Just in time for Halloween, a trailer for the BuzzFeed Studios-produced comedy thriller F Marry Kill made its way online (you can watch it in the embed above), and at that time the film was set to receive a digital, VOD, and limited theatrical release on December 6th. Since then, the release was pushed back to sometime in March in an effort to align the domestic release with its international roll-out… but some of the PVOD platforms didn’t get the message. As Deadline reports, F Marry Kill reached some digital stores and PVOD on December 6th, then disappeared a few hours later. So if you managed to catch the movie during that brief window last Friday – congratulations, you got a special sneak peek! If you didn’t catch it, there’s still three months left to wait for it.

Exclusive: Lionsgate’s Lucy Hale comedy-mystery F*** Marry Kill hit digital store shelves and PVOD this past Friday, December 6 — then disappeared a few hours later. We heard all the noise from genre fans.
What went on here? Is Lionsgate’s AI to blame? No, not at all.
Apparently, the R-rated Laura Murphy-directed title originally was scheduled for a December 6 drop, and fans were expecting it. But the release date changed a few weeks ago, and that message clearly didn’t get through to the PVOD platforms, hence the glitch.
Lionsgate isn’t burying or short-changing the movie, which is coming out via its theatrical day-and-date release label Lionsgate Premiere Releasing. The release-date change is an effort to align the movie with its international roll\out in March. We’re told that a recent screening, the filmmaker announced to attendees that they could expect to see F*** Marry Kill in March.

We’ve all been there: wondering if your latest fling might have a double life…just not as a serial killer (hopefully).
“F Marry Kill” takes its title quite literally as Lucy Hale leads the genre-bending twist on a rom-com about a woman who suspects her beau might be a murderer. Think “Based on a True Story” meets “The Bachelor.”

“Copycat” gets thrown around a lot when discussing the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, yet perhaps a more accurate descriptor is “opportunist.” The film was, in fact, rushed into production in light of Scream‘s success, but Kevin Williamson’s script dates farther back. And unlike Williamson’s first collaboration with Wes Craven, I Know What You Did Last Summer channeled traditional slashers rather than deconstructed them.
Despite a straightforward approach in a postmodern era of horror, I Know ended up being fully digested by pop culture. Comedies Scary Movie and Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th spoofed the original film without mercy, MADtv conceived a Christmas-themed parody, and the direct sequel didn’t even take itself too seriously. So it would seem as if a third Summer was unnecessary. That is, until the idea came up again in 2005 (and after a...

The mood on Monday was upbeat for actors, who felt that the end of their strike is near as talks between SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP resumed.
Several actors outside of Paramount Studios in Los Angeles told TheWrap that they believed a deal could come as early as that same day, or possibly by Friday, now that the WGA and the studios finally came to terms on ending the months-long writers’ strike.
“We feel like we see the end in sight,” said Anita Kalathara, whose credits include “Lady Bird” and “India Sweets and Spices.”
She and another actress were walking the line with a friend from the WGA. At least half of the picketers outside Paramount held picket signs that read “Wgaw Stands With SAG-AFTRA.” A former WGA strike captain said that the writers’ guild had had the new signs made to show their continued solidarity for the actors.

A couple months ago, we heard that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer by giving the film a 4K release, just like they did for its predecessor I Know What You Did Last Summer last year. Now we’ve learned that the unpopular trilogy capper I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it Here) will also be getting a new release on the same day I Still Know reaches 4K (September 26th) – but this will be a Blu-ray release instead of 4K.
Directed by Sylvain White (who replaced Damon Santostefano two weeks before filming began) from a screenplay written by Michael D. Weiss, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is about a group of small town teens who accidentally kill a fellow friend in a 4th of July prank.

Airing on USA Network from July 2004 until September 2007, The 4400 series stars Joel Gretsch, Jacqueline McKenzie, Mahershala Ali, Laura Allen, Patrick Flueger, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Chad Faust, Kaj-Erik Eriksen, Samantha Ferris, Jenni Baird, Brooke Nevin, Conchita Campbell, Karina Lombard, Billy Campbell, and Peter Coyote. The story begins as a mysterious ball of light deposits a group of exactly 4,400 people near Mount Rainer in Washington state. These people had all previously disappeared in a beam of light, starting as far back as 1946. None of them have aged since their disappearances nor do they have any memory of where they've been.

One of the most enduring genres in television is the buddy cop drama, often benefiting from the comedic and/or dramatic tension caused by the disparate characters' interactions. Reelz's police-drama Cracked is no exception, even if it offers a new twist on the genre.
Currently airing its second season, Detective Aidan Black (David Sutcliffe) has a new partner in Dr. Clara Malone (Brooke Nevin), a psychiatrist that helps Black through his post-traumatic stress disorder while they solve cases for the newly-formed Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit. A cop and a psychiatrist are an unusual pairing for a police drama, which got us thinking: what are the oddest TV detective duos of all time? Check out our Top Ten.

ReelzChannel's crime drama Cracked, which just debuted its second season earlier this month, has received 3 nominations from the Canadian Screen Awards. Besides nominations for Best Original Musical Score and Best Direction for Bruce McDonald (Pontypool), actor Rick Roberts also received a nomination for his guest role as a grieving father in the episode "How the Light Gets In."
Roberts wasn't the only actor to get a nod, however, as Cracked star David Sutcliffe earned a nod for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Detective Aidan Black, a seasoned Swat officer who transfers to the Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit after showing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. Teamed with psychiatrist psychiatrist Dr. Daniella Ridley (Stefanie von Pfetten) — or with Dr. Clara Malone (Brooke Nevin) as he is in Season 2 — Black investigates strange and bizarre crimes that often come with emotionally disturbed criminals.

When the second season of our popular crime drama Cracked premiers January 6th, psychologically "cracked" (not broken) Detective Aidan Black (David Sutcliffe, Private Practice) will be paired with a new psychiatrist, Dr. Clara Malone (Brooke Nevin, Alter Egos), replacing Psych Crimes liaison Dr. Daniella Ridley (Stefanie von Pfetten, Seeds of Destruction). Changing a major character between seasons may seem like a pretty risky maneuver for a fledgling show, but we’re very excited about the energy and emotion Nevin brings to the cast. Besides, it wouldn’t be the first time that it’s happened on a popular series. Here’s our list of the more memorable actress replacements and character changes on TV.

As an attending psychiatrist at St. Stephen's locked ward, Clara Malone has dealt with patients suffering from everything from kleptomania to acute paranoia. And though she is a forensic psychiatrist who has profiled serial killers, she in not an investigator and has never actually set foot on a crime scene, seen a suspect interrogated or worried about a chain of evidence. As she works her way towards becoming a core member of the Psych Crimes Unit, she generally follows Aidan's lead when it comes to solving their cases.
Dr. Clara Malone is played by Brooke Nevin.

The current saturation of superhero films can be traced back to the mammoth success of Superman in 1978. The popularity of comic book heroes continued through the 1980s and 1990s with the Batman films, then Marvel hit pay dirt with Spiderman and has continued its success with this year’s Avengers. There have been so many comics and graphic novels translated to film that it was inevitable that the satires, spoofs, and revisionist versions would follow. The new film Alter Egos takes its place among this group, successfully adding a new point of view to the genre.
The movie establishes its offbeat tone early on, as the superhero Fridge (all the super characters in this world vision have descriptive names, such as C-Thru and Sunburn) takes mass transportation, then walks all the way across town to an assignment. Kevin Smith has written superhero comics, owns a comic book store, and almost directed a Superman movie, but for some strange reason the stars have never quite aligned so that we’d get a full-fledged Smith-based superhero film – until now. Superhero features have risen significantly in popularity over the last decade. With Marvel Studio’s stable of movies culminating in this summer’s The Avengers, and Christopher Nolan’s hugely successful Batman franchise also coming to a close this summer, the commercial success of the genre is at an all-time high. The rise of the genre, however, has also paved the way for unconventional takes on superheroes, with features such as Kick-Ass and Chronicle exploring offbeat avenues to superheroism. Along the vein of this thread comes the latest feature, Alter Egos. Written and directed by Jordan Galland, this picture is notable for being released under Kevin Smith’s fledgling production banner Smodcast Pictures, and stars Danny Masterson, Brooke Nevin, Kris Lemche, and John Ventimiglia. The first trailer for the movie has now been released, and can be seen below.

If writer/director Jordan Galland’s “Alter Egos” had come out, say, five years ago, it would look pretty original. Nowadays, though, stripping down (if you will) the superhero into an Everyday schmoe with real-world problems is pretty old hat. Curiously, though, this type of storyline has never really managed to get big-time studio funding, and are mostly relegated to indie films. I guess studios just don’t think you’re interested in such a tale. You can prove them wrong by checking out Galland’s “Alter Ego”, opening in limited release and on VOD next month. Until then, check out a latest trailer and poster for the film.
