I love how the author didn’t waste any time on the plot and we just jump right in from page one. I was genuienly happy that we didn’t get too much of their past and got just enough to learn about who they were indivitually and to each other and it made the book all the more sweeter.
I’m not sure who is having more fun: Cami or us. By the time we make it inside the grocery store, Cami’s face is red from laughing so hard and Lana is beaming. Damn. I did that.
This book, compared to the other two was real. No lie, I loved declans book too but the struggles and milestones here for both the hero and heroine were better written and described in my opinion. I sympathised with them and felt angry for them. Cal, Lana and Cami were such beautifully written characters. I LOVED LOVED LOVED how lana never hid how she felt about Cal or keep her emotions behind the curtains. She didn’t pretend or go along with any bullshit from anyone and reprimanded anyone who did her wrong and that was a green flag in my book.
She peeks up at me. “Do you not want kids?” “Of course I do.” Spending time around Cami made me realize just how fun children can be. “Are you sure? You’re going to have to invest in a lot more swear jars.” A smile tugs at her lips. “I better stock up on some hundreds then.”
The smut. Wowowowowowow. Like, gold star for lauren asher because she gave us some good fucking food.
“Stay there and look pretty for me.” I repeat the words. My body temperature spikes, along with my heart rate. He reaches out to cup my cheek with one hand while pumping his cock with the other. “There truly is nothing prettier than watching you on your knees.”
All in all, this book was by far the saving grace of this month for me and ngl, if it was a few pages shorter, I would’ve given it 5 stars without a shadow of a doubt. But I skipped too many pages to have the right to make that decision....more
I’ve never given Nicky James anything below 4 stars. I love their work and writing and plots and characters. As Rating this hurt me a little too much
I’ve never given Nicky James anything below 4 stars. I love their work and writing and plots and characters. As much as I loved the first book, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Honestly it was so far out of the mark for me. And as i write the review I just realised that I have really no explanations why? I just wasn’t having fun while reading it and though there were plenty of moments in the book that tugged at my heart; overall it wasn’t that impressive of a read for me.
The book however did have excellent representation of Selective Mutism; which I didn’t even know much about until I read this book. I knew of people who had trouble but never knew what to call it and the experiences we see through Elian’s eyes portrays a lot of pain and struggle and it was amazing to see how Élian dealt with it and grew up into loving and accepting himself.
“Willow, and Dodger, and Killian, and Leo. Those guys would do anything for you, Tyler. Families don’t have to share DNA, and they don’t have to follow some predefined structure or set of rules. Families are about unconditional love and support. You have that in spades. I want to be part of your family.
As the rest of the population in GR, I loved the found family element in this. We watch Tyler slowly realise that who his true family is and how he has people around him and he’s not alone. And never has been. Elian’s interactions with the gang was a mood itself. Willow really played an amazing character here. She was beautiful and compassionate and funny. I enjoyed reading their conversations together
A rare smile grew on Willow’s face. “Come on, Elian. You don’t chase someone across the country for two years if you don’t love them.” I ducked my chin. She was right, and I couldn’t fight my own smile. She nudged me. “Stick around and see where it goes. We’re good people.”
Yet I still didn’t LOVE this. I’m not sure why?...more
This did not work for me. Idk why but I wasn’t feeling it.
Vlad and Elena have been friends their whole life, they had a marriage of convenience so EleThis did not work for me. Idk why but I wasn’t feeling it.
Vlad and Elena have been friends their whole life, they had a marriage of convenience so Elena could get out of Russia and become a journalist to follow in her fathers footsteps, the same footsteps that got him killed. And now after about 6 years? Apart, they’re getting a divorce. However, Vlad has an accident on the ice (hockey) and needs someone to take care of him after his surgery and Elena volunteers.
Now let me start of with my first problem : this was supposed to be Friends to lovers . but there wasn’t a single moment in this book that made me think they’ve been best-friends. Besides the constant verbal reminders. They felt like strangers around each other, never talking or interacting for that matter.
Their relationship : it was so frustrating! Both the characters believed they were no good for the other for like 80% of the book. It was a constant push and pull between them which is fine for a while but Jesus what have these people been through for them to believe that they don’t deserve love? Their relationship, whether friendship or as lovers, was nothing. Which is so sad to say because I feel like with a different plot, them together could've been stunning. I don’t even think they had a relationship tbh, halfway through they decided they wanted to make their marriage work and they had sex. That’s it.
--Vlad stayed a virgin for her. She never asked him to. --He didn’t ask her to stay 6 years ago --She distanced herself because of a misunderstanding 6 years ago and never spoke to him about it --She still planned on leaving to become a journalist and gave him mixed signals --They never confessed their feelings for each other --No one took the risk
What are these? Arguments they had. The fights. I mean they need to talk right? Might as well be blood and tears
Next up, sex: I hated it I hated the sex, their first time together was literally just “shoving it in” ( h is not a virgin ) . no foreplay. No oral sex. Nothing. UGHGHGHG. There wasn’t even sexual tension between them! All their inner monologues are about how they’re ruining each other’s lives, when the fuck did they have time to lust after each other? And jesus he’s a hockey player. A RUSSIAN HOCKEY PLAYER. Where’s the mouthwatering, panty melting sex scenes? I’ll tell you : it’s implied. im going to smother someone with my pillow
What’s next? Oh yeah, moments. You know when you read slow burn romances, or romances with mutual pining.. the anticipation builds and when they’re finally together, it’s butterflies and sparks and those small moments that’ll make you feel single? Well reading this, I would rather BE single. they didn’t have “the moment”. Their kiss, sex, final moments, it didn’t feel special. It felt forced. Maybe it would’ve been better if we got glimpses of their friendship in the past.
“Because you’re chasing something you’ll never be able to catch. And I can’t compete with a ghost.” “I’m not asking you to compete with my father.” “He’s not the ghost I’m talking about. Decide what you want, Elena. Once and for all.”
That’s not to say that there weren't moments that I didn’t enjoy.
The Bromance Bookclub : ngl, they were the highlight of this book. In a literal way, I feel like we got so many scenes of these guys together that it overshadowed Vlad and Elena’s relationship. These guys were fun and flirty, loyal and supportive. Openly. Everything that Vlad and Elena were not. They were funny and god the things they do for each other. That called me single and lonely.
“Of course I do. I am a hockey player. I have hockey butt.” He crouched with their help so he could sit in the water. “What’s hockey butt?” Gavin asked. “From skating,” Vlad grunted, easing farther into the water. “We get big thighs and butts compared to the rest of our bodies. Makes it very hard to buy pants.”
I did enjoy the scenes of Elena taking care of Vlad after his surgery. And the mutual pining trope was an added bonus.
Other secondary characters : We meet the loners Vlad’s neighbors, single women, insanely protective of Vlad. That entire group is a mood.
Overall: this was meh. Definitely my biggest disappointment. But this is an unpopular opinion sooo. Maybe it’s just me?...more
Was there any doubt that I would like this? I honestly went into this with very VERY low expectations after the recent reviews that ive read. But4.12✨
Was there any doubt that I would like this? I honestly went into this with very VERY low expectations after the recent reviews that ive read. But it was unneccessary for me because a chapter in and I knew I would like this book. It did, however, take me a couple of chapters to get adjusted to the main characters.
Piper almost always found ways to put herself down and threw herself a one man pity party. So It did annoy me at first because she never believed in herself nor did she stick up for herself She was a “blond bimbo” (her words not mine)
Brenden on the other hand was plain mean. Their first meet was definitely not cute, he was arrogant, condescending and patronising. He judged piper pretty much at first glance and it took Atleast 2 or 3 chapters to retract the judgement.
“Something acidic burbled in his windpipe at the prospect of her on another man’s boat. “You could. If you wanted a subpar experience.” “Are you saying you could deliver a better one?” “Damn right.” Were they still talking about fishing? Brendan didn’t know.”
But later on. Once they put aside all their bs. When they start thinking “maybe”. It was absolutely beautiful!! Brenden was the perfect caveman/alpha male. Possessive, protective and set in his ways but prepared to try for her. He made his intentions clear and didn’t play games. And he was willing to fight for her and with her to keep her. UGH I LOVE HIM.
“I thought about your mouth and your eyes and your legs and your pussy. I never stopped. Now you knock that phony shit off, baby, and tell me you missed me.”
“You can wrap me as tight as you want around that little finger, but I won’t play games about what this is. Get me, Piper?”
I truly enjoyed reading about piper’s transformation. She became a character I respected and liked as a person. She was compassionate and never changed who she was. It was definitely clear that she still loved shopping and parties and well being rich. But she became more humble mid way. At least as humble as she could be.
The “crew” ie Brendens mates/friends were a mood honestly. They were so fun and IM SO EXCITED FOR FOX and HANNAH’S BOOK! “So what should I use?” “CaptainCutie69,” Fox spat out. “IGotCrabs4U,” Deke supplied. “SlipperyWhenWet.” Brendan stared. “You’re all fired. Go home.” “All right, all right”
“Brendan cleared his throat hard. “What does ‘follow’ mean?” “Don’t,” Deke rushed to say. “Don’t press it.” His thumb was already on the way back up. “Too late.” All three of his crew members surged to their feet. “No. Brendan, don’t tell me you just tapped the blue button,” Sanders groaned, hands on his mop of red hair. “She’s going to see you followed her. She’s going to know you internet stalked her.” “Can’t I just unfollow now?” Brendan started to tap again. Fox lunged forward. “No! No, that’s even worse. If she already noticed you followed her, she’s just going to think you’re playing games.” “Jesus. I’m deleting the whole thing,” Brendan said, throwing the offending device onto the dashboard,”
I loved every character we meet through the book and it was fun to read all their interactions. And the sex!! It was amazing. Steamy and sensual for sure. The tension between Piper and Brenden was NOT slow burn. There was definitely a little angst since they waited to have sex but it was not slow.
“Fuck me. You can be as high maintenance as you want, honey. But I’m the only one who does the maintenance.” He ran his thumb down the seam of her sex. “Understood?”
My problem might be (view spoiler)[ the fight at the end. I personally did not think it was I personally did not think it was fair of piper to accuse Brenden of not believing in her. He was there with and for her from day one. He supported her through everything and I think she acted very immature and irrational. (hide spoiler)]
There wasn’t really an “enemies to lovers” romance here. They both just got off on the wrong foot because they got along pretty well after their first few meets.
But overall I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and flirty and gave me summer vibes. The relationships in this, whether friends or lovers, were top tier hot and exciting. I think it’s the kind of book you go in for a good time and nothing serious?...more

I devoured this series so quickly. I didn’t even stop to review the books separately. This was just so much fun; the moment I heard about the series where two assassins fall in love, I knew I needed it. I’ve always been a sucker for romances about two alpha men with pride and egos as big as their dicks. The romance between Justin and Gabriel was definitely on the softer side for me. While there was definitely angst between them, they acknowledged their feeling for each other pretty early on in the series.
“You’re not a job. I don’t want to act with you, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been me around someone. I don’t know what to say. I’m afraid you’re to think I’m a complete idiot. Or boring.”
This series was a forced proximity trope. Justin and Gabriel were reluctant to work with each other after their life long career in assassination. This was definitely not an enemies to lovers like I expected. Though they had trouble in the beginning, it had more to do with their lack of trust for eachother, which is understandable. This was pretty much insta-lust. Both of them were very descriptive in their inner monologues on their attraction to eachother. And while that continues throughout the series, we read pretty little on their problems with each other.
They blurt out every bottled emotion they had during their fights, which left me surprised too since I had no idea the protagonist was having troubles.
“Do you honestly think you’re not capable of keeping me safe?” “No one is as incredible as you. No one can get past you. No one will touch me…ever.”
This was also very action packed. Obviously. So much killing and mysteries and gruesome murder. Satisfying murders. But it was balanced out with the fluffy-cutesy scenes between The MC’s. Was I truly interested in their cases? Not really. I was only interested in the ones with a direct connection to either one of their families because honestly it brought out a protective side of the MC’s and fuck if it was hot.
“He was your friend.” Justin placed both of his hands on Gabriel’s cheeks, cradling his face. “And you’re my heart. You win every time.”
The relationship itself was pretty slow. Though they started sleeping together very early on in the first book. We only start to know of their past through the course of the second book. And Justin’s past comes up in book three. I am, however, extremely happy that it wasn’t just sex with them. We read scenes of them actually try to make it work despite almost always being targeted.
I’m really looking forward to having the dog versus cat argument with you.” “What are you talking about? Is that an American sex thing?” “God, no. Dogs and cats. You know, furry animals you keep as pets.” “Of course I know what they are. Why are we arguing about them?” “Because we have to decide what we’re going to have when we live together.” “That’s ridiculous. We’re going to have cats.”
Overall this was fun and exciting to read. I honestly felt like this could’ve been a duology if written properly, because the third book went very quickly. But still. I thoroughly enjoyed this series....more

This didn’t quite work for me as much as the other books in this series
I really really liked the MC’s. I loved their interactions and banter and personalities. The premise of this book was good too, with a strong beginning. But the execution later on was something that bored the hell out of me.
Asher : jock, kind of co-parenting with his brother since their parents passed away , 4 younger siblings to take care of, absolute softie and a complete mess.
“having sex with a cactus would be less dangerous than fooling around with Coach’s son,”
Kole : coach’s son, his dog is an attention whore, hates hockey but is the equipment manager since he lost a bet, crazy smart nerd.
Asher and Kole didn’t have much of a meet cute but their relationship was way more real than anyone else’s in this series. Asher really struggled with his studies, especially since he put a lot of time in with his siblings. Kole volunteers to help him study and they start a study routine that included a lot of rapid fire questions and blowjobs.
“I bite my lip and picture what my life will look like without hockey or what my job prospects will be without a college degree. Maybe I should learn the phrase “Would you like fries with that?”
The story got very boring after a point. Nothing happened, their relationship didn’t progress forward nor backward. It just stayed in the same state, which is fine, but the book didn’t need to go on 33 chapters.
I’ll admit, this book had moments that made me smile and coo but nothing that was too memorable.
“Sorry about that,” Kole says to me. “You can go out with whoever you want.” As long as their name starts with A and ends in sher.”
However, we did get chapters that dealt with Asher’s grief and pain after his parents death and that was fantastic. The way the author wrote made the moment extremely raw and beautiful.
OVERALL: I cant wait for the second book. It has a hard ass professor....more

@Mariam girlll I love you. Muah
So we have Maddox Kershaw, the bad boy rock star, and Roscoe Hall, his personal manager. They’ve been working together for a long time but lately their relationship worked differently and they soon realize their feelings for each other are too strong to hold in.
This was honestly an amazing experience. It was nothing like I expected, I figured with the rock star trope we would have Maddox throwing temper tantrums and Roscoe being the only one to give him a firm hand. But Maddox was a deep character. His personality was so flawlessly written, I can truly understand his thoughts and his pain. I physically felt it. His attempts at hiding his hurt and anxiety behind sarcasm and humour. His need for Roscoe by his side. His love for his band mates. It was all so beautifully incorporated.
Oceans of blue In a storm of you May the stars above guide us, Maybe the lighthouse bring us home
- guess who has blue eyes
Let the current take me I want to drown in the blue Where there is nothing but silence And visions of you
We see the events through Roscoe’s POV. Did I wish we had dual POV? Honestly no. I loved that we saw everything through Roscoe’s eyes. He knew Maddox better than anyone else and it was obvious by him noticing the smallest things about Maddy. Their relationship wasn’t slow, they got together at an appropriate time in the book and the pacing was perfect in my opinion. There was just enough tension and angst for it to be satisfying when they finally kiss and more.
“We’re just . . . together.” Maddox smiled at me, just briefly. Jeremy watched Maddox; the others all nodded slowly. “How long?” Blake asked. Maddox put his hands about nine inches apart. “About that long.” Christ.
The secondary characters were equally amazing! The rest of the band mates were so supportive and loving and hilarious as fuck. They knew exactly what to do and say at times and the loyalty among them really made me think of a pack of wolves.
“None of you would ever consider a solo career?” he asked. “When and if the time ever comes?” Maddox’s expression was cool, if not a little offended. “God, no. Who the hell would I be without these guys? When I’m not with them, I feel like I’ve lost my phone or my keys. Five fingers, five senses, I dunno. Pick your analogy.” “I could totally go out on my own,” Wes said, grinning. Jeremy shoved him. “Fuck off. You can’t even decide pizza toppings on your own.”
And their moments together were so funny. Like it was those moments that would bring a sudden burst of laughter through you
Ambrose made his way down the steps to the stage. He held up three fingers. “What does this symbolize?” “Wes’s IQ,” Blake replied. “How high Blake can count,” Wes snapped back.
We also experience scenes of Maddox’s stress and anxiety. With him having problems with his voice and also of him being the face of their band - Maddox faces problems because although they’re a band of 5, he gets most of the attention and light and that puts a lot of pressure on him. I thought it was spectacular how the author wrote those moments. At a point, I do admit that I thought the relationship might be a little unhealthy? . I felt that Maddox was a little too dependent on Roscoe and couldn’t handle things on his own, but that was quickly erased from my mind after the way he dealt with the problems life threw at him and the decisions HE made.
the sirens cut the night All the birds take flight All the world stops turning Can you, can you feel me burning

“She’s the one that got away.”
I cant help but smile over how whipped this guy is. Rye Peterson has been in love with Brenna since page one and no one can convince me otherwise.
I picked this book up because I absolutely adore Managed. It’s probably my all time favorite book and one of my first romances that I ever truly fell in love with. Soooo I picked this up for the cameos. Hehe. I really wanted more glimpses of my Gabriel.
But this was sooo good. Gooey and cheesy and cliche and just what I wanted. As much as I love my dark romances, I do indulge in dessert once in a while.
Story: We follow Rye, Bassist for the band Kill John, and Brenna (no idea what she actually does but she kind of manages their band?). When Rye accidentally catches (eavesdrops on) Brenna talking about how she wants to have amazing sex for once in her life, he volunteers as tribute . And so begins their sex buddies no strings attached bs.
I know you don’t believe me, but I’m tired of moving from partner to partner. I’m tired of feeling…” A deep flush turns his face red. “Alone.”
What I loved about this book:
RYE PETERSON
He was everythinggg. Definitely didn’t steal Gabriel’s spot but a close second. Like I said : he was fucking pussy whipped. It was so painfully obvious and all the more satisfying to read about.
He’s the first hero in a long time that I’ve read about, who made himself vulnerable so early on the book.
“I’m good, Bren. I’ll do whatever you want, for as long as you want. I’ll make certain you’re taken care of, and I won’t tell a soul.”
He was the definition of male perfection. He was sexy and sweet. Possessive and protective. Smart and funny. A rock star and a fucking nerd. I legit shed tears at how he doesn’t exist in my life.
Brenna was fine. She was your typical strong heroine who let her pride get in the way too many times. But I did like her personality when she let him in. She was fun and always gave as well as she took.
“Thing you should know about me, Rye. If my partner isn’t pleasured, then I’m not going to be either.”
There were so many moments in this I LOVEEED.
⚫️The friendship between the gang was so hilariously cute.
⚫️The boys fighting over Sam, Dean and Castiel from Supernatural
⚫️Him obsessing over how she takes her coffee and the scent of her perfume.
Group moments:
“She doesn’t count. We’re a relationship unit.” “God.” I groan and pinch the bridge of my nose where a headache is forming. “Which means Sophie knows too.” Scottie’s smile is brief but fond. “No. I love my wife, but that doesn’t mean I’m unaware that she has the biggest mouth in all creation.”
^im crying.
“Let me save you some more future grief. If your woman comes to you to complain about some shit going down in her life, she doesn’t want you to fix it.” “What’s the point of telling me if I can’t help find a solution?” “So you can nod and say, ‘Fuck that noise, you’re completely in the right, sweetness.’ Or, ‘I’m sorry, honey, that truly sucks. Would you like a foot rub?’”
Honestly. I really enjoyed this book. Their relationship was so much fun and filled with banter. The writing in this was humor filled and didn’t bore me out. KC wrote their relationship in a way that’s both slow and fast; but there was so much loyalty in this book and among the friends that it’ll make you ache.
“I always was.” I can’t quite make my mouth work correctly. “Always was what?” “Yours.” Tender hands cup my cheeks. “I’ve always been yours. And you…You already are my everything. You’re my music, Bren.”
Ahhh cheesy goodnesss

STORY
Bianca (h) wants a baby and Enzo (H) needs a wife. And hence their marriage of convience begins.
“A what?” “A baby.” His dark eyes clouded over with confusion. “Whose baby?” “Mine. And . . .” I ate the second olive off the pick. “Yours.” “I don’t have a baby.”
Rule no.1 : no sex Rule no.2 : only honesty Rule no.3 : no one can know Rule no.4 : no falling in love
What can go wrong right?
PLOTLINE
Though this was supposed to be an enemies-friends-lovers; We really only see the friends-lovers part. The enemies aspect was more or less them just annoying each other disturbingly close to how sibling piss each other off. Both the hero and heroine are from large italian families and happened to be childhood enemies. Bianca has always had a crush on him but she was unbelievably shy – which the hero surmarised as stuck up bitch/ too good for anyone else bitch. But this was cleared up very early in the book, which I was so glad about because honestly I cant handle bs and miscommunication like that throughout the book; especially if it involves childhood crush/grudge
“I wasn’t stuck-up, Enzo, I was shy!” she exclaimed, like I should have known. “And you were always surrounded by girls batting their lashes and tossing their long blond hair and giggling like idiots at everything you said. Just because I wasn’t one of them doesn’t mean I thought I was too good for you”
I enjoyed every second of them relcutanly becoming friends and opening up to eachother. The vulnerablity the characters potray very early on in the book was so satisfying because we see trust in the beginning of the relationship. They had no walls , didn’t push each other away or try to get space so they can “stop falling in love”
“Hey. What are you doing over there?” “I don’t know. I’m giving you some space.” “Well, I don’t want it. Come here.”
They had adorable banter and honestly on any other day this would’ve been a 3 star read for me, but after so many tragedies ive been having this one made me laugh with it instead of laughing at it
—->For their wedding; they wrote vows for the other one to read ( since they both no nothing of eachother besides their favorite color and food)
“what can I say but that my life before you was a meaningless, shallow void—in the words of the immortal Edward Cullen, it was ‘an unending, unchanging midnight.’” I paused here to give her a look—who the fuck was Edward Cullen?” -- I loved the many twilight references we have through this book. It seriously cracked me up
Enzo was our stereotypical cocky-mama’s boy. But he was honestly hilarious and real and truthful. Oh did I mention he’s cocky?
“No pretense, no expiration date, no conditions. I had a feeling she’d say yes, but just in case, I practiced my smolder in the mirror before I left. Oh yeah. I still had it.”
He never bullshitted about his feelings or take any of what he got for granted and the guy is gorgeous ( I drooled ovee the cover 1 too many times )
“I told my mother no aunts and uncles, no cousins. She claimed they were never going to speak to her again.” Her eyes were wide as she reached for her wine glass. “What did you say?” “I said, ‘You’re welcome.’”
RELATIONSHIP
Perfect pacing. Nothing too fast or too slow. I didn’t have a moment where I was like “was that necessary” or “ugh why now?”. Lots of cutesy moments in the book that made me jealous:
“She hopped off the island and wrapped her arms around me from behind. It felt ridiculously good”
yes I like physical affection, so sue me ive been inside my house for too long
“Be nice, or I won’t say the cute thing I was about to say.” She laughed. “What’s the cute thing?” “That I am genuinely enjoying having you here.” I looked over at her. “Brace yourself—I think I like you.” “Ewwww.” She made a face like she was disgusted. “I know, right?”
----->see how cheesy it is? I DON’T FUCKING CARE YA’LL. I eat this shit up.
TW: we do go them trying to concieve a baby and Bianca repeatedly failing to get pregnant. We reading both their POV’s on how theyre dealing with it.
The miscommunication at the end was pretty much expected. We can go through an entire book without the H fucking up right? Well here the fuck up was more clean and easy. There were a lot of tears but I was angry at neither the hero nor the heroine. I understand both of their POV’s and why they did.
OVERALL
Highly recommend this if youre looking for a cheesy rom-com. Or a small town romance with an amazing friend group and supoorting families.
“You’re the most beautiful, the most caring, and the most exasperating woman I’ve ever known. You can infuriate me like no one else—but you make me happier than anyone else ever could. And the love I feel for you is the truest, realest thing I’ve ever known.”...more

I LOVE k Webster’s MM romances especially because they’re deliciously taboo and filled with angst. Her romances are v toxic yet filled with passion and love that is borderline obsessive.
“Once they saw how it really was for the other, they began to feel bad. They went from hating each other, to understanding each other, to befriending each other.” “So enemies to friends?” His chin leaves the top of my head to brush his lips against my ear. This time, I can’t contain the shudder that trembles through me. “Enemies to lovers.”
Feuds and reckless fury is about two stepbrothers Alister and Canyon. Throughout the first half of the book, Canyon is dead set on breaking Alis to get back at his dad for ruining their family and leaving his mom for Alis’s dad. He stalks Alis at school and inserts himself into every one of Alis’s classes to remain close to him. Quitting Football to join the track team and go head to head with his soon to be stepbrother.
The animosity between them in the beginning really just showed sexual tension at its finest. Especially with the taunting and not so innocent innuendos.
“Watch your back tomorrow,” I snap, storming toward the door. “Oh, brother, doggy style is so much fun,” he croons in a taunting way. “How did you know I prefer to bottom?” “Fuck you, Wonderland.” “One can certainly hope.”
There was something unbelievably vulnerable about both Alister and Canyon. Alister was adopted and lived his entire life trying to please his dad so he won’t be sent away and it was so sad because it was just obvious that his dad loves him wholeheartedly.
“He wants me to choose him. To make promises. Lay out a plan that includes him. Alister Sommers needs to be tethered to this world, or else he feels like he’ll float away, somehow ending up in the black void that is his biological father.”
Canyon just wanted his parents’ support after their divorce and with his mum’s sudden addiction to drugs. He was very angry and honestly that got a little repetitive because there was always that line where he would say he wanted to destroy Alis and I’m like “ meh it’s getting kinda old”
“If I want to hurt Dad, I hurt Quinn. And if I want to hurt Quinn, I go for his beloved son. There’s a method to my madness.”
Their relationship was exactly what you would expect with a K Webster romance. It was forbidden and all consuming to read about how they got lost in each other (yes, very much jealous of these characters).
“Except this.” His smile is vicious and victorious. “You want to be overpowered by me in this bed.” Fuck. This asshole just found my Achilles’ heel.”
The sex was hot and steamy as usual but the story line was what got me. This didn’t feel like her typical books because EVERYONE got a happy ending. There is not a single main character in this that didn’t get a happy ending and that was a nice surprise. All the secondary characters had personality and without sticking to the “dumb straight jock” and “bitchy queen b”. I mean, Canyon’s nerdy obsession is anime. We even have scenes of them going to anime con. HOW FUCKING ADORABLE.
“Anime isn’t nerdy. It happens to be really popular,”
Overall: I was so happy I picked this one. It focused a lot on the found family aspect and less on the ‘ I have to destroy my dads relationship’ aspect.
“Home is wherever your heart is. And mine is with Canyon Voss.” “My hypothetical cat’s other daddy. Home is him.”...more

I kept seeing Den of vipers on“It’s part of the bond. None of us have ever had a woman on our own.” “So if you were a boy band, you’d be One Erection,”
I kept seeing Den of vipers on my feed and since I’ve already read it I was like “why not start a reverse harem?”
This first instalment was hilarious as fuck. It wasn’t the dark setting I was expecting; the heroine was such a relatable chic (as relatable as one can be in her situation) she was very different from Roxanne in DOV, especially because she was badass in a way that’s NORMAL. She’s tough and soft at the same time. She’s very independent and never lets the four morons treat her like a doormat.
“I watched, I coveted, I even did some really questionable things to try and actually possess whatever woman they brought home with them. I’m apparently not the possessing type of ghost.”
The guys are sexy, cruel, hurtful assholes and I want them to marry me. Every single one of them.
One-Gage – man period mood swings Two--Ezekiel – nipple lover Three--Kai – ‘I hate you but I need you to like me’ Four--Jude – asshole no.1 with a chip on his shoulder
In the beginning, I guess I wasn’t really interested in the paranormal part of the story, but then it just so interesting so fast; I couldn’t put it down!! All the characters were just so damn sexy and seductive;
So many smirks and temptations and hilariously ridiculous comments.
Who was the first to give in? That’ll be Ezekiel. He is probably the only man who could be an adorable asshole. Kai went from being cold and distant to being “I want to be your favorite” so yes. He has my heart.
Gage was just back and forth through the entire book. He was obviously torn between staying away and giving into temptation as proven by the numerous times the author used the word “longing” in his presence. Jude…… Jude was probably cheated on in the past because he would rather slam his head in a car door than give in to her. And just for that she plans her revenge. While. He. Fights.
“My next outfit is a cheerleader outfit, with my hair in pigtails.” “J! U! D! E! What’s that spell?! Major dick, yes, sir-ree!” My cheer involves a one-finger salute.”
Overall: I wouldn’t essentially recommend this book, but if you’re bored and looking for entertainment then this is the book for you. Though it might get dull at times because of the history lessons, you still can’t put it down because you NEED to know what happens.
“Try to bring home a woman, and I’ll make farting noises while wearing a dolphin costume and acting like I’m humping each of you. See how long you can hold an erection then”
**spoiler alert** OH MAAAAANNN. I feel like this is going to be another after story.
“Two, you’re so real that if anyone attempted to get inside you**spoiler alert** OH MAAAAANNN. I feel like this is going to be another after story.
“Two, you’re so real that if anyone attempted to get inside you, they’d probably drown from how deep you are. I volunteer to take a tour, though. If you’ll let me.”
And they’re pen pals too. Im soo tempted to continue the series but hes fucking her for a fucking dare. Do I dare?
Will I read it? Yes Will I regret it? Probably Do I care? Not a single fuck given
**spoiler alert** Okay I need to ask. Do girls really cry all the time? Because that seems to be the trend in my recent reads.
I’m not sure if im reall**spoiler alert** Okay I need to ask. Do girls really cry all the time? Because that seems to be the trend in my recent reads.
I’m not sure if im really disappointed in this because I knew what I was getting into. This is a very cliché story without the cookie cutter characters? Atleast that’s what I thought for the first 50% of the book aaand then we hit the high school vibe.
Lets break it down shall we? We follow Aveena or “vee”, a very “relatable” girl because she reads and works in the library and has the whole “shes hot but she doesn’t know it which makes her hotter” thing going on. On one fine day, she gets tired of being in her prodigy sisters shadow and writes an anonymous letter cursing everyone and everything and accidently leaves it in the library (like we all have at one point in our life)
When she goes back to get the letter before someone reads it and ruins her scholarship deal (ofcourse), she finds a letter left for her. And so begins our pen pal plotline that soon leads to texting and phone-sex ( that may or may not involve ice cubes)
And who is this anonymous pen-pal? Meet Xavier Emery; Captain of the basketball team, the “jock who isn’t a jock” because he never wanted the popularity in the first place. In the midst of hating his life, he finds the letter and begins daring Vee to give more confessions.
“Zac: You’ve got me wrapped around your fucking pinky, you know that?”
With that said, this book wasn’t thaaatt bad. I genuinely liked the first half of the book, the confessions were adorable and Xavier was just so easy to like. And I think what ive always loved about pen-pal romances is that we see two people who believe that would never connect find an undeniable bond through the letters.
“Christ, just tell me who you are. Fuck the pact. Fuck the secrets. Fuck it all. Just tell me who are you, L. Please. Let this be real”
Vee, I felt, was always looking for reassurances or validation somewhere. The author couldn’t sell the i-would-rather-stay-in-than-go-out attitude for the heroine and honestly it just made her kind of pathetic because we also have the “my sister gets more attention than me” plotline going on.
“So, when guys like that see a girl like you, a girl who doesn’t look easy or desperate, they get intimidated. Label her high-maintenance and run like hell. You’re beauty and brains, Vee. You’re an immature high school boy’s worst nightmare”
but besides that, I think the book was just so entertaining. There was just so much shit going on with everyone and I was so funny because it was just absolutely ridiculous in every sense.
Now let me tell you what happened after the 50% mark:
1) Xav and Vee decide that it’s time to meet and the perfect place? A fucking frat party. Xav kisses the first person who comes up to him (bitchy-sidekick-cheerleader) thinking that it’s vee. And what do you know? Vee catches them and flees ( which she seems to be doing a lot in this book)
2) Xav and vee make up and make out and sleep with eachother.
3) The confessions that they left in the library is found and posted all over the school with a new form facebook group “whoisZacandLove” (their pen names)
4) Xav gets back with his ex girlfriend because PLOTWIST: the bitchy cheerleader started the facebook page and could possibly expose him as Zac.
Now here’s something you should know: while Vee’s deepest confession was that she slept with her sisters boyfriend; xav confessed that he saw his mother sleeping with a minor. And hence he needs to “date” Brie (cheerleader psycho) to keep his mothers secret.
5) Vee is heartbroken and constantly cries.
6) Xav does nothing about it except blame and beat himself up.
I feel like my love for Xav drops after this, he was all “bark but no bite”? he kept saying how much he loved her and how he would do anything for and how she is the single most important thing in his life but he does absolutely nothing to prove it.
“What if you’re the only thing that makes sense anymore?” He sounds pained, broken. “What if, when everything went to shit, all I could think about was making sure you were okay?” I hear him step forward but don’t turn around. “What if I’ve never felt this way about anyone in my entire fucking life, Vee?”
*proceeds to ignore her existence in public*
Its almost embarrassing to read about how Vee is in love with him and im like “for fucksake you’re in love with a fucking ghost”
“Love: I wish I could hug you right now. Zac: Fair warning, if you hugged me, another part of me would probably hug you.”
*dramatic eye-roll* boys.
And Xavier’s parents had the most comical lines
“Baby, look at me.” She forces our eyes to meet. “I’m your mother. I carried you, gave you life, tended to every fit. There are a million girls just like her out there, but there is only one of me.”
I really want to read Finn and Dia’s story (MC’s bestfriends)
“Long story short, they hated each other. Until… their genitals didn’t.” They seem to be a mess but I just cant help but find their story amusing and it’s a “friends who are in love with eachother but will not admit it” trope.
Overall: I don’t HATE this book, it was what you would expect going into a highschool bully romance, it was fun and very fast, I finished it in one day! I feel like if you like Deviant King or Dear Ava; you would like this book.
“I know this is shitty, and complicated, and it’d be easier for you to get on that plane, but… I don’t want easy—fuck easy. I want you. I love you, Vee,” he croaks, pressing his forehead flush to mine. “Just… stay.”...more
**spoiler alert** “Come with me.” “Where?” “Somewhere you don’t have to pretend.”

Two boys carrying the weight off the world on their shoulders find each other and hence finds peace. Holden and River had such amazing personalities, they weren’t predictable in the least and I enjoyed reading about them both together and separated.
Holden lives with his aunt and uncle after his parent sent him off to conversation therapy and is now facing his demons in high school. River is struggling with his own life with his mom having cancer and the fact that he’s in the closet.
I shouldn’t have let you walk away. That’s okay, I typed. I understand. I don’t want you to understand, River wrote back. I want you to punch me in the face until I stop being so ducking scared all the time.
They’re relationship was just all over the place with Holden’s insecurities and River’s fears. It put them on hold many times and I actually didn’t mind the back and forth. Holden broke my one too many times. My heart went out to him, he was such a damaged hero with an unbelievably soft side that I craved to read about.
“Sometimes things feel so good with you, it starts to feel surreal. I had to tell someone to make it more solid”
They were separated for years towards the end of the book where Holden leaves to fix himself and get better so he can finally admit to himself that he’s worth it. The separation IMO was much needed. Although they weren’t toxic together; they wouldn’t have healed if they were together.
“When you left, I thought the loneliness would kill me. But I realized today at the Shack that I’d made you lonely, too. I made you lonely while we were still together, when my stupid fears and self-doubt kept us in hiding. I’m so sorry for that, Holden. You deserve to be loved out loud.”
Overall: I couldn’t recommend this book more. It’s emotional and dark and so wholesome and some of the next hard hitting moments I’ve read. I think it’s amazing to read about family coming back together after tragedy. Both Holden and River fix their family relationships( Holden with his aunt and uncle) and it’s the most beautiful scene to read....more
*edit* : my mistake, it is a college romance. I genuinely thought it was high-school because not a single portion of the entire book made me believe *edit* : my mistake, it is a college romance. I genuinely thought it was high-school because not a single portion of the entire book made me believe it was a college setting.
Can I just start off with the cover? I mean how is that the cover of a college romance? I mean seriously.
Now on to the book ; Think about After. But Hardin says shit like this
“I’m rich, handsome, and a star. Oh, I also come from a prestigious family. What’s there not to like about me?”
“I can feel your blood coating my dick. The best lube I’ve ever had.”
I don’t even know what to say about this except it was painfully predictable? I couldn’t find it in me to give a shit about any of the characters
What did I like? Uh.. the sex? These two were kinky as fuck and this book was steamy but that’s not enough for me.
Overall: I’m so glad this book got over and I would rather slam my fingers into a car door than read the sequel.
Such a shame because I love Rina Kent’s books....more

*sigh* I feel like im becoming too emotionally invested in each book and its breaking me.
“Please,” he said, and the note of uncertainty in his voice nearly broke Malcolm’s heart. “Do not leave me alone.” Yet some unspoken thing seemed to whisper, more than the words Seong-Jae said… Do not leave me at all.
You know that feeling when you’re reading a book and you’re mentally begging the closed of MC to just let us peek behind his door and he does you better by showing us the entire goddamn room and throwing away the key? Leaving you satisfied and heartbroken at the same time? No? just me?
This probably is the only book in the series without a mystery or case. This book solely focuses on Malcom and Seong-jae and how they heal from their previous case. We see so much of Malcom taking care of Seong-jae and it’s probably the sweetest and most tender scenes I’ve ever read!
We also meet Seong-ja, our MC’s little sister. I practically laughed my ass off when she called Malcom “ Hot Daddy Boyfriend”
Can you practically dissolve into a puddle while reading? Yes, yes you can [ferb’s voice]
Malcom turns into older brother/ father figure for Seong-ja, while her brother turns into a grumbling – blushing mess and it made me want to permanently etch those moments in my mind.
Yes, yes, mark me want me touch me hurt me own me claim me
AND THE SEX! JESUS BUBEFDCNOS THE SEX! Such a descriptive way of showing Seong-jae break down every wall and just feel.

“May I kiss you?” Swaying closer, closer, drawn in, and… “Just once.” “Once,” Seong-Jae answered ->[Kiss...] “Maybe again,” *me shrieking*
This is not even a review, just me ranting:
The scenes of them together was everything I can hope for, it was slow and intimate and personal. It portrays them being themselves without any walls or barriers. There was so much tension in this book especially with the appearance of Malcom’s ex-wife, which left Seong-jae more vulnerable and closed off.
And also. You guys. THEY WERE FORCED TO BE IN A CAR OVERNIGHT! TOGETHER. ALONEEE!.
I’m not going to talk about the other perspectives we read in this book, because honestly, I don’t give shit. But there have been POVs of unknown people a part of the “bigger mystery” that’s happening and growing in each book. And we see more glimpses of Seong-jae’s past and how HE is a part of the “bigger mystery”....more
This book took me by surprise. I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. I figured it would be light and quick read but it really wasn’t. This book took me by surprise. I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. I figured it would be light and quick read but it really wasn’t. I don’t usually mesh with the “fake dating” trope. I know! Hold in your gasps. But this really worked for me.
“Rhys told me you’d never love me.” “He what?” Callahan nearly shouted “He said I was beneath you.” Jace tipped Callahan’s chin up with the side of his finger. “And I told him he was right.” “He’s not “But I showed him this picture that I took of you.” Jace leaned down, his words hot against Callahan’s mouth. “And let him know I was very much above you when I took it.”
Their relationship was a lot more chaotic than I thought. Their different lifestyles and financial positions set a wall between them and them trying to beat it down was so beautiful. Jace and Callahan are both such honest characters with depth and theres more to their personality that they try to discover together
Callahan’s character development was fucking phenomenal. His change from the rigid and “has to meet everybodies standards” to softhearted, determined and “will do anything to get who he wants” was such an emotional and uncertain ride. The journey he went through with jace to find out who he really is and what he really wants was filled with ups and downs and arguments and I think that’s what made it real. “I want to know you” “I want to deserve you. I want to earn you”
Jace had a lot more of a subtle development. We see him learn to trust and equally depend on Callahan. He lets himself be more vulnerable and its nothing but beautiful to read about. “I thought sex wasn’t intimate.” “I was wrong.” He squeezed Callahan’s hand. “Everything with you is intimate. Everything with you is real.” “I don’t know how I ever pretended otherwise.” Callahan laughed to himself. “You tried to tell a real good lie,” Jace said, looking back up at the picture. “And ended up with the truth.” ...more

story: Believing that Marcus is wayy out of his league, Gabe fakes his identity thinking his night with Marcus would just be one night. that is, until he bumps into him at work the next day and things didn't go all too well. Logan Mitchell ( ahhh i'm screaming ) his boss and the person whose identity Gabe stole, asks him to make amends as to not mess up their business deal. And that's how Gabe ends up being at Marcus' beck and call and staying the weekend at his place.
The word that comes to mind whenever I think about you is…sexy. “So damn sexy. And us together? We’re hot as hell. Admit it.” “Admit it,” he said again. “Admit how hot we are together. We all but set that studio on fire that night. God, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten off to that.”
Ella Frank really got the hang of writing up arrogant characters. Gabe , honestly, reminded me of Logan. He was arrogant, persuasive and charming. While Marcus was cold and broody and rigid.
This book was pretty much identical to Try. >> Try It had very little plot or content. We learn basically nothing about either of the characters and we're just waiting for the bomb to explode in the end, just like her other books. Despite that, their banter was fun and the characters were humorous and easy to like. so i would recommend this if you were just looking for an easy and fun read. Like the equivalent of background or elevator music. Something to have just so you wouldn't die of boredom ...more
