Remake of Stephen King's IT.
The clown's back story in the show was inspired largely from the actor Liliput's own struggles and experiences growing up.
Funnily enough, makers didn't read the original novel which is more than a 1000 page read. They only read the brief synopsis behind the book which they accidentally found in a library. The central idea of childhood friends reuniting as grown up to fight together against an evil force is what inspired them to make the show.

Ankush Mohla co acted as well as co directed the series.
