This is a Hindi serial from the 90s. It's a horror series inspired by "IT" - Stephen King's well known creation from earlier decades.
Performances are excellent with Lilliput playing the clown who kidnaps children into another world.
Ashutosh Gowariker plays the lead - well before he donned the director's hat. He is partnered by a team of friends in the serial when they learn that "Woh" the clown has started kidnapping children, years after they had apparently taken care of it.
The serial is Indianized and well made to our taste and sensibilities. Note that there are no gory scenes.
And in the end when Lilliput explains his reasons, your heart surprisingly goes out to him with tears welling up. Imagine such a reaction instead of a scar during childhood.
