I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer: unpopular sequel heads to Blu-ray

Sony is giving I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer a Blu-ray release the same day I Still Know reaches 4K

A couple months ago, we heard that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer by giving the film a 4K release, just like they did for its predecessor I Know What You Did Last Summer last year. Now we’ve learned that the unpopular trilogy capper I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it HERE) will also be getting a new release on the same day I Still Know reaches 4K (September 26th) – but this will be a Blu-ray release instead of 4K.

Directed by Sylvain White (who replaced Damon Santostefano two weeks before filming began) from a screenplay written by Michael D. Weiss, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer is about a group of small town teens who accidentally kill a fellow friend in a 4th of July prank. They all band together and decide to take their secret to the grave. Little do they know that they really will be taking their secret quite literally to the grave as one year later their secret comes back for revenge. The friends try to survive and figure out the identity of their tormentor before they end up dead themselves.

The film stars Brooke Nevin, David Paetkau, Torrey DeVitto, Ben Easter, Seth Packard, Clayton Taylor, Michael Flynn, KC Clyde, Brittanie Nicole Leary, Star LaPoint, Junior Richard, and Levi Whitlock, with Don Shanks (who played Michael Myers in Halloween 5) taking over the role of the hook-wielding Fisherman.

I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer reaches Blu-ray with the following special features (which are ported over from the 2006 DVD release): – Commentary with Director Sylvain White – The Making of I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer – Original Trailer

88 Films gave I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer a Region B Blu-ray release a couple years ago. That release had a commentary with film critics Dave Wain and Matty Budrewicz of The Schlock Pit that hasn’t made it onto this Sony release.

While I’m a fan of I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, I tend to pretend I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer doesn’t exist… But I assume it does have some fans.
