted verses with electronic beats and rousing metal choruses are prime material for the Slipknot frontman, while the virtuosic Vai provides adorning guitar leads.
“Billy and I have known each other for so many years and we’ve done many performances together, it was only a matter of time before we put together something original and fascinating,” Taylor said via a press release.

From where E. Jean Carroll was standing in a U.S. District courtroom in Lower Manhattan, the tea leaves were not auspiciously arranged. The jury had reached a verdict far too quickly. They’d deliberated for less than three hours — barely enough time for Carroll and her legal team to finish their lunch — before the forewoman announced a decision. Count One: Not liable. “Boy, that was not a good sign,” Carroll recalls. Then, suddenly, the spell broke: The jury found Donald Trump liable of sexual abuse and defamation, and they awarded Carroll $5 million in damages.

Lamberto Bava’s Demons is one cool cucumber. It’s often hard to tell whether the film is satirizing the cold excess of 1980s horror cinema or indulging it (probably both), and that ambiguity informs even the slacker sequences with latent tension. The premise is simple even for an ultraviolent ghoulie feature: Folks are invited to a mysterious theater for a screening of a horror film and proceed to turn into demons that tear apart the remaining survivors, who soon turn, of course, into more demons.
The Evil Dead is certainly an inspiration, which reflects a cyclical payback of sorts, as Sam Raimi was indebted to Suspiria, and Dario Argento, an executive producer and co-writer of this film, borrowed back on his initial loan, upping the ante even further on the fabulous gore and bladdery effects. This self-referential sense of the narrative eating its own tale is intentional and essential...

Billy Idol and his guitarist Steve Stevens performed an acoustic version of Idol’s iconic hit “Rebel Yell” while tethered to a balcony atop the Empire State Building.
After playing the first-ever concert at the Hoover Dam last year, Idol went a step further — and much higher — by strapping himself to a narrow balcony on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building to play the acoustic number. The platform was originally built as a disembarkation deck for passengers of airships tethered to the Empire State’s spire.
Needless to say, the footage is incredible, with sweeping drone shots showing Idol and Stevens side by side on the small platform above the clouds. Whatever nerves they may have been feeling from the vertigo-inducing heights, neither flinches as they knock out the passionate acoustic rendition — just like they did on the Today show in May.

There are a few valid reasons to make a sequel four decades down the track from an action-comedy blockbuster that left an indelible pop-cultural imprint: 1. A smart script with a completely fresh take on a formulaic genre. 2. Writing that digs into the ways an iconic character known for his rule-breaking irreverence adjusts to the social shifts of a different century. 3. New technology that allows for more explosive thrills. 4. The nostalgia of audiences for whom the original holds enduringly fond memories. 5. Lil Nas X agrees to write and perform a song, spinning rap verses around synthmeister Harold Faltermeyer’s catchy theme tune.
Sauntering along 30 years after the third installment opened to scalding reviews and underwhelming grosses, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F justifies its existence only with points 4 and 5. Which will likely be enough to satisfy diehard fans. Directed with journeyman efficiency by first-timer Mark Molloy and written by a committee that...

The canned water company Liquid Death has rolled out a new electrolyte mix dubbed Death Dust, and none other than Ozzy Osbourne himself is here to teach us how not to consume the supplement.

Sex Pistols members Steve Jones, Glen Matlock, and Paul Cook will reunite for a pair of benefit shows in August, fronted by singer Frank Carter. Each evening will see the foursome playing the Pistols’ iconic album Never Mind the Bollocks in its entirety.
The concerts will take place August 13th and 14th at West London’s Bush Hall, with the proceeds benefitting the historic rock venue. Tickets for the two shows go on sale via Ticketmaster UK on Wednesday (June 5th) at 9 a.m. local time.
Jones, Matlock, and Cook make up the classic Sex Pistols lineup, minus singer Johnny Rotten (aka John Lydon), who will not be participating. With his red hair and dynamic stage presence, British punk rocker Carter should make a fine fill-in for Rotten, as he’s proven via his sensational live shows with his band Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and before that as frontman of Gallows.

The new solo album from guitarist Billy Morrison is filled with big-name guests, and now he’s tapped Hollywood actor Joe Manganiello for the music video for “It’s Come to This.”
The cinematic clip sees Morrison cruising through the desert in a shimmering blue Shelby Mustang. There is a loose narrative here, so spoilers ahead: Morrison pulls over to dig up a mysterious bag before pulling up to a shack. Manganiello sits on the porch playing a guitar, striking his typical imposing figure.
As Billy approaches, he produces a box from the aforementioned bag. Manganiello takes a peak inside and is immediately blinded by a brilliant light. As he closes the box, Morrison sheds a wry smile and returns to his Mustang, leaving Manganiello with the drop. The ending definitely pulls the “What’s in the box?” card from Seven, while the cinematography evokes the highway-scapes of Vanishing Point...

Actor Robert Patrick has appeared in several popular films, but his most iconic performance came in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the sequel, Patrick plays a highly advanced cyborg sent on a mission to the past to kill a child. Patrick convincingly plays the robotic aspects of the character, making his performance memorable.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Robert Patrick co-starred in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day
However, Patrick had to undergo an unbelievable training process to prepare him for the gun-shooting scenes in the movie. Patrick trained relentlessly so that he would not blink during the shooting scenes, making him appear more robotic. Here is how Patrick trained for his gun-shooting scenes in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a sequel to 1984’s The Terminator, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800, an advanced cyborg from the future.

The new rock band The Effect, featuring the sons of Genesis’ Phil Collins and Toto’s Steve Lukather, have teamed up with Steve Perry himself for a cover of the Journey song “It Could Have Been You.”
Alongside drummer Nic Collins and guitarist Trev Lukather, The Effect are fronted by singer Emmett Stang. On the band’s version of “It Could Have Been You,” Stang’s lead vocals take center stage, with Perry contributing backing vocals and ad libs throughout the track.
An accompanying music video shows The Effect performing the song in silhouette. While Perry doesn’t appear in the video, he did issue a statement expressing his excitement over The Effect covering the 1986 song by his former band:
“In 1986, the Journey Raised on Radio record was released and in it was a song I’ve always felt was a diamond in the ruff. I’ve known Trev Lukather since he was 9 years old,...

Billy Idol reached the height of his drug addiction four decades ago, but the 68-year-old has since found a routine that works for him: no more hard drugs, just an occasional crisp glass of wine. In other words, he is California sober.
“I can have a glass of wine every now and again,” Idol recently told People. “I don’t have to do nothing. But at the same time, I’m not the drug addict that I was in the peak ’70s, ’80s.” He adds, “I’m, I suppose, ‘California sober.

Billy Idol recently released a 40th anniversary expanded reissue of his seminal album Rebel Yell, and to celebrate the occasion, he performed the classic title track live on NBC’s Today.
The performance is notable in that Billy and his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens play the song semi-unplugged. Following an introduction by Al Roker, the duo are left to their lonesome on the sound stage, creating an intimate and up-close setting for the rendition.

Stevens guides the song’s arrangement with electric-acoustic strums that let Idol’s voice soar commandingly through the room. Not only does the stripped-down approach fit perfectly within the Today show’s studio format, it also offers an alternate spin on an otherwise rousing rock anthem.

Workday is getting ready to go back on tour.
The human-resources and finance software company is ready to launch another leg of the ad campaign it launched in 2023’s Super Bowl Lvii, in which popular musicians set the record straight on whether high-performing corporate types ought to be called “rock stars.” In this go-round, two new ads will be seen during The Masters between April 8 and April 14 and in five key overseas markets: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
“We gained a ton of momentum” from the initial campaign that featured, among others, Ozzy Osbourne and Joan Jett, says Emma Chalwin, Workday’s chief marketing officer, during an interview. The company saw a 24% increase in audience consideration of Workday a a brand that could be trusted and a 50% increase in leads, among other notable spikes in metrics, Chalwin says. “It was kind of a no brainer to do a version two.

Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Stevens, and Billy Morrison team up on the new song “Crack Cocaine” from the latter’s upcoming album, The Morrision Project. The single is out now, along with a music video starring Paris Jackson.
Morrison — longtime rhythm guitarist in Billy Idol’s band and former bassist for The Cult — previously premiered the video for the album’s lead single, “Drowning,” right here at Heavy Consequence. His guest-filled LP also features contributions from Idol, Corey Taylor, Al Jourgensen, John 5, Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels, and Linda Perry, among others.
Morrison and fellow Billy Idol guitarist Stevens trade licks on “Crack Cocaine” as Ozzy delivers his haunting vocals on lines like, “Loving you is driving me insane/ I put you down and pick you up again … like crack cocaine.”

It’s easy to draw a lot of conclusions from the title of Ozzy Osbourne’s new single with friend Billy Morrison, “Crack Cocaine,” without listening to it. But the singer says it’s more nuanced than that. “The song’s not about crack cocaine,” the Prince of Darkness tells Rolling Stone on a call from his L.A. home. “It’s about being in love with a chick. But it’s kind of what you might think Ozzy Osbourne would do. It’s, like, the two loves in my life: drugs and women.

Prime Video’s “Ricky Stanicky,” the latest comedy from director Peter Farrelly, is filled with outrageous moments revolving around John Cena as Rod, a down-on-his-luck performer hired by a group of friends to pose as their nonexistent pal. The undeniable highlights, however, are the moments in which we see the Atlantic City lounge act for which Rod dresses as iconic performers, from Peter Frampton and Britney Spears to Billy Idol and Boy George. The musical numbers walk a fine line, presenting Cena with costumes that immediately summon up associations with their sources while remaining just a bit off in order to show that Rod is not exactly one of Atlantic City’s top acts.
Cena credits the costume and hair and makeup departments with creating a wide variety of hilarious looks — and doing it on a ridiculously compressed schedule. “Not only did they transform me to look like Dee Snider,...

John Cena certainly isn't the first wrestler to become a movie star. Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, and Andre the Giant brought their muscles to the big screen decades ago. The late '90s and early 2000s saw Bill Goldberg and Dwayne Johnson enter the fray, with the latter becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he's still going strong. But it wouldn't be until the likes of Dave Bautista and John Cena that we'd get a pair of wrestlers who truly stepped into the world of acting without relying mostly on their muscular presence to do the heavy lifting on the big screen for them, both literally and figuratively.
Dave Bautista has proven to be a reliable supporting star in the superhero blockbuster franchise "Guardians of the Galaxy," but he's also delivered more haunting turns in the likes of "Blade Runner 2049," "Dune," and M. Night Shyamalan's "Knock at the Cabin.

Everything you need to know about the new movie Ricky Stanicky is on the poster with its stark message plastered right across it: Warning! An R-rated Comedy. Oh, and the fact that it is directed and co-written by Peter Farrelly also tells you a lot. This is undeniably a return to the kinds of outrageous, raunchy, anything-goes style of comedy that made the Farrelly brand a household name with films like Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, Stuck On You and the “Citizen Kane” of the genre, There’s Something About Mary. More recently Farrelly, who also managed to put heart in even the wildest of situations, took his career in a different direction with his wonderful and emotional Oscar-winning Green Book, as well as the terrific true story The Greatest Beer Run Ever which starred Zac Efron. The latter is now reunited with the filmmaker and the results are laugh-out-loud hilarious in Ricky Stanicky,...

After showing his serious side with Green Book, the most derided Best Picture Oscar winner since Crash, then taking a critical drubbing with the Zac Efron vehicle The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Peter Farrelly returns to the kind of unapologetically silly comedy he and his brother Bobby parlayed into box office gold in the ‘90s. At least in theory. Efron gets stuck with another slipshod script in Ricky Stanicky, a sad demonstration that what was once considered outrageous, transgressive and anarchic now just seems crass, tired and witless.
Streaming on Prime from March 7, the movie might tap into the nostalgia of audiences raised on the Farrelly brand of goofy raunch, gross-out laughs, slapstick, escalating chaos and sticky sentiment. The virtual extinction of the midbudget R-rated studio comedies that thrived in the ‘90s might also help, as the success of Anyone But You recently showed.

Peter Farrelly’s Ricky Stanicky concerns a trio of best friends who create an imaginary person to blame for their misdeeds. As the years go by, Dean (Zac Efron), Jt (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler) continue using “Ricky” as an excuse any time they want to skip, say, a family gathering or sneak out on a boys’ weekend. In such moments, they simply tell their significant others that Ricky really needs them right now.
That’s a solid enough setup for a film, a kind of coming-of-middle-age comedy in the vein of Jeff Tomsic’s Tag, where the characters’ commitment to a childhood tradition ends up jeopardizing their adult lives in the process. But where the antics of Tag’s characters effectively captured the stupid joy of acting like your younger self while hanging out with your oldest friends, Ricky Stanicky is stupid in a much less joyful way.
