It is now.”

Also, I’ll whisper a joke to you, and you’ll laugh because of my comedic genius. Couples are always giggling.” He types once more. “Pretend like Jonah is funny.”
The author did a really impressive job in making the relationship a priority without it being the only focus in the book. We’re given equal importance to the characters lives and struggles and how they battle with it on their own instead of using their relationship or new found spouse as an excuse to make amends and it’s so refreshing <3 (obviously I’m not faulting or diminishing the previous books I’ve read on how they dealt with struggles, I’m just saying that this was a first )

Something about their reaction tells me Santiago doesn’t laugh that way often. Can I make him do it again? I’ve always dreamed of having a superpower.
The relationship tween Santiago and Chloe was messy and chaotic and “laugh out loud” kind of funny. Chloe was a smart-ass, I’m a little different, eye rolling kind of girl and her personality perfectly complimented Santiago’s character.✨
Whoever makes up the most ridiculous story about our relationship wins whatever they want.” I laugh. It’s loud and unrestrained, echoing off the walls. “Why would we do that?” “Because I’d rather see you smile than cry.”
The fake relationship was by far my favourite one I’ve read, it didn’t have drama, questions, the push and pull i usually find in these type of romances. Both the characters were bold and blunt and completely open about their feelings for each other imo....more

I’m sorry but I’m bored out of my fucking mind. I have nothing to say accept this book had a lot of fucking potential and it all went down the drain. I had such high hopes for this especially because I adore this trope but it can’t go perfect everytime and unfortunately, this was one of them.
The relationship between Dex and Tripp did not connect with me. I had a hard time following their conversations and so called banter. I don’t know if it’s because I’m stressed due to classes and exams and what not but this book just wasn’t easy? It wasn’t the fun and easy going book that I wanted. There was no dark content but the book didn’t make an easy read for me.
I skipped a lot of the book including scenes that could’ve been important so honestly I cannot give an honest opinion on the plot and story but I can say that I didn’t care enough to go through the whole thing. I skipped to the end which I pleasantly enjoyed because Eden Finley didn’t take the typical route and cause a scene between the characters to create a conflict and that made me happy.
I’m going to continue with the series obviously but my enthusiasm is a little dimmer
“You like belonging to me?” “I mean, in a non-codependent, healthy kind of way, yes. I like the way you worship my body like I’m a prized possession and not a toy to play with. I like that you respect me and love me, and you’ve always been yourself around me. I love who we are together. I love our bond. Most of all, I love you”...more

I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. I figured it would be light and quick read but it really wasn’t. I don’t usually mesh with the “fake dating” trope. I know! Hold in your gasps. But this really worked for me.
“Rhys told me you’d never love me.” “He what?” Callahan nearly shouted “He said I was beneath you.” Jace tipped Callahan’s chin up with the side of his finger. “And I told him he was right.” “He’s not “But I showed him this picture that I took of you.” Jace leaned down, his words hot against Callahan’s mouth. “And let him know I was very much above you when I took it.”
Their relationship was a lot more chaotic than I thought. Their different lifestyles and financial positions set a wall between them and them trying to beat it down was so beautiful. Jace and Callahan are both such honest characters with depth and theres more to their personality that they try to discover together
Callahan’s character development was fucking phenomenal. His change from the rigid and “has to meet everybodies standards” to softhearted, determined and “will do anything to get who he wants” was such an emotional and uncertain ride. The journey he went through with jace to find out who he really is and what he really wants was filled with ups and downs and arguments and I think that’s what made it real. “I want to know you” “I want to deserve you. I want to earn you”
Jace had a lot more of a subtle development. We see him learn to trust and equally depend on Callahan. He lets himself be more vulnerable and its nothing but beautiful to read about. “I thought sex wasn’t intimate.” “I was wrong.” He squeezed Callahan’s hand. “Everything with you is intimate. Everything with you is real.” “I don’t know how I ever pretended otherwise.” Callahan laughed to himself. “You tried to tell a real good lie,” Jace said, looking back up at the picture. “And ended up with the truth.” ...more
Did I enjoy it? Sure. I mean, it was fun and I guess it was kind of flirty at times?
This was a solid 3 star read for me because whilst the story was Did I enjoy it? Sure. I mean, it was fun and I guess it was kind of flirty at times?
This was a solid 3 star read for me because whilst the story was highly entertaining and even amusing at times, the characters were pretty unimpressive? No offense but I didn’t fall head over heels for Adam and it sucks because this would’ve really impressed me years back but I feel like now? It’s not really original.
The situations that the heroine got herself into and her friends put her in was very often just downright ridiculous and highly unlikely lol. I mean, a crowded lecture hall so she had to sit on his lap? Every moment from their first kiss to having too much sunscreen seemed almost forced to me and it made me roll my eyes hard at times.
Im not going to talk about the writing because frankly I don’t care, I skipped a lot because of the info dumps and don’t really have the right to critise.
This was also painfully tropey, with the student-teacher, one bed, grumpy-sunshine and fake dating and even boy falls first. HOWEVER, Adam was described as an asshole professor and that requirment was never met. He was grunty and grumpy but never an asshole though he was implied as an asshole for like a majority of the book
Adam Carlsen. Destroyer of research careers.
With alllll that being said, I still had fun while reading it. It was a quick and easy read and very easy to make it through without putting it down for other distractions.Totally recommend if you’re looking for a not-so-serious read that’s light and fluffy with just a hint of drama to make up for the overload of tropes.

“You could’ve broken up with me.” “I figured you’d get the message, get mad, then reappear in the form of a fuck buddy.”
^Oh boy. That was hilariously bad.
So let’s break it down shall we? We first meet Madison who is in a relationship with perfect boy Ethan. Few pages into the book and she is approached by her bad-boy billionaire ex boyfriend Chase Black, who comes up with the whole fake fiancé charade to appease his family and dying father in exchange for helping Madison with whatever shit she has. Madison or MARTYR MADDIE as she is called goes along with it in sympathy for Chase’s dad. Who has cancer btw.
And that’s when we see Chase finally fight for Madison. Why? So he can fuck her. Not for a relationship. *a boy after my own heart*
“I can’t promise you forever, but I can promise you right now, and it’s more than I’ve ever offered a woman before.”
*fake swoon* Chase Black really knows the way to a girls heart doesn’t he.
Ethan - Coffee is highly unhealthy. I’ll send you an article.
I just don’t get why authors make the boyfriends look like a boring stick in the mud. It’s a total cop out for us to fall in love with the H. Unfortunately that method isn’t really successful in this book.
I think having Ethan in this book was totally unnecessary. It honestly made me dislike the heroine, how she kept dragging him along and used him to get over Chase.
Overall. I think I only liked the few ending chapters where they supported eachother as friends and went from there. That should’ve been how the storyline went from chapter 10 or 12. And not the whole “I don’t have heart. I can only fuck” bullshit. ...more
