so we have the epitome of grumpy - sunshine trope here and I don’t really want to go too much into the storyline -because I really don’t have the time but let me tell you
- I was thoroughly entertained - I laughed out loud in some moments - I did skip a few scenes but who doesn’t - I loved the sibling duo here - The mystery aspect was more comedic than thrilling for me - Absolutely adored the heroine. She was strong and well written. Her character wasn’t immature nor was she expecting to change the hero - The conflict in the end bummed me out ngl, I see why it was there but I felt like the execution could’ve been better - The loved how Taylor handled many situations and proved to herself that she could take care of herself - The tension and foreplay ...more

So I think it’s not for everyone. It’s very Rom-com though, so if that’s what you’re into then I think you’ll like it
Gage studied us with an exaggerated arch of his eyebrow. “I love how he says ‘I want to sit’ and you translate that as ‘be my chair.’”
•best-friends to lovers cooked to perfection •angst free. Drama free goodness •gay for you done so smooth •only the best ever friend group -secondary characters you can find •hilarious lol moments •nosey lil town written w/o it being annoying
Oh, I had a delicious omelet this morning.” “Oh, really? Do tell.” “I seasoned the eggs with sugar, oil, chocolate, even threw in some flour for texture. It was amazing. Best omelet ever.” I I translated without effort. “So, you had cake for breakfast.” “ Want some?”
I loved the writing here. The author made it so fun for me to read from both Zar and Asher’s pov. The sarcastic and adorable dialogues were what made me keep going.
The family drama was a bit much. I think the whole confrontation and bitch slapping moment could’ve gone a lot different? In my opinion it was completely fine with it being a spectacle so Ashers family would stop acting like the victim but I just couldn’t handle the way Zar’s mom handled it. It was funny and dramatic but the writing was written well enough for me to hear her screaming in my head.
This book contains toxic families so watch out for that. The moms name was Karen ffs.

“She’s the one that got away.”
I cant help but smile over how whipped this guy is. Rye Peterson has been in love with Brenna since page one and no one can convince me otherwise.
I picked this book up because I absolutely adore Managed. It’s probably my all time favorite book and one of my first romances that I ever truly fell in love with. Soooo I picked this up for the cameos. Hehe. I really wanted more glimpses of my Gabriel.
But this was sooo good. Gooey and cheesy and cliche and just what I wanted. As much as I love my dark romances, I do indulge in dessert once in a while.
Story: We follow Rye, Bassist for the band Kill John, and Brenna (no idea what she actually does but she kind of manages their band?). When Rye accidentally catches (eavesdrops on) Brenna talking about how she wants to have amazing sex for once in her life, he volunteers as tribute . And so begins their sex buddies no strings attached bs.
I know you don’t believe me, but I’m tired of moving from partner to partner. I’m tired of feeling…” A deep flush turns his face red. “Alone.”
What I loved about this book:
RYE PETERSON
He was everythinggg. Definitely didn’t steal Gabriel’s spot but a close second. Like I said : he was fucking pussy whipped. It was so painfully obvious and all the more satisfying to read about.
He’s the first hero in a long time that I’ve read about, who made himself vulnerable so early on the book.
“I’m good, Bren. I’ll do whatever you want, for as long as you want. I’ll make certain you’re taken care of, and I won’t tell a soul.”
He was the definition of male perfection. He was sexy and sweet. Possessive and protective. Smart and funny. A rock star and a fucking nerd. I legit shed tears at how he doesn’t exist in my life.
Brenna was fine. She was your typical strong heroine who let her pride get in the way too many times. But I did like her personality when she let him in. She was fun and always gave as well as she took.
“Thing you should know about me, Rye. If my partner isn’t pleasured, then I’m not going to be either.”
There were so many moments in this I LOVEEED.
⚫️The friendship between the gang was so hilariously cute.
⚫️The boys fighting over Sam, Dean and Castiel from Supernatural
⚫️Him obsessing over how she takes her coffee and the scent of her perfume.
Group moments:
“She doesn’t count. We’re a relationship unit.” “God.” I groan and pinch the bridge of my nose where a headache is forming. “Which means Sophie knows too.” Scottie’s smile is brief but fond. “No. I love my wife, but that doesn’t mean I’m unaware that she has the biggest mouth in all creation.”
^im crying.
“Let me save you some more future grief. If your woman comes to you to complain about some shit going down in her life, she doesn’t want you to fix it.” “What’s the point of telling me if I can’t help find a solution?” “So you can nod and say, ‘Fuck that noise, you’re completely in the right, sweetness.’ Or, ‘I’m sorry, honey, that truly sucks. Would you like a foot rub?’”
Honestly. I really enjoyed this book. Their relationship was so much fun and filled with banter. The writing in this was humor filled and didn’t bore me out. KC wrote their relationship in a way that’s both slow and fast; but there was so much loyalty in this book and among the friends that it’ll make you ache.
“I always was.” I can’t quite make my mouth work correctly. “Always was what?” “Yours.” Tender hands cup my cheeks. “I’ve always been yours. And you…You already are my everything. You’re my music, Bren.”
Ahhh cheesy goodnesss
Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a good comfort read...more

This book was cringe and cliché in all the right places. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. Its not something I would typically pick up and lets be honest: it was the cover that finally pushed me over the edge.
STORY
Bianca (h) wants a baby and Enzo (H) needs a wife. And hence their marriage of convience begins.
“A what?” “A baby.” His dark eyes clouded over with confusion. “Whose baby?” “Mine. And . . .” I ate the second olive off the pick. “Yours.” “I don’t have a baby.”
Rule no.1 : no sex Rule no.2 : only honesty Rule no.3 : no one can know Rule no.4 : no falling in love
What can go wrong right?
PLOTLINE
Though this was supposed to be an enemies-friends-lovers; We really only see the friends-lovers part. The enemies aspect was more or less them just annoying each other disturbingly close to how sibling piss each other off. Both the hero and heroine are from large italian families and happened to be childhood enemies. Bianca has always had a crush on him but she was unbelievably shy – which the hero surmarised as stuck up bitch/ too good for anyone else bitch. But this was cleared up very early in the book, which I was so glad about because honestly I cant handle bs and miscommunication like that throughout the book; especially if it involves childhood crush/grudge
“I wasn’t stuck-up, Enzo, I was shy!” she exclaimed, like I should have known. “And you were always surrounded by girls batting their lashes and tossing their long blond hair and giggling like idiots at everything you said. Just because I wasn’t one of them doesn’t mean I thought I was too good for you”
I enjoyed every second of them relcutanly becoming friends and opening up to eachother. The vulnerablity the characters potray very early on in the book was so satisfying because we see trust in the beginning of the relationship. They had no walls , didn’t push each other away or try to get space so they can “stop falling in love”
“Hey. What are you doing over there?” “I don’t know. I’m giving you some space.” “Well, I don’t want it. Come here.”
They had adorable banter and honestly on any other day this would’ve been a 3 star read for me, but after so many tragedies ive been having this one made me laugh with it instead of laughing at it
—->For their wedding; they wrote vows for the other one to read ( since they both no nothing of eachother besides their favorite color and food)
“what can I say but that my life before you was a meaningless, shallow void—in the words of the immortal Edward Cullen, it was ‘an unending, unchanging midnight.’” I paused here to give her a look—who the fuck was Edward Cullen?” -- I loved the many twilight references we have through this book. It seriously cracked me up
Enzo was our stereotypical cocky-mama’s boy. But he was honestly hilarious and real and truthful. Oh did I mention he’s cocky?
“No pretense, no expiration date, no conditions. I had a feeling she’d say yes, but just in case, I practiced my smolder in the mirror before I left. Oh yeah. I still had it.”
He never bullshitted about his feelings or take any of what he got for granted and the guy is gorgeous ( I drooled ovee the cover 1 too many times )
“I told my mother no aunts and uncles, no cousins. She claimed they were never going to speak to her again.” Her eyes were wide as she reached for her wine glass. “What did you say?” “I said, ‘You’re welcome.’”
RELATIONSHIP
Perfect pacing. Nothing too fast or too slow. I didn’t have a moment where I was like “was that necessary” or “ugh why now?”. Lots of cutesy moments in the book that made me jealous:
“She hopped off the island and wrapped her arms around me from behind. It felt ridiculously good”
yes I like physical affection, so sue me ive been inside my house for too long
“Be nice, or I won’t say the cute thing I was about to say.” She laughed. “What’s the cute thing?” “That I am genuinely enjoying having you here.” I looked over at her. “Brace yourself—I think I like you.” “Ewwww.” She made a face like she was disgusted. “I know, right?”
----->see how cheesy it is? I DON’T FUCKING CARE YA’LL. I eat this shit up.
TW: we do go them trying to concieve a baby and Bianca repeatedly failing to get pregnant. We reading both their POV’s on how theyre dealing with it.
The miscommunication at the end was pretty much expected. We can go through an entire book without the H fucking up right? Well here the fuck up was more clean and easy. There were a lot of tears but I was angry at neither the hero nor the heroine. I understand both of their POV’s and why they did.
OVERALL
Highly recommend this if youre looking for a cheesy rom-com. Or a small town romance with an amazing friend group and supoorting families.
“You’re the most beautiful, the most caring, and the most exasperating woman I’ve ever known. You can infuriate me like no one else—but you make me happier than anyone else ever could. And the love I feel for you is the truest, realest thing I’ve ever known.”...more

Nikki Sloane knows how to write good smut. The foreplay and seduction in this book really got to me, it was antagonizing and slow and fucking delicious. The dominance shown by Macalister was downright wicked and i'm fucking here for it.
'Seduction was a game a man should enjoy playing, and there was no victory in bedding a woman who couldn’t surrender willingly'
Macalister accepts assistance from our heroine, Sophia, in order to try and redeem himself in the 'rich prick' of billionaires, after the "incident" with his past wife. Sophia poses as his assistant at work and their relationship moves forward from their.
the Dominant/submissive relationship here was highly erotic and satisfying; especially since they don't sleep together until over 40% of this book.
“Say it.” Possession was nine tenths of the law, and I felt utterly possessed. “I’m yours.” “Only I’m allowed to touch you.”
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. There were some extremely cliche and borderline cringey moments, but the soft moments where our H breaks down his walls made this book worthwhile.
“You have this power where you make it feel safe. We become the only two people in the world with no one else to tell. When I’m with you, everything outside of that ceases to exist.” ...more

RANTING TIME.
Story: we follow Aurora, a newly divorced, perky heroine who rents the garage apartment of our single dad, Rhodes, in order to move on from her old life from her ex (famous musician) and start fresh in the town she grew up with her mother (passed away).
I absolutely LOVED Aurora. Like many of our heroines in MZ books. She was fun and happy and had the most hilarious lines. >>
“Only when you aren’t super busy. Please. If you can, but if you can’t, that’s okay.” I’d just cry myself to sleep at night. No biggie.
She cracked me up several times and had the solftest heart. She reminded me quite a bit of Vanessa from The Wall Of Winnipeg And Me. Her relationship with Amos (Rhodes’ son) was so precious and shy and sweet and made me melt.
Her relationship with Rhodes was OBVIOUSLY slow.
I couldn’t see his face though. I could see his butt though, and it was a good one.
Was it worth it? Hell yes. Tobias Rhodes :protective, possessive, alpha. But he says the sweetest things. Like I FELT was rora felt while reading it.
It wouldn’t matter what you looked like, you’d still be my angel.”
But the sex? I just…. It didn’t do anything for me. It wasn’t as satisfying as I hoped it would be and that really killed me. Another thing that felt off was that , there was a lot more going on in this book than her other ones.
We have her old life that kept interrupting her new one; her ex, his mom, her old friends. That storyline was a little meh and honestly I could’ve happy gone without it. And then there was her grief with her moms death. It wasn’t something I was expecting and kind of hit me out of nowhere so TW for stages of grief.
But overall? I’ll give a solid 3.5 to 4 stars. It was fun and playful. NOT A QUICK READ. And even if the sex wasn’t satisfying. The affection and tenderness and protectiveness Rhodes shower her with completely makes up for it. Probably not going to be on my top MZ books though.
“And I’ve got no problem with making sure you end up being some guy that broke her heart before I took over and put hers in mine for safekeeping.”...more

This was a solid 3 star read for me because whilst the story was Did I enjoy it? Sure. I mean, it was fun and I guess it was kind of flirty at times?
This was a solid 3 star read for me because whilst the story was highly entertaining and even amusing at times, the characters were pretty unimpressive? No offense but I didn’t fall head over heels for Adam and it sucks because this would’ve really impressed me years back but I feel like now? It’s not really original.
The situations that the heroine got herself into and her friends put her in was very often just downright ridiculous and highly unlikely lol. I mean, a crowded lecture hall so she had to sit on his lap? Every moment from their first kiss to having too much sunscreen seemed almost forced to me and it made me roll my eyes hard at times.
Im not going to talk about the writing because frankly I don’t care, I skipped a lot because of the info dumps and don’t really have the right to critise.
This was also painfully tropey, with the student-teacher, one bed, grumpy-sunshine and fake dating and even boy falls first. HOWEVER, Adam was described as an asshole professor and that requirment was never met. He was grunty and grumpy but never an asshole though he was implied as an asshole for like a majority of the book
Adam Carlsen. Destroyer of research careers.
With alllll that being said, I still had fun while reading it. It was a quick and easy read and very easy to make it through without putting it down for other distractions.Totally recommend if you’re looking for a not-so-serious read that’s light and fluffy with just a hint of drama to make up for the overload of tropes.

5 fucking stars for Eve Fucking Brown. I absolutely adored this book. It was such an amazing piece of work and I can tell it’s gonna hold a special place in my heart. This is by far my favorite of the Brown sisters trilogy and here’s what I absolutely love about it.
1. The writing. The inner monologues// humour.
You already injured him yesterday, Eve. At least let him recover before you beat him over the head
I find both the Main characters wonderful and different and their sense of humour// sarcasm broke me down to tears.
‘Next thing you know, the whole garden will be duck shit and duck sex—which is an extremely disturbing event, let me tell you—and aggressive duck demands for food. Aside from which, you’re not even supposed to give them bread.’
HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH? the descriptions of the character’s expressions were so excellent. I can imagine and even hear them rant and whine and complain.
2. The romance : slowburn
‘Everything about you matters.’
The romance was by far the slowest in the series and it was so perfectly done. It never got too draggy or frustrating. The pace was so well done and kept my invested from page one. The enemies to lovers trope had such a smooth transition that you almost forget the fact that they hated eachother.
“I need this to be real. So we can’t start something if it’s going to end with you getting bored and disappearing on me.”
Some of the things they say to each other are soooo sweet and raw and real and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters.
“anyone who doesn’t want you as much as you want them is a fucking donut, Jacob, because you are just the most wantable man on planet Earth.”
3. The plot.
Unlike the other books. This one had a more interesting plot line; one that was PERSONALLY a lot more appealing to me and with a much more relatable heroine who was very genuine and hardworking.
The heroine and hero both shares hardships in very different views and worlds. And you see a lot of truth on the difficulty in being an adult in a world of expectations and perfection.
3. The side characters.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how well Talia hibert brought our previously beloved characters into the book? I mean Chloe, Red, Dani, Zafir, Gigi. It didn’t feel forced you know? Like since’ it’s the ending of the series the we’re brought in for sentimental reasons’ NO. It just worked.
Overall : this book was nothing short of perfection and it’s probably my favorite book I’ve read this year. Please read it. Okay bye. ...more

I was drawn to the book because the blurb and the entire plot seemed so interesting. I honestly wish there were more scripts from the actual show. It would’ve been fun to have more chapters where we see both dom and shay interacting with the audience. But overall it was cute.

“Sometimes the point is to be sad, August. Sometimes you just have to feel it because it deserves to be felt.”
You know the feeling when you read the first few pages of a book and just instantly know that you’ll like it ? That was my experience literally 2% into the book.
“Anything else I should know?” Myla and Niko exchange a look. “Like three times a day the fridge makes this noise like a skeleton trying to eat a bag of quarters, but we’re pretty sure it’s fine,” Niko says. “One of the laminate tiles in the kitchen isn’t really stuck down anymore, so we all just kind of kick it around the room,” Myla adds. “The guy across the hall is a drag queen, and sometimes he practices his numbers in the middle of the night, so if you hear Patti LaBelle, that’s why.” “The hot water takes twenty minutes to get going, but ten if you’re nice.” “It’s not haunted, but it’s like, not not haunted.” Myla smacks her gum. “That’s it.”
Read this 3 times and couldn’t stop laughing. Chandler is making a guest appearance in Myla.
This book was everything to me. It gave me all the feels and the characters ! The characters were just amazing. I’m not even kidding when I say this : I cannot write a review that sums up how much I adored this book. Interestingly enough, Red, white and royal blue was my FIRST MM romance and now my FF cherry has been popped by the same author and I don’t want it any other way. It was a v orgasamic experience.
Story : August moves to NY to start a new degree and being broke, she moves into a crappy apartment where we meet the best people you’ll ever read about,Myla, Niko, Wes and annie( Isaiah)l. On the way to and back from college, she boards the subway where she meets Jane. My girl crush and a woman I would give up dick for.
Later on we find out that Jane has actually time traveled and is stuck in the present, inside the train, with no way to the 70’s. August takes it upon herself to help Jane get back but unfortunately her virginity is not the only thing she loses while they spend time together.
August : likes lilies, always has a red scarf, Virgo Jane : punk-rock chic, tattoos galore, has a thing for fishnet stockings. Myla : hippie artist(sculptor), niko’s girlfriend, crackhead Niko : terrible bartender, part time psychic, Myla’s boyfriend Wes : in love with Isiah, has a poodle named noodles Annie/ Isaiah : drag queen, in love with Wes
This was HILARIOUS. Like ‘laugh out loud- I’m snorting- I’m gonna pee’ kind of moments. I’m going to very honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of August. I just couldn’t really relate to her and just didn’t care much about her when the people around her were soo much more interesting. Auguest was kind of cinical and straight as a line kind of girl and while that’s fine !, it’s really not me and I couldn’t connect with her.
The others however ! *chefs kiss* absolute perfection. They were a cross between F. R. I. E. N. D. S. and the Scooby – doo gang. They had the most interesting and amusing personalities that I’ve ever read. Their dialogues and comments and descriptions were so funny and unexpected. They all complimented eachother in the best way possible and that’s what really made thing gang work for me. The found family aspect was so strong in this book and was the small things they did to make August one of them and it so touching.
Group moments that made my cheeks hurt :
1) “Rolly Bangs is a game we invented.” “You start by the door in a rolling chair, and someone pushes you down the incline of the kitchen floor,” Myla explains. Of course she’s figured out a way to use a building code violation for entertainment. “That’s the Rolly part.” “The Bang is when you hit that threshold right there,” Wes says. He points to the wooden lip where the hallway meets the kitchen. “Basically catapults you out of the chair.” “The lines,” Myla says, ripping off the last piece of tape, “are to measure how far you fly before you hit the floor.”
2) “Anyway,” Myla says, turning to open the freezer. “That sucks. I’m your mom now. The rules are, no Tarantino movies and bedtime is never.”
3) “And it is August’s life. But Myla is looking at her like she doesn’t care—not in the way people have for most of August’s life—but like how she looks at Niko when he recites Neruda to his plants, or Wes when he stubbornly spends hours disassembling and rebuilding a piece of Ikea furniture someone put together wrong. Like it’s another inconsequential quirk of someone she loves.”
4) “He snaps a photo of August in an unflattering laugh, a baby corn halfway lodged in her windpipe. “Goddammit, Niko!” she chokes out. He crows with laughter and strides off in his socks. She hears the snap of a magnet—he’s added August to the fridge.”
5) “Brined like a Thanksgiving turkey in ball sweat. That was the situation we were dealing with.” “Can we maybe not talk about ball sweat right before dinner?” August asks.”
Jane. Jane. Jane. Jane. Jane. Jane. I love her. Yes. I do. Why ? Wellll
• “You just … looked like you needed something to go right that morning. So.” – after giving her the red scarf to cover up August’s coffee stain. • the way she calls August “angel” • the way she dedicates songs for August on the radio • she kept a book with pages filled everything August spoke about • her jaw twitches when she sees August with another girl. Or boy. • the way she signs her name in every text like she’s sending of a letter. • the way she was willing to learn everything about the present because a small part of her wanted to stay.
And the list goes on. Their relationship was just so pure and innocent and sweet. That’s the only way I can sum it up. « jane is the one moment »
“And she’s certainly not the type of person to sit on a train with someone whose name she doesn’t even know and imagine her assembling an Ikea bed frame. Everything is completely under control.”
“All right, listeners,” he says, “I’ve got something special for you this morning. Normally we don’t take requests in advance, but this particular caller has been so loyal to us that when she called last week and asked if we’d play a song today, we decided to make an exception.” Oh. Oh, no. “This one’s for you, August. Jane says, ‘Just in case.’” “Love of My Life” starts to play”
The writing as usual was flawless and made the experience way more fun, it was the kind of ‘dry humour’ that would surprise a laughter out of you. And the random references in this book...more
